Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited USATC S118 Class, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Myloi. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello, I'm Danners430. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Locomotives of the Caledonian Railway, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Danners430 (talk) 20:53, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Images are user generated content, not a reliable source. A source would be something like a news article, or a webpage from the NRM stating it’s in their collection. Danners430 (talk) 09:00, 29 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Southern Pacific 1273

edit

Hello! I looked over the article Southern Pacific 1273 and I noticed that some of the facts you added are not supported by the source. It's very important that all of the information preceding the citation is supported by it, otherwise we may mislead readers into thinking the information is sourced when it isn't. Another useful tip is that you can incubate articles in WP:DRAFT space if they're not ready, so that way you can make sure they have enough sources and more than just a few sentences. Thanks for contributing, and I hope we get to see more from you! Thebiguglyalien (talk) 18:31, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

I took source from other websites but i didn’t felt like adding all of them so i decided to add the offical Travel Town Museum’s article of the engine. Mr Mines Engine (talk) 18:34, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
You should definitely cite the sources you actually used. Saying all the information came from Travel Town Museum's article is misleading. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 18:35, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=979572 I know i got information from this. Mr Mines Engine (talk) 18:41, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Is that content that was uploaded by someone? If it is user generated content isn't reliable and shouldn't be used to write an article. Any article you write should be cited to reliable sources where you got the information. It's important that articles on Wikipedia are verifiable so readers can check the information for themselves. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 18:50, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
But thats where i got the infomation from. Mr Mines Engine (talk) 19:31, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
(talk page stalker) If information can’t be verified by reliable sources, it doesn’t belong on Wikipedia, it’s as simple as that. Danners430 (talk) 23:43, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question

edit

Can you explain why User:Aecws recreated Draft:Quincy Railroad Co. 2 the day after it was deleted for copyright violations introduced by you, and why Aecws' version of the draft was then also deleted for copyright violations from the same website as the first time? Trainsandotherthings (talk) 20:14, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

All i did on the page was submit the page, that’s all. Mr Mines Engine (talk) 20:15, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok, so you have no relation to Aecws? Trainsandotherthings (talk) 20:17, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also no i have no relation to them. Mr Mines Engine (talk) 20:20, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
No added information. Mr Mines Engine (talk) 20:20, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thanks. I got confused because you were the submitter and the decline message came to you. From a more thorough examination of the facts, the only thing I can say is you should make sure drafts you are submitting aren't copyright violations to the best of your ability. My apologies for the warning, I've removed it as you did not in fact commit any copyright violations. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 20:57, 3 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
