DYK for Suicide in Greenland
On 18 March 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Suicide in Greenland, which you created or substantially expanded. FAC review
To be honest, the review at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/California State Route 67/archive1 has been one of the most unpleasant reviews that I have ever had in my 8 years of editing this site. I really wish that you would reconsider the tone you are taking with this review, as you've been unnecessarily snide, as seen with this edit summary. Moreover, it seems that you have become extremely condescending, which has become unbearable considering that I have already written three very similar articles (California State Route 78, California State Route 56, California State Route 52) and have had them pass FA. I have even considered withdrawing this nomination as it has become so unpleasant, even though your impending oppose will most likely be discounted by the FAC delegates anyway.
I welcome reviews from people who are not familiar with America, or roads, or American roads, or even the English language, but when someone not familiar with any of these tries to "call the shots" and force the nominator to make changes that do not benefit the article, that would make any subject expert want to leave this site very quickly. You've lucked out this time, since I'm pretty invested in this site and it would take a lot to get me to walk away, but you may not be so lucky with the next nominator you offend. I strongly suggest that you reconsider how you are approaching all reviewing - we are here to build an encyclopedia by consensus, not by shoving someone's aesthetic tastes down someone's throat. --Rschen7754 04:30, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

Tarakeswar affair
Apologies for replying so late. I liked the article particularly the section on Assessment and portrayal of the characters. All the three characters can be portrayed as being negative in one way or another. The section covers negative portrayal of the Mahant and Elokeshi and explains why Nobin Chandra doesn't draw the same kind of flak. It's pretty well–written. The images in the article are very similar to this image, I wonder whether they are all coming from the same source.
A few minor prose clarity issues remain. For instance, "the mahant allegedly seduced and raped her".. who alleges this? If it was Nobin or someone related to him, it would be significant enough to be mentioned here. "Despite the rape, the affair continued with..."... this is ambiguous. This is the first sentence about the affair. If the affair has continued then when did it start, did it start before or after the rape? There are at least two places where the Mahant has been called a Brahmin (for instance "immoral activities of the Brahmin mahant") and in one sentence it is said the pleas for mercy came from "the lower social hierarchy". Reading the whole article there appears to be a caste angle to the topic, but with surname like "Banerjee" (I'm not trying to do a Guha here :)), that too in 19th century Bengal, I would doubt this. If such an angle doesn't exist then it perhaps some kind of clarification right at the beginning would help. Correct Knowledge«৳alk» 23:55, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

KTM BIN
Thanks for expanding the KTM article, but, the DYK issues were already answered! Such a big hospital. Listen a story (might be very interesting)
- Incidence
My maternal aunt living in Serampore, aged around 55, faced a stroke in the first week of February, this year. She was admitted to Paramount Nursing Home of Serampore first where CT scan report showed Haemorrhagic stroke, central brain, 15 ml blood and it was found that left part of her body was paralysed.
Paramount immediately referred either SSKM Hospitalor Medial College because these hospitals had Neurology department. Now, it was a very difficult job to get a seat in both these hospitals. The brother of my aunt's husband contacted a local MLA or MP soothing who managed a seat in SSKM. She was brought to Kolkata that night. But, unfortunately it was only "Emergency observation", not a bed in real SSKM hospital (to explain, they have a ward like OPD, where they keep patients under observations, with no guarantee).
She was kept there for almost 1 day with minimum "supportive treatment" and then was sent to SSKM female medicine ward. It was not a "female medicine" issue. Generally such critical patients should be admitted in or referred to BIN. But, bed is never available in BIN.
Anyway, the RMO came after sometime, saw the patient and immediately declared that there was almost nothing to be done to save the patients. He told other hospitals refer to PG, because they "theoretically" know that the hospital has a first class neurology department, but, the reality is something different. He showed more patients (some of them with more severe stroke) had been admitted to PG's "general medicine" because there was not any bed in PG's neuromedicine too (forget the better BIN). The senior doctor came next day, reiterated the same thing that patient had no hope.
3 days passed, now a twist, someone contacted a doctor of BIN (he personally knew him). The doctor (in his home) wanted to see the CT scan report and asked how many days have passed. After that just seeing the CT scan (not even seeing the patient) he firmly told, the patient was out of danger. When we told him that the doctor that SSKM department was saying that the patient had no home, he replied with a smile ora joto ta jabe toto ta bolchhe, ei patient sere gachhe, bari niye jaan, 3 mash lagbe bichhana theke uthte, 1 bochhor lagbe hantte (walk). On that doctor's request (that doctor was a neurosurgery's doctor) a doctor from BIN's neuromedicine came to visit the patient at PG's female medicine, asked to omit saline and gave other instructions.
The patient was released at the end of Feb. The doctor (RMO) of SSKM had some "no comment please" type attitude at the end.
- Good
The good part is she has been "miraculously recovery". Though the BIN neurosurgeon told, 3 mash lagbe bichhana theke uthte, 1 bochhor lagbe hantte (walk), she has started walking (almost) in just 42 days!
- Bad
The bad part is, just yesterday she has been admitted to KPC Medical college. according to KPC's RMO's first observation: she has got some tumor in lower part of body which might be malignant too (completely unrelated to previous stroke), Proctoscopy and colonoscopy are being done now!
- Ugly
BIN IS a major hospital of Kolkata, but, I am facing lots of trouble to answer the issues mentioned here --Tito Dutta (contact) 17:57, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Looks good; just reread it. I don't think I have any further comments there, except one: there shouldn't be references in image captions. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:09, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 10
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Pilak, Tripura, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Belonia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Sholay
R u working on improving Sholay? There is one statement in the casting section which describes Dharmendra's failed attempt to portray Thakur Sahab, with a dead link. Pls replace it with a new source, i think Anupama Chopra's book Sholay: The Making of a Classic (pages 35 to 36) is the best around. Kailash29792 (talk) 14:14, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

Sholay
Hmm. Keep on improving it where you can, and let me look it over again in a few days. As with all older Indian films, there are probably some claims that may be hard to back up. I am still involved with getting Priyanka Chopra to FA, but we have some new help on that now. Sholay would certainly be a good one to do this year, as would possibly Mughal-e-Azam. Have you looked at that one? BollyJeff | talk 18:03, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, whatever you think, but some of that is already in the Origin section. Actually, it might be much easier to get a film to FA than an actor. BollyJeff | talk 18:16, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
- I need help with these footnotes. I changed the Chopra from 'citation...' to 'cite book' style, like most of the others. But when I tried to then change the footnotes from harv to sfn (again like the others), I got lots of errors like this "Cite error: ref tag with name "FOOTNOTEChopra200025.E2.80.9328" defined in references is not used in prior text;". Any idea how to fix this? I think the references will need to be consistent. BollyJeff | talk 15:11, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
- Can you help with the sfn/harv sources now? I left one in a bad state so that you can see the problem that I was having with the others. BollyJeff | talk 01:45, 13 April 2013 (UTC)

- One may even want to archive all the url's in Sholay to avoid link rotting. Kailash29792 (talk) 04:48, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
In the themes section there are a couple sentences from Prasad that have cites to Banerjea as well. Why is that? I get the feeling that more could be done with access to the books, but I am kinda stuck now. How did you get so many sources for Mother India? BollyJeff | talk 14:55, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
- Do you think it is comprehensive enough now? I think that Mughal-e-Azam may actually be better suited for an FA try from a completeness point, but if you want to go ahead with Sholay that's fine. BollyJeff | talk 18:36, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
DYK for Kali the Mother (poem)
On 17 April 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Kali the Mother (poem), which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that in the poem Kali the Mother written by Swami Vivekananda in 1898, the poet worshipped the terrible form of Hindu goddess Kali (pictured)? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Kali the Mother (poem). You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Great Eastern Hotel
Hi Dwai. I created Great Eastern Hotel (Kolkata). Apparently it was privatized in 2005 but I'm not sure what its current status is - whether it is a functioning hotel or about a derelict as ever. Perhaps you (or Amartya or Tito or your other page stalkers!) know more? --regentspark (comment) 14:52, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
- The last time I saw the hotel, it was still in renovation (2-3 years ago). It seems it was supposed to open in 2013, per this report in Times of India.--Dwaipayan (talk) 15:29, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. What about the architect - Dulal Mukerjee - would there be enough to start an article on him? --regentspark (comment) 15:44, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
- I dont think Dulal Mukherjee is notable enough, yet, to start an article on. Great Eastern article is actually a very good one for DYK. Slight more meat is needed. Moreover, there are old images of the hotel which can be added.--Dwaipayan (talk) 15:53, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
- Added image. Hopefully with the correct licensing! --regentspark (comment) 16:06, 11 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thank god you are not a woman Dwaipayan!!, otherwise under the new amendement to Indian Penal Code I could have been booked for cyberstalking. :P Great Eastern is still under renovation. They have added a new wing, you can see the GMap update discussion here GMaps Few pics in January 2013 Official page stating they will open in 2013. I have seen some interior pictures in Skyscrapercity, but finding it difficult to trace back. Amartyabag TALK2ME 15:37, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
