Thanks a lot for the KOF 97 copyedit. My first langauge is Spanish so I tend to make mistakes and request every article to be copyedited. Cheers. Tintor2 (talk) 14:57, 3 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

No problem! I'm interested in helping to copy edit articles related to video games and other media, so I'd be happy to take a look at other content as I have time. Hope to see you around. MidnightMayhem 11:21, 4 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
In case you are interested, I'm seeing if ''The King of Fighters 95'' can become GA since that's the only Orochi game that is not GA. Feel free to give it a look Tintor2 (talk) 13:35, 8 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

This one where you linked to an article which had been previously linked, violating MOS:OVERLINK. livelikemusic (TALK!) 15:24, 18 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I see. I didn't change that in bad faith. There was no link to the album article in that section, so I added one as I thought it would be contextually relevant there. I'll read more carefully next time. MidnightMayhem 15:42, 18 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Articles for Creation backlog drive

[edit]

Hello MidnightMayhem:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in August!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than a month of outstanding reviews from the current 3+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 August 2026 through 31 August 2026.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 5000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 19 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Reverted draftification: Fahrdorf massacre

[edit]

Hi there! I wanted to let you know that I have reverted your recent draftification of Fahrdorf massacre. The Fahrdorf massacre article was previously draftified on 10 May 2026, then moved back into mainspace on 2 August 2026. Per WP:DRAFTOBJECT, articles should not be returned to draft space after a controversial draftification. Unless there is a clear conflict of interest, most editors can bypass the AfC process. They do not need permission to move their articles out of draftspace, even if their article has been declined by an AfC reviewer. If you think this article should be deleted, you can nominate it for a relevant speedy deletion criterion or AFD. If you think it can be improved, add maintenance tags. Let me know if you have any questions. Take care, Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 22:59, 2 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I apologize for the inconvenience. I did not see that the article was previously draftified in May. I do not believe the sourcing is adequate for the article to be in mainspace and will take it to AfD immediately. Thanks for reminding me of this policy. MidnightMayhem (talk) 23:20, 2 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
No worries! If you don't already use it, I would recommend installing the MoveToDraft user script, which handles a lot of the draftification steps. It also warns you of certain kinds of inappropriate draftification, e.g. an article being too old for draftification. I believe it would also warn you if the article has been draftified previously. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 23:43, 2 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Request on 00:05:20, 17 August 2026 for assistance on AfC submission by Phranosaur

[edit]

The draft as it stands has a reference to a detailed page on the specific vehicle by a UK national museum (which already has a wikipage, wikilinked in the draft). This reference 1. provides significant coverage (detailed page dedicated only to this vehicle) 2. is reliable (reputable source i.e. established domain-specific museum) 3. is independent (non-profit museum established after the vehicle left service).

There are additional references from prominent military historians (again, already with wikipage, wikilinked in the draft) of books not dedicated entirely to the vehicle itself but which explain the importance of the vehicle in the context of other significant organizations and events (again, already with wikipages, wikilinked in the draft).

As such, I do not understand what further modification you require. Please make a more detailed specific request.

Furthermore, although it doesn't directly engage with the criteria you state here, I note for background that every vehicle that has served with a major military (and even minor militaries) appears to have a wikipage as a matter of course, and there can be no doubt from the references given that this vehicle existed and that it served with the British Army. Wikipedia also does not have a policy of excluding military vehicles that did not fight in specific historical battles. Any decision to reject this vehicle in particular therefore requires specific and extraordinary justification. Phranosaur (talk) 00:05, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, it seems you're not familiar with how to evaluate sources for use on Wikipedia. The museum article is not a reliable source. It is a self-published source that was presumably written by museum staff. It does not provide an author name to verify that it was written by a subject-matter expert, or cite any of the sources that were used when writing it. Furthermore, the article is not independent because the museum has a conflict of interest with the topic of the article. They have one of these vehicles in their collection and are writing promotionally about it to solicit information and interest from the public, which is clearly indicated by the phone number and email address provided at the end.
I am not able to access the two print sources, but given that only sixteen words in your draft are cited to them, I am forced to assume that they do not provide significant coverage beyond a few paragraphs at most. If they do in fact have more details that explain the vehicle's importance as you claim, you should include that information.
As such I do not believe this draft is currently suitable for inclusion on Wikipedia. You have not established that the vehicle meets WP:GNG. I am not an expert on military history, but as I previously suggested, you might find more coverage in reliable sources that explain its uses by the British Army or any engagements it was involved in.
If you would like a second opinion, you are welcome to make improvements and submit your draft to the AfC queue again and another reviewer will reevaluate it and provide further feedback. MidnightMayhem (talk) 06:24, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
"Hi, it seems you're not familiar with how to evaluate sources for use on Wikipedia."
That's rude!
"The museum article is not a reliable source. It is a self-published source that was presumably written by museum staff."
The policy section on "self-published sources" refers to publication by individuals with no affiliation. The museum's subject matter materials are not a "self-published source" in this sense, they are an institutional publication by an institution with already established domain expertise. By your (false) standard, every newspaper article would be "self-published" as would be, e.g. Hansard or the Library of Congress.
"Furthermore, the article is not independent because the museum has a conflict of interest with the topic of the article. They have one of these vehicles in their collection and are writing promotionally about it to solicit information and interest from the public, which is clearly indicated by the phone number and email address provided at the end."
Then similarly, every newspaper article has a conflict of interest in attracting readers to that newspaper article/selling copies the newspaper. Again, this is not actually wikipedia's standard. "Conflict of interest" refers to something likely to prejudice the *content* of the description, e.g. someone selling a vehicle may have a conflict of interest to describe it as better than it is. The museum does not have any interest in describing the vehicle inaccurately as it does not produce or sell the vehicle, and in fact would damage its brand and reduce its visitor numbers as a museum if it were shown to misrepresent its artefacts. Again, the ludicrous standard you are trying to assert would exclude every museum that accepts visitors as a source, which is neither a reasonable standard nor wikipedia's practice.
"I am not able to access the two print sources, but given that only sixteen words in your draft are cited to them, I am forced to assume that they do not provide significant coverage"
Implicit in this statement is that you never read the print sources, presumably because that would require a modicum of effort from you, and so your assumptions about the sources are completely baseless.
"you might find more coverage in reliable sources that explain its uses by the British Army or any engagements it was involved in."
As is already stated in the draft, the Basil Lidell Hart British Army Official History describes the significant use of the vehicle, in perhaps the earliest combined arms exercise in the world. But, as you stated, you didn't bother to read the source (or, apparently, the precis of its contents in the article or the separate article on the exercise that is wikilinked)!
You do not seem to understand the wikipedia policies you are trying to cite, and your arguments are meandering (none of the arguments you are now trying to raise were mentioned in the response to the draft) and non-sequitur.
Therefore, I request that you refer this draft to a more experienced editor for a more appropriate review. Phranosaur (talk) 00:52, 18 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I believe your interpretation of Wikipedia policy and your judgment of the museum source are inaccurate. I have explained my reasoning and I stand by my review. As I stated, you are welcome to submit your draft to the AfC queue again and a different reviewer will reevaluate it. I will not engage further on this. MidnightMayhem (talk) 01:06, 18 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
As you decline to offer any defence of your claims and assertions, my position must be considered conclusively proved. Phranosaur (talk) 03:42, 19 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Page Rejection

[edit]

Hello, I provided independent news sources for Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, but it's still rejected. Usarugbyhistory (talk) 09:51, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, please review the Wikipedia guidelines for articles on schools. The majority of the sources provided in the draft are still directly affiliated with the school and do not contribute to notability under WP:GNG. Your new sources are independent, but one is primarily about a faculty member, not the school, and the other has only a paragraph with no significant coverage. Far more substantial sourcing is needed to prove that this meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I'm not seeing that right now, which is why the draft was rejected. MidnightMayhem (talk) 18:39, 17 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I will find better sources and then I can resubmit?
It's not really consistent as hundreds of school entries really just link back to their own websites. Usarugbyhistory (talk) 12:34, 18 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

AfC August Backlog Drive: Only ten days left!

[edit]
Our pending drafts!

Hi MidnightMayhem, thanks for participating in the Articles for Creation August Backlog Drive! We've done amazing work so far, dropping the backlog by more than 3000 drafts already. We have around 1300 drafts outstanding, and we need your help to get that down to zero in the next 10 days. We can do this, but we need all hands on deck to help make it happen – if everyone who signed up to the drive reviewed just 1–2 drafts a day for the next ten days, we'd be down to zero in no time! A list of the pending drafts can be found at WP:AFCSORT, where you can select submissions in your area of interest, or you can find a random submission here. Thank you so much for your work so far, and happy reviewing! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:20, 21 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
