[edit]

An article you recently created, Jokagadia, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Deletion discussion about Sheetal Patra

[edit]

Hello MangeshSahoo, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Sheetal Patra, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sheetal Patra.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|GrabUp}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Your submission at Articles for creation: Laba Hansda (September 18)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Nil NZ was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
As all the references are from September 2024, the draft doesn't pass WP:BLP1E. If significant coverage can be shown for this individual that's unrelated to the alleged death, the article will have a greater chance of meeting notability guidelines.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Your recent article submission has been rejected and cannot be resubmitted. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. This draft was already rejected. You removed all the earlier AfC templates, which is not allowed. You then resubmitted this, as if it is a new draft, which is also not allowed. This is gaming of the system, which is disruptive. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:57, 18 September 2025 (UTC)Reply

Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). Misleading edit summaries

[edit]

Please make sure that you always provide edit summaries which accurately reflect what your edits do. For example, you very frequently give the edit summary "Fixed typo" for edits which make significant changes, not by any stretch of the imagination correcting typoes. In one extreme example of this that I have seen you blanked an entire page, consisting of 3,200 characters; there is no way you can possibly have thought that was correcting a typo. In fact apart from automatically generated edit summaries, such as, for example, those that accompany page creations, you seem to virtually always either give the edit summary "Fixed typo" or give none at all. You have previously been asked not to give misleading edit summaries, but have continued to do so; please now start giving accurate ones. JBW (talk) 01:03, 17 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Subhashree Panda

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Subhashree Panda requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at [[Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Subhashree Panda]]. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.

Persistent problems with edit summaries

[edit]

You have previously been asked to provide edit summaries, and you have been asked more than once not to give misleading edit summaries. Since the last request, you have made 86 edits. In those edits you have continued exactly as before: 80% of the edits have no edit summary or just an automatically generated one, and all of the others have edit summaries which misrepresent what your edits have done, with the possible exception of just one edit, where you changed capitalisation with the edit summary "Fixed typo"; it didn't look to me like a typo, but it's possible you thought it was. I really don't like to see editors blocked from editing for such trivial reasons as refusal to make proper use of edit summaries, but if repeatedly being asked to cooperate doesn't work, then unfortunately a block becomes the only method available to try to get a change. Please start always giving an accurate and helpful edit summary for every edit you make, and absolutely never give false edit summaries, such as "Fixed typo" for edits which do nothing of the sort. If you choose to ignore this request it is very likely that you will be blocked from editing. JBW (talk) 21:42, 22 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Since I posted the message above, you have been providing edit summaries, and in most cases reasonable ones. Thank you for that. However, you have once since then given an inappropriate edit summary: in this edit to the article Surama Padhy you gave the edit summary "Fixed typo", although that is not what the edit did. Please be very careful, and try to make your record on good edit summaries 100%. JBW (talk) 19:33, 26 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Block from editing

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked temporarily from editing because, despite messages asking you to give accurate edit summaries, you have continued to give either none or misleading ones. For example, in this edit you gave an edit which totally misrepresented what you were doing. It is with great reluctance that I have blocked you from editing for such a small thing, but since you have ignored repeated requests, there is no other way of trying to persuade you to cooperate. At present the block is set to expire after 3 weeks, but it can be removed earlier than that if you will undertake to always provide an accurate edit summary for every edit you make. On the other hand, if you return to the same unacceptable practice after the block is over then it is likely that you will be blocked for much longer. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  JBW (talk) 11:19, 28 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

With apologies for the slow review. The relevant notability guideline is WP:NPLACE which requires a "Populated, legally recognized places" to be sourced. At the moment none of the sources point to legal recognition. One common route for towns in India is a reference in the official Census return, such as the District Census Handbook (DCH), which in addition to mentioning the town also provides some useful data. Typically it's Part XII: A which is the most useful. If that is not available, then you would need to meet WP:GOLDENRULE which is usually more difficult.
