Confusing edit

Why did you trim this quotation? And how is removing a non-breaking space an improvement? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 12:07, 19 July 2024 (UTC)

Working on another edit, trying to fix what you asked. 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 12:29, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
Thanks kindly. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 12:34, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
Can you kindly check the edit? I also expanded the article. 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 12:36, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
A few things: first off, there's consensus at WT:ALBUM and WP:ALBUMSTYLE to not include individual tour dates. It's unfortunate for me, as I've inserted these many times, but that's the consensus. Secondly, this article uses list-defined references, so per MOS:CITEVAR, these need to be fixed. Lastly, it's still "J. D." without the non-breaking space. So if you're motivated to make those changes, then that's great. If not, and you don't mind me doing them, I will. If you think these changes should not be made at all, let me know. Either way, thanks for editing it. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 12:40, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
Making another expansion edit, I fulfilled the tour date problem and the J.D problem, but I don't know what the 2nd problem means, can you help me? 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 12:50, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
  Done. I mentioned you in an edit summary. Thanks. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 17:19, 19 July 2024 (UTC)

Pings

Hi TheNuggeteer, edits like this one will not work. To WP:PING, the template needs to be added in the same message as a new signature. The best way to ping is to add a new reply. CMD (talk) 03:12, 23 July 2024 (UTC)

Shoot, I've been using that for a while now, added a reply, thank you for telling me! 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 03:15, 23 July 2024 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. Hipal (talk) 20:28, 25 July 2024 (UTC)

@Hipal I just want to ask, what page that I had edited had contentious topics? 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 00:54, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
You've been editing a lot of articles containing biographical information of living persons.
On a related note, you may want to refer to WP:RSP and WP:RSN if you are unsure about the reliability of a reference. For example, peoplaid.com does not appear reliable. --Hipal (talk) 01:36, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
For me, PeoPlaid seems reliable, do you think I should make a discussion regarding the website? 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 03:38, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
Yes, start a discussion at WP:RSN. If you can find clearly reliable sources that comment on or use PeoPlaid, they would be helpful. --Hipal (talk) 17:21, 26 July 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Kevin Sagra

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kevin Sagra requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kevin Sagra. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. DYK for 2025 Philippine general election

On 9 August 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article 2025 Philippine general election, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the 2025 Philippine general election is set to be the first to be held under a new voting system provider after the previous one was disqualified over bribery allegations? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/2025 Philippine general election. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, 2025 Philippine general election), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Welcome to the tropical cyclone WikiProject!

Hi there Nuggeteer! (if I'm addressing you directly, does it need the "The" beforehand?)

Welcome to the tropical cyclone WikiProject, and thanks for your edits already. I saw you added some aftermath and other information to Tropical Storm Kai-tak. First off, you used sources - huge thanks for that! It's long been an issue that editors will add info without references.

One quick note about your edit. I saw you add "400-kilometer radius", "400-km diameter", and "500-km diameter" in the preparations section. Would you mind adding conversions to imperial units? I was going to do it, but I was going to reach out and welcome you anyway, and figured it's a chance for you to improve upon what you've already added. You can do something like - {{convert|400|km|mi|abbr=on}} - which is a way to automatically convert the units from one to the other. Also it's pretty minor, but consistency is ideal within articles, so I would pick either "diameter" or "radius", since one is just two times the other. Having both the metric and imperial units is a way to make Wikipedia articles accessible to everyone. Same deal with "4.1–14 meters", which you could write as 4.1 to 4.14 m (13.5 to 13.6 ft). Check the edit window if you want to see the coding for how to do that.

Again, thanks for joining the project. Let me know if you have any questions. And hopefully you're not annoyed by my nitpick here about the units, just wanted to give you a heads up in case you're sticking around ;) Cheers! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 17:16, 9 August 2024 (UTC)

Hi! Just addressing your concerns. The name is actually supposed to be full (pretty confusing). I also addressed the concerns that you made about the kilometers, thank you for noticing! Thanks, 🍗TheNuggeteer🍗 22:52, 9 August 2024 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Tropical Storm Kai-tak

The article Tropical Storm Kai-tak you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold  . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Tropical Storm Kai-tak and Talk:Tropical Storm Kai-tak/GA1 for issues which need to be addressed. DYK for Ling Nam

On 12 August 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Ling Nam, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that Tomas Fung founded the predecessor of the restaurant Ling Nam with only 3,000 Philippine pesos? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ling Nam. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Ling Nam), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Proposed deletion of Eugenio S. Daza Pilot Elementary School

The article Eugenio S. Daza Pilot Elementary School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Elementary schools are not notable and this appears to be no exception. Very generic school without substantive non-routine sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Pastonji moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Pastonji. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Ratnahastin (talk) 02:38, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
