Comment About Stubs
Two of your stubs were showing up in Category:Pending AfC submissions less than 450 bytes long, but were not submitted. I have commented to User:Primefac, who may be the originator of the category, that unsubmitted drafts should not show up in the category, because the purpose of the category should be to contain drafts that may be problematic. TryKid [dubious – discuss] 18:32, 31 May 2020 (UTC)state senator
I've accepted one of your drafts per WP:NPOL. I also read your thread at Jimbo's talk. I don't there's any racism involved, including just a bit more detail would have made things way more easier. TryKid [dubious – discuss] 17:52, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

- Thanks User:TryKid. Yes, the state senators and reps will be accepted eventually. They're notability is indisputable per guidelines. I'd like to see them all added and of course would love to see them expanded. It should be noted many had short political careers and lost their lives soon after being elected. So there isn't always a lot to say about them. Freed from slavery. Elected years later during reconstruction. Murdered by the KKK. Background info and good documentation on slaves isn't easy to come by but at least if they're included those with enough interest to delve in can always work on them. Thanks again. - Founded in 1886? 10 or so notable alumni already listed. Another high school spun off from it. The sourcing could be better but I don't see any case for it not meeting notability criteria User:KylieTastic. You don't think it would survive a deletion discussion? FloridaArmy (talk) 19:16, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry but I'm not sure what being founded in 1886 is too notability? I went to a school formally founded in 1890s with it's original roots from 1630 but it's not notable. The "notable alumni" is unsourced, and most of the targeted articles do not even mention (I did only search for "Otemae") so it's unclear where it even came from as not from the 1 page source? Even then notability is not inherited... so without indication that the school was a key part in the alumni lives not sure how it helps. Where did the information come from as much that is written is not in the 1 page source. So no in it's current state I don't think as a secondary school it would survive AfD. My Japanese is basic so finding extra sources is beyond me. Regards KylieTastic (talk) 19:44, 31 May 2020 (UTC)

KylieTastic (talk) 21:33, 1 June 2020 (UTC)- I had him on my list to write but ya beat me - but damn reading some of the papers from the time is damn depressing. Although I guess in many ways things have still sadly not got much better, just a chnage in language. KylieTastic (talk) 21:37, 1 June 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, it's very sad. Several more to do from the list of "Radicals" in the photo link. Also from Randolph Cemetery. I'm happy to help and have someone else start them. I have a tough time getting articles approved and the AfC process is unpleasant and exhausting for me.
- I appreciate your good works and considerate communications User:KylieTastic. Keep up the great work and enjoy life. FloridaArmy (talk) 22:07, 1 June 2020 (UTC)

- Thanks User:Hasteur. Clearly I am at fault for creating an entry on a politician who held statewide office thus meeting our inclusion criteria, having it rejected at AfC, pointing out that the rejection was improper, having an experienced editor accept it when they recognized the problem, and then having you drag it to AfD where it will be snow kept. When will my causing of disruptions end????? FloridaArmy (talk) 17:31, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

I've removed the last comment you made there as it was over the line in terms of a personal attack. However angry you might be, there is really no point throwing about aspertions of racism, bigotry and lying; the only thing that'll happen is you'll end up getting blocked, and no-one gains from that. Black Kite (talk) 11:18, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- Liars and bigots do not belong on Wikipedia. I'm tied of being attacked for adding articles about subjects related to African Americans, Jamaicans, and Africans. User:JzG repeatedly lies about my work and said it's somehow up to me to make editors care about these subjects. That is over the line for me. His behavior and that of the others attacking me with dishonest and abusive misrepresentations is unacceptable. Guy's abusive behavior cannot be allowed to continue. FloridaArmy (talk) 11:22, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- Regardless of what you think about him, if you are going to accuse people of bigotry or lying on a high-traffic Wikipedia page, you'll need actual evidence, not vague assertions. Black Kite (talk) 11:27, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- User:JzG accused me of creating lots of one line directory stubs and of not working on my article creations once they are in mainspace. Both are easily disproval lies.
- I am tired of being attacked for my article work on underrepresented subjects. I understand African Americans aren't popular, liked, or interesting to some people. But bigotry is wrong. FloridaArmy (talk) 11:32, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- FloridaArmy, you're calling me a bigot? Exactly that, right? I just want to be absolutely clear here. Guy (help!) 11:38, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- No User:JzG. I only pointed out that you attack me, lie about my work, and that you and others have made a big issue of my article creations on subjects related to African Americans, Jamaicans, and Africans.
- My statement about liars and bigots not belonging on Wikipedia is a general statement. I'm sure you agree with it. It's unfortunate it even needs to be said. But here we are. FloridaArmy (talk) 11:42, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- FloridaArmy, I have blocked many bigots. I agree they don't belong here.
- Now, about your issues. If you just write enough of an article that the case for notability is explicit, the AfC reviewers will stop complaining about you, and in fact the AfC restriction will probably be lifted. So please just try that, eh? Guy (help!) 11:55, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- I'm glad we see to eye to eye on bigots and bigotry. You left out liars, but that's also an odious and unwelcome practice.
- I would love to write volumes on African American Reconstruction Era politicians. Unfortunately I am a feeble editor and great sourcing is not always readily available. Thankfully, Wikipedia is a collaborative enterprise and many wonderful fellow editors have done a terrific job assisting. The first step is to get these important and interesting subjects included on Wikipedia, and I know I can count on you for assistance in this endeavor going forward. I don't think anything else needs to be said. I'm going to get back to writing up African American legislators many of whom were murdered by well meaning Democrats who were very concerned about upholding their quality standards. FloridaArmy (talk) 12:02, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- FloridaArmy, you appear to define "liar" as "person whose analysis does not agree with mine" - a regrettably common problem.
- The first step is indeed to get the articles included. The way yo do that is to establish why we should care about the subject. If you don't have the skills or resources for that, then AfC is no better than dropping half-formed articles into mainspace.
- Maybe use your WikiProject to work on the drafts before submission. But the drama is not going to go away as long as you think that your articles are so self-evidently important that you don't have to bear the burden of demonstrating it to other editors. Guy (help!) 12:28, 3 June 2020 (UTC)

- I thought we established that it's not my job to make anyone care about African American and other African diaspora related subjects. If they meet our notability criteria they belong in articlespace.
- Anyone who says I produce lots of one line directory stubs or that I don't work on my article creations after they are in mainspace −is a liar.
- The drama is not going to end until we find a cure for bigotry. Unfortunately, that is well beyond me and my capabilities. I can't even cure Covid. FloridaArmy (talk) 12:38, 3 June 2020 (UTC)

KylieTastic (talk) 09:15, 3 June 2020 (UTC)- I failed to find any obituary for the full DOD or more bio details - I can't believe a state representative would not have one! Maybe now in main space someone else can find some more. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 09:32, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, well, it should be noted this draft was denied with a comment asking for more informstion such as the exact date of death. This is an example of the frustrating and exhausting part of working on underrepresented subjects. The sourcing and information isn't always easy to come by. But an African American state level politician belongs in mainspace regardless.
- For what it's worth, which may not be much as I assume it's not a reliable source, this geneology website lists him as Sr., identifies 3 wives, and lists his children and step children. Could be useful for searching anywway. FloridaArmy (talk) 09:56, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- Is this family operating funeral parlors descended? FloridaArmy (talk) 10:04, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- This post about a "Reconstruction Network" has a paragraph about Palmer and William Beverly Nash. FloridaArmy (talk) 10:59, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
- I did see the comment about the DOD, but I'm not sure if that was actually tied to the reviewers decline - I hope not as that would be random and non-relevant. I would say that as you don't ping/mention people in some replies that the reviewer probably never saw your reply. In this case I can see this was only 1 of 11 reviews in the previous month so they probably didnt unless they watchlist. Personally I only watchlist articles I think I can get accepted. I had seen the geni.com source before but yes the script I use colors it red as "generally unreliable" from WP:RSPSOURCES so I avoid. I have seen editors in mainspace strip all "un-reliable" sources then AfD so I avoid any links marked red - but sometimes they do help track down good sources. The palmermemorialchapel.com could be descended but it's so damn difficult to tell without access to births and marriage certificates. One thing I found trawling though newspapers is there are way too many people with the same names. For now I think I'll work on the other Randolph Cemetery notables and see if we can get that list all blue, and then maybe come back to this one. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 18:55, 3 June 2020 (UTC)

- User:Theroadislong I've had that before - I think if the software thinks the time is in the past it does not work, so I've come to think its a clock sync issue (or the AFC submission has no ts (timestamp) field at all) normally just wait a while and it works. Try again it look ok for me now. KylieTastic (talk) 20:35, 3 June 2020 (UTC)
