Hi, jadger here again. user:Serafin has been blocked for a month, but keeps using his other IP addresses that have not been blocked for as long. should they not be blocked for the duration of his block? he is still personally attacking me and user:Richardshusr at Talk:Expulsion of Germans after World War II.

Also, please check out User:Xx236's comments on that same page, such as where he starts flaming me, stating: The discussion here isn't between Poles and Germans, but is caused by a Canadian Prussian. OR Would someone neutral ask Jadger to concentrate on the article rather than on me and the Prussian glory? What exactly is a "full AfD"? Just because it was AfD'd once does not mean it has to stay deleted. Also, at least one other administrator thinks this article should be here; the logs show that User:Carnildo restored it on February 6, with the summary "One of the founding Keenspot comics? Check out the style guidelines for film articles. Deleted Article

Hello,

I had 3 pages on wikipedia and I submitted 2 for deletion but all 3 are gone. I had real age Real Age and RealAge. The only correct on was RealAge and I did everything I was supposed to. All my images were copywrite tagged properly and all the info was factual and all my sources were cited. I worked for days learning how to use wikipedia and uploading images and I finally had it perfect last night. I don't have a back up of the final version. I am a student at SDSU and I have to turn that page in for a grade today and now I am freaking out, as you can imagine. Everything I have done, all my images, pages ect are gone like they never happened, there is no way I can do another page in just one day. I just don't understand why it was taken down? Can you please put it back up, and all my pictures too?

RE: deleted article

I understand it is not for "homework assignments", however people contribute for many reasons, as long as the information meets requirements no one questions why the good information go there, they are just happy it is there. I use this site for research all the time and I never meant for my only contribution to be written like an advertisement. I needed to learn how to use an online resource and I love this one so I chose it. I truly did find this company interesting and I wanted users to get better info when they searched online then just being directed to the site. I was trying to explain the site so people would have a better understanding of what it did, the goal was to be historical and informational. The health resources are interesting and there is not another site with a test like that. Can you at least tell me a better way to write it to meet your standards, because grade aside I do feel this information should be on wikipedia for people to read about and I would like to make it right and submit it again. I emailed it to you. I encourage you to *not* simply repost it, because it will be deleted again. If you were to rewrite it so it doesn't sound like an advertisement, it would still need to meet standards of notability, which it doesn't at the moment. There's not much to say unless you really think it meets the notability guidelines at WP:WEB. If it did, it would need a complete rewrite not to sound so spammy. Why did you delete that page, everything on it was accurate? If you don't think that intramural volleyball is a meaningful topic then that is a matter of personal judgment. Hello Drkimca. It was deleted for two reasons: because it did not assert notability, and because it sounded like an advertisment. Red Orchestra is different because it has a claim of notability (as the winner of game prizes and such), and it's written encyclopedically. Hi Aili, I'm sorry the original post sounded like an advertisement. As far as the "advertisement" tone of the post; I don't think the original poster understood the Wiki style criteria. Perhaps if you would undelete the page, it could be modified to the proper style. Frag-Ops is a non-commercial, volunteer project (like the Wikipedia) and its userbase are an enthusiastic group.

As far as "notability," this is a significant mod for the Unreal 2 engine and has been worked on and played by users around the world (like "Red Orchestra" and other Unreal mods covered in Wikipedia.)

I submitted an article today for Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist. I was just notified that you deleted it because you thought it was advertising. Please allow me to explain more about CMPS. The mortgage industry has been highly unregulated with many originators practicing in an unscrupulous manner. To address these concerns and raise the level of professionalism in the mortgage industry, the CMPS Institute was formed in 2005. I added a paragraph just before you deleted it addressing who oficially recognizes the certification. First, the national CFP Board (Certified Financial Planner) approved the CMPS curriculum for 13 hours of continuing education for CFP practitioners. (Please see the Certified Financial Planner article in Wikipedia.) Also, many states require continuing education for mortgage professionals to maintain licensure. The CMPS curriculum has been approved in the following statse: CA (14 hours), FL (10 hours), IL (6 hours), MD (14 hours), PA (4 hours), TX (7 hours), UT (14 hours).

Our founder and chairmain, Gibran Nicholas, was just interviewed by PBS, and we thought it was important to have an entry on Wikipedia as people have questions about CMPS. We are the first and most widely recognized mortgage planning certification program in the United States.

Hello Beth Maybee. Thank you for being polite and professional. Unfortunately I cannot restore the article at this time. It does not conform to several Wikipedia guidelines:

1. It sounds like an advertisment. Wikipedia's speedy deletion guideline "G11" states, "Pages which exclusively promote a company, product, group, service or person and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic [are candidates for speedy deletion]." I'm afraid your article would need to be fundamentally rewritten. I would be happy to e-mail its contents to you if you do not have a copy on your own computer.
2. It does not assert notability. Basically it needs to answer the question, "Why does this matter?"
3. Your username (CMPSadministration) indicates you are intimately involved in this topic, which constitutes a conflict of interest. While you are not forbidden from editing such articles, it is simply bad form to do so. If this topic is notable enough for Wikipedia, an unrelated party will write about it.

What would you be referring to when you state that you deleted this picture for "improper license?" I read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:CSD#Images.2FMedia , and see that images uploaded with permission are deleted. How would I go about uploading a picture then? I e-mailed the webmaster of the site I retrieved the image from, and he or she granted me permission to use it on any website as long as I linked back to their website, www.arkgallery.org. Scharks' RfA

Hi Nishkid. I read your !vote at Scharks' RfA. I don't have any personal interest in Scharks, and I didn't know him/her before reading this RfA. But I just wanted to say that it would be easy for him to start out with the easy XfD decisions, and work his way up to the harder ones. The fact that he doesn't have much experience with it now doesn't mean he'd be bad at closing a unanimous keep, for instance. I just wanted to bring this up because it's my belief that RfA standards have, in general, increased so greatly that we might be preventing good and dedicated editors from becoming admins. I understand your opinion, but I respectfully disagree. From my own personal experiences, I know that if I hadn't been involved in XfDs prior to becoming an admin, I would not have been able to help out much in that sector. You learn a great deal about policy while participating in XfDs, and I feel participating in XfDs would help Scharks be prepared when he has to close XfDs in the future. Re:Doc tropics

Hi - yeah, we worked together until mid-December - we had several good sessions. Its been over 2 months since he's been inactive and he hasn't responded to my email. We can definitely continue where we left off if/when he comes back, but there was nothing else to do but say that our coaching work is over for now. RFA comment followup

Hello George. I was reading over your RfA, and I have a question for you. Do you still hold to your statement at ArbCom?:
"Posting someone's real life id info online is not a real life attack. A real life attack is being punched or having someone pull a gun or knife on you, or at the very least someone having made a real world information attack such as harrassing phone calls to you, your friends or relatives or employers, etc. It is quite serious to have people going around posting personal details online that you want kept private. But it's not a real life attack. You do not have perspective here."[1]

I would appreciate any context and background you could provide. I did not follow and have not read that whole ArbCom case, and I don't need a lot of details about your interaction with MONGO. Thanks for your question.

My particular argument over the issue which you got the quote of mine from was roughly this... sometimes, online conflicts escalate into real life in some form or another. I'd establish a scale of levels something like:

1. Just online arguing
2. Online threats
3. Threats using real-world info, but made online
4. Threats made in real world
5. Physical attacks in real world

I have seen incidents which went all the way up to a real-world physical attack, and a number where people were threatened in real life (in person or on the phone). I've been the recipient of some of them. I take those very seriously, particularly the ones that escalate into physical attacks.

I also know that people who are threatened online, particularly ones who have real-world info like names, phone numbers, home addresses, employer info posted or used in the threat, often take it very seriously and feel threatened.

My point was that the last two, where some sort of actual contact is made offline, are on a different level than ones where the contact is purely online. The vast overwhelming majority of threat cases which start online end there without anything serious coming from it, even if a name or phone number or home address are used as part of the threat.

I don't think that "only online" means that you don't take such threats seriously, particularly if they did dig up real life info. But I think it's important to keep in mind that it can be much worse than that, and that once it does cross into actually real world actions, it's much more serious.

The particular threats to MONGO reached (as far as I am aware) the third level, with some of his personal and employer info posted at ED and Wikipedia, but not further. If any more happened than that, he didn't say anything online that I saw.

I am entirely in agreement with WP enforcing the policy of letting pseudonymous editors and admins stay that way and protecting privacy; I don't live that way myself, I think it's not a big deal, but that's the standard we've set for WP and I don't want people feeling threatened by abusers getting away with posting real life info.

I do want to keep a line there, between "posted someone's real life info" and "called them or approached them threateningly in real life", and then between that and "physically attacked someone in real life". WP policy doesn't require we instantly permanently ban for accidental or relatively minor personal information releases, though it's a problem and we do need to take it seriously, particularly if it's part of a wider harrassment campaign. We should for real life harrassing phone calls, in-person threats, or in-person attacks, and those justify involving the police as well.

Some sort of software glitch happened, and I was unable to remove thousands of pages from my watchlist. I'd click "remove from watchlist", and it would say "removed successfully", but they would still be there. At the end, I had over 10,000 articles on my watchlist with no end in sight. No one was able to offer a suggestion to remove the unwanted items, and I couldn't do a very good job trying to monitor that many items. I finally made the reluctant decision to try to just remove all items, which worked, but of course wiped out everything. I saw that you were the editor of record removing the SAINT (software) page. I would like advice in what ways the contents of the page may be altered to make the article not advertisement. Hi Naraht. To be honest, Nessus (software) is mostly unreadable to me. It should really be cleaned up to remove all the technobabble. Regarding SAINT (software), the loudest indicator of spam is the use of the "®", and the outlining of certain products or services in the headers. But basically it just looks like it's trying to sell it to me. As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia really doesn't need a blow-by-blow description of exactly what the product does or what makes it cool. We need to know why it matters. Does this help? There are also various article-writing help pages you can look at, like Wikipedia:Guide to writing better articles. LuxSci

Hey there,

I see that you just deleted the page I added for LuxSci due to it being to close to an advertisement, and I was hoping I could get it undeleted so that I can continue working on it. My intention was not to promote this page as an advertisement, but rather to inform about the specific differences that set it apart from some of the other services like Gmail. Is there a specific section in the article that's causing it to be classified as an advertisement? Or was it just because it didn't present enough information yet? Please let me know what I can do to improve upon it so that the page remains up.

We need to discuss an appropriate way to handle names that already exist. I've been removing them and e-mailing the users in question to pick a new username. Replying on the Request an account page is an issue, because most of the editors of that page overwrite other people's requests as it is, and more text can only make it more confusing. Fairfield University Template

The image in the template that you erased was a logo and not fair use image that I enhanced in paintbrush. I did this in the same manner as done on the Duke template. Please help me understand the difference. I really get frustrated when I spend a considerable amount of time creating content and then others swoop in and just erase everything that I have done. Unfortunately, logos (at least those that use the {{logo}} tag, are fair use images. Wikipedia:Fair use, under "policy", says Fair use images may be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are not covered under the fair use doctrine. They should never be used on templates (including stub templates and navigation boxes) or on user pages. Hi - I have a suggestion to make - is it a good idea to have all the coaching sessions to be conducted on subpages of the main project page, like Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Training/Username? The benefits include:

1. Making it easy to keep track of status/activity.
2. Have a single reference point and working place for coaches and students.
3. Keep the coaching systematic - the instruction, exercises and subject matter.
4. Have a permanent archive of records and resources to help others. It may help to have old sessions as records and references for anybody interested in this.
5. It may also help in the way that other coaches and interested parties can chip in and give some valuable feedback. If a coach has questions or is uncertain, that could certainly help. Plus, the co-coaching can be organized easily.

Pre-Mastered Compact Disc

Hi Fang Aili. I have made the page with the intention to describe the PMCD which is a working tool for professionals in my field of work (Mastering engineer).

I didn't mean to advertise anything, probably the names Sonic solutions and Sony were the triggers (I am assuming) but, if so, it's a historic fact that these 2 companies created this important tool.

Maybe because, in today's industy, the use of 8mm DDP, which was the usual format of transferring audio production to glass master CD is been made obsolete and that 95% of all Cd manufacturing in the world is through the use of this format (PMCD)? Dear Fang Aili, This is in regards to a page created by me a s "Music mastering". As I was waiting for your answer about the external links question, i have been accused of Spam, and my externals were deleted. I guess the answer was "not allowed". I should have waited for your answer first, and so I am sorry I included those external links.

Nevertheless, I would like to request you go to "Audio mastering" and either delete the "Overview" or take out any mentions of mastering engineers and studios which represent a fragrant violation of the Wiki terms. Also i move to request that you delete the sub-article on "Software" which is nothing but publicity for software manufacturers.

It's time to clean up the real spam somebody in particular (With an unknown IP address located in Califorina) believe its' all I intend to do at Wikipedia.

For the record, it's not necessary to mention any mastering engineer, specially one on the merit that he worked with signed major artists. The reason is, it requires less skill to apply mastering to a professional mixed material, such as mixes from successful recording studios as opposed to amateur recordings.

Just because a mastering engineer received famous groups and awards for performing this service, it doesn't make him the authority on the subject.

Second, the need to mention names and businesses should be weighted against the need to keep this topic open for expansion and clarification. The history of mastering is irrelevant for the user at Wikipedia or I will also have to start arguing that its inventor was New York's first mastering engineer, Dick Charles.Evinatea 03:55, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Regarding your questions:

1. Delete audio mastering? Why? To be honest, I have not read it. If you think it needs work, go ahead and edit it.
