Community de-Adminship - finalization poll for the CDA proposal
editAfter tolling up the votes in the revision proposals, it emerged that 5.4 had the most support, but elements of that support remained unclear, and various comments throughout the polls needed consideration.
A finalisation poll (intended, if possible, to be one last poll before finalising the CDA proposal) has been run to;
- gather opinion on the 'consensus margin' (what percentages, if any, have the most support) and
- ascertain whether there is support for a 'two-phase' poll at the eventual RfC (not far off now), where CDA will finally be put to the community. Matt Lewis (talk) 01:05, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Abuse template
editThanks for your interest, It is not a question of ownership. Actually it would be nice if somebody took on some some of my workload on Wikipedia and helped me out - i end up doing far too much. User:Kasaalan has recently been doing quite a few changes to the template and i have left it to him. The template is important to me because i think it helps to compliment the abuse article that i have had to work on single handedly but not through choice.
I made the point many times in the original TFD that there was a valid discussion to be had on the template talk pages about pruning and the idea was discussed here in detail: Wikipedia:Templates_for_discussion/Log/2010_January_24#Instead_discussing_over_deletion_why_don.27t_we_improve_the_template
--Penbat (talk) 21:20, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
- Well, this is a problem that the abuse article has as well: it attempts to collect everything far too much. I just went thru and pruned some bogus "main article" links on the various sections (though there's still more that can be done). I have no problem taking a pair of pruning scissors to {{abuse}}, especially if it'll save the template... honestly, I think the only reason that anyone is for its deletion is because of its excessive scope. Pruning would save it. EVula // talk // ☯ // 21:22, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
- The abuse article may have room for improvement but before i overhauled it it was a seriously embarrassing DAB page for years. The abuse article is still work in progress but it is still vastly better than the old DAB page.--Penbat (talk) 21:26, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Putting a pic which is on de.wikipedia onto Commons
editHi: I know you're busy and I feel a bit silly that I can't figure out how to do this myself, but it looks daunting. I updated Gundremmingen Nuclear Power Plant, which had been based on a December 2007 version of the de.wikipedia page, and there is now a picture there that I'd like to use here on en., but I can't since it's not on Commons. I asked how at the Help Desk and was referred to you. They confirmed my reading of the image license as being acceptable. Absolutely no urgency, and if you can't help I'll ask the uploader/creator in case he/she is willing and able. In case you can't read the description, it's a picture of a model of the plant in the Info Center. Yngvadottir (talk) 21:40, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
- See WP:Moving to Commons. The process would be almost exactly the same. It's cc-by-sa licensed, so good for commons. –xenotalk 21:49, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
- ...yeah, what he said. :) If you're unsure of what exactly to do, I'll try to remember to give it a crack when I get home from rehearsal. I don't speak German, but that's never stopped me before. :) EVula // talk // ☯ // 23:31, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
possible username violation
editSince I know you are active with user name policy and change (and your stalkers as well, this page is watched more than ANI), I thought I would bring 69 expert (talk · contribs) to your attention. Seems vulgar, but it may not matter too much since all he's done so far is vandalize Marine Corps Martial Arts Program twice. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 03:31, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
- I'd block 'em for a username violation and be done with. I've got a ridiculously high tolerance for vulgarity, but the fact that neither edit of theirs is productive makes me willing to assume a vandalism-only account. Fire and forget. :) EVula // talk // ☯ // 06:29, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
- If I was an admin, I'd be all over that. Can you take care of it? bahamut0013wordsdeeds 23:16, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
- P.S. really hope you can make it to the Raleigh meetup. I think it would be a great time to get to meet the man behind the myth. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 02:41, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
- Meh, totally missed your follow-up due to being too busy to check my talk page. Sorry. I'd block him, but it seems like he's died off; no point in doing anything. (also: I didn't realize that you weren't an admin until just now. Get thyself to a nunnery sometime.)
As for the meetup, I'd love it if I could go, but it's just not going to work for me, sadly. Too much stuff going on right now; the show I'm doing runs until the end of the month, and then I've got effectively one weekend (the 5th/6th) to do stuff that's been put off due to the show. The next weekend is booked up, and the following three are another show. *sigh* EVula // talk // ☯ // 17:12, 17 February 2010 (UTC)- This sums it up: you'd have to convince me that I would be useful with a mop to put myself through that kind of pain. Of course, you'd have to recuse yourself from being the closing crat, and without that avenue of dishonesty closed, I have no way left to actually pass; crash and burn. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 00:11, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
- I take that back... it might be worth it just to get into #wikipedia-en-admins. When I read this, I assumed it would be bangin, but #wikipedia-en just is boring. I guess all of the admins are much cooler than mortals. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 00:30, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

editbg:Жест. LOL, you are famous in Bulgaria.
How was your production? bahamut0013wordsdeeds 16:09, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
- ...holy shit, that just made my day.
- The run went well. Closing night was stressful as hell, chiefly due to a doorknob being broken during the first act (and frantically fixed at intermission), one of the bathrooms getting locked (and someone suggesting there might be someone passed out inside; there wasn't), and then Vera's belt-clip snapping in the midst of all that. Oh, and my heat died on Saturday, so it's about 55 degrees in my house right now. Lovely. EVula // talk // ☯ // 17:12, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
- See, and my wife was mocking me on Saturday because I delayed our breakfast outing to find my pocketknife. At least I don't normally insist on being armed at a thespian outing.
- Do invest in a Snuggie till the furnace man comes by. bahamut0013wordsdeeds 18:36, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, at thespian outings, I've got two knives; there's Vera, naturally, but there's also a knife on my leatherman that I keep on my Batman-esque belt when I'm backstage. :) EVula // talk // ☯ // 20:24, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
- I usually have my Leatherman on my belt when I wear utilities, but then, I frequently use it for the screwdrivers or vice grips, not the knife. I couldn't imaginge using that dinky thing for my death-inflicting needs. In any case, I'm too lazy to take it off of my belt, so it stays there until I have to wash the trousers.
- Though, I run a little computer-repair business on weekends, so I have my own utility belt and a toolbox for that as well. But... Bulgarian. LOL! XD bahamut0013wordsdeeds 20:45, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, the chief uses for my leatherman are the three screwdrivers. When I do Shakespeare in the Park over the summer, I use the vice grips when setting up and tearing down the lights every night. The knife only gets used when I need a nice smooth cut (the curvature and serration of Vera can get in the way sometimes). But considering how frequently people get freaked out when they watch me twirling my knife on my palm (though I do that will literally anything and everything: my maglite, phone, wallet, random cups...), it's still fun to point out that I've got two knives on me. :) EVula // talk // ☯ // 21:13, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
