I am presuming this is a sock IP address used by the user Josepolivares which was blocked indefinitely due to the use of multiple accounts in an illegitimate way. That's twice in three days this IP address has been used to make edits in an illegitimate way. If anyone notices this kind of activity once more (from you, Govvy or anyone else), an administrator may block the IP address (or any others caught doing the same activity from Aguas de Chapeco[1] or nearby. This appears to happen to only the current squad of Barcelona. Iggy (Swan) 18:22, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
- ?? Whats going on? Govvy (talk) 21:39, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Govvy: A blocked user appears to be using at least one IP address to continually make the same changes to Barcelona players' articles, such as the one you reverted at Nelson Semedo earlier. Kosack (talk) 21:50, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
- k, I noticed whoever it was had the same agenda on a few Barcelona player articles, well looks like Iggy geo-traced the IP to Brazil, still if they are using static it be easy to lock down, if it's a few dynamics it's more annoying, but if I notice it again I am going to revert. wayne fereday
why did you remove the details of waynes children and grandchildren?? as a relative of Waynes, this was not your right to do so. I don't really care who you are, but as for future reference, do not remove family information. It is not your place to do so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Millie89 (talk • contribs) 22:40, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
Hi Kosack, I wanted to check if you would have time to provide feedback for an FLC. Whenever you have the time though. It has undergone a copy-edit for the lead, and comments for format and structure from a reviewer. I would appreciate feedback from you as well. Cheers! --Pseud 14 (talk) 10:50, 28 February 2018 (UTC)

I edited Tammy Abraham's page with an update of his earlier career, from when he was an Under-7 playing for Bruin JFC. I was his coach and a friend of the family. I was about to upload a picture from that time when i got your message. I am unable to send or upload a picture at the moment, the picture was taken by me in 2006. I can confirm that the information i provided is true about Tammy's earlier career.Anthony Atilola (talk) 19:11, 5 March 2018 (UTC)

Ragnar Klavan
Hi,
RE my edits on the Ragnar Klavan page, I sourced this information from the player himself while conducting this interview: http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/290013-ragnar-klavan-liverpool-exclusive-interview
I didn't use that snippet of information in the write-up but he categorically stated that he had never trialled with any English clubs.
I'm guessing I can't delete this erroneous information without an 'online source' despite knowing it to be completely false?
Whoever wrote the Sky piece pointed to as a source has made this up.

ACTRIAL:
- ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.
Paid editing
- Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.
Subject-specific notability guidelines
- The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
- Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies. A further discussion is currently taking place at: Can a subject specific guideline invalidate the General Notability Guideline?
Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled
- While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.
News
- The next issue Wikipedia's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. The Signpost is one of the best ways to stay up date with news and new developments - please consider subscribing to it. Hi Kosack, just to say I made a slight correction to the Enoch Mort article as the debut year appeared to be wrong. It looks like the game in question is this one - the dates/score don't fit for that fixture the previous season and 1934 fits with the Coventry Telegraph ref showing he had joined in Feb '34. WOSO Task Force News: April 2018
Women's Football / Soccer Task Force News: April 2018 |
Hello WOSO editors! A few initiatives have been started with an emphasis on making more WOSO links blue (similar to the work that WikiProject Women in Red does) and filling in the gaps within various league, team, and player, etc. articles. If you're interested in collaborating with others to make more links blue, take a look at the initiatives listed in the box below. Sign up at the bottom of an initiative page and help grow the lists, add potential references, resources, and create the articles ... or create your own initiative.
WP:GNG takes precedence over WP:NFOOTY (which only includes the players in 1 active women's league)? Often times there is enough media coverage that meets WP:GNG or other notability guidelines. For more information, see WP:WOSO#Notability and be sure to tag the new article talk page with: {{WP Women's sport|footy=yes}}
Want some tips, assistance, or resources from other WOSO editors? |
Thank you for your continued contributions to articles related to women's football / soccer (WOSO)! |

DYK nomination approval ticks
Kosack, instead of substituting {{DYKtick}} when you approve DYK nominations, you've been adding a direct link to the file as "File:symbol confirmed.svg". The problem is that the substitution result is "File:Symbol confirmed.svg", with a capital "S", and it is that exact name and orthography that Wugbot looks for when deciding which nominations have been approved and ready to be moved to the Approved nominations page. Please, if you're going to use the the icon directly rather than substituting it, use the exact orthography the substitution creates for this tick (and the AGF tick as well, should you need to use it), so the bot does the moving properly. I've just corrected half a dozen of your approvals by capitalizing the "S"; thanks for doing so many reviews lately! I expect they'll all move to the Approved page when the bot runs at 01:00 UTC. WikiCup 2018 May newsletter
The second round of the 2018 WikiCup has now finished. Most contestants who advanced to the next round scored upwards of 100 points, but two with just 10 points managed to scrape through into round 3. Our top scorers in the last round were:
- Cas Liber, our winner in 2016, with three featured articles
- Iazyges, with nine good articles and lots of bonus points
- Yashthepunisher, a first time contestant, with two featured lists
- SounderBruce, a finalist last year, with seventeen good topic articles
- Usernameunique, a first time contestant, with fourteen DYKs
- Muboshgu, a seasoned competitor, with three ITNs and
- Courcelles, another first time contestant, with twenty-seven GARs
So far contestants have achieved twelve featured articles between them and a splendid 124 good articles. Commendably, 326 GARs have been completed during the course of the 2018 WikiCup, so the backlog of articles awaiting GA review has been reduced as a result of contestants' activities. As we enter the third round, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 2 but before the start of round 3 can be claimed in round 3. Remember too that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met; most of the GARs are fine, but a few have been a bit skimpy.
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article nominations, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! NPR Newsletter No.11 25 May 2018
ACTRIAL:
- WP:ACREQ has been implemented. The flow at the feed has dropped back to the levels during the trial. However, the backlog is on the rise again so please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day; a backlog approaching 5,000 is still far too high. An effort is also needed to ensure that older unsuitable older pages at the back of the queue do not get automatically indexed for Google.
Deletion tags
- Do bear in mind that articles in the feed showing the trash can icon may have been tagged by inexperienced or non NPR rights holders. They require your further verification.
Backlog drive:
- A backlog drive will take place from 10 through 20 June. Check out our talk page at WT:NPR for more details. NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.
Editathons
- There will be a large increase in the number of editathons in June. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
Paid editing - new policy
- Now that ACTRIAL is ACREQ, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary. There is a new global WMF policy that requires paid editors to connect to their adverts.
Subject-specific notability guidelines
- The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
- Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies.
Not English
- A common issue: Pages not in English or poor, unattributed machine translations should not reside in main space even if they are stubs. Please ensure you are familiar with WP:NPPNE. Check in Google for the language and content, tag as required, then move to draft if they do have potential.
News
- Development is underway by the WMF on upgrades to the New Pages Feed, in particular ORES features that will help to identify COPYVIOs, and more granular options for selecting articles to review.
- The next issue of The Signpost has been published. The newspaper is one of the best ways to stay up to date with news and new developments. between our newsletters.

List of Wales international footballers
Seriously? There is no consensus, nor is a consensus required or relevant. 99% of international and club team pages do not have a photo of the player with most appearances and most goals and where they do it's usually a retired or ex player hence nothing to maintain. Gunter isn't even the most capped player. More to the point, it wasn't a typo it was not maintained and repeating the same thing 3 times on the same page is again unnecessary and obviously won't be maintained consistently. You are just wasting your time. There is no benefit to the page and reader only disbenefit.Pwimageglow (talk) 14:17, 1 June 2018 (UTC)

WikiCup 2018 July newsletter
The third round of the 2018 WikiCup has now come to an end. The 16 users who made it to the fourth round had at least 227 points. Our top scorers in round 3 were:
- Courcelles, a first time contestant, with 1756 points, a tally built largely on 27 GAs related to the Olympics
- Cas Liber, our winner in 2016, with two featured articles and three GAs on natural history and astronomy topics
- SounderBruce, a finalist last year, with a variety of submissions related to transport in the state of Washington
Contestants managed 7 featured articles, 4 featured lists, 120 good articles, 1 good topic, 124 DYK entries, 15 ITN entries, and 132 good article reviews. Over the course of the competition, contestants have completed 458 GA reviews, in comparison to 244 good articles submitted for review and promoted. As we enter the fourth round, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 3 but before the start of round 4 can be claimed in round 4. Please also remember that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met. Please also remember that all submissions must meet core Wikipedia policies, regardless of the review process; several submissions, particularly in abstruse or technical areas, have needed additional work to make them completely verifiable.
Good luck! Hi Kosack, I'm planning on reviewing your GA nomination for Trézéguet but I don't want to start just yet. Joe Hart Edit Revision
Joe Hart You reverted the edit by claiming that Joe "Being omitted from the WC squad doesn't mean he's no longer playing." He is not listed as a current team member on the FA's website. There is a current England team and he is not on it. Therefore, saying he "plays as a goalkeeper for Manchester City and the English national team" is only true in the habitual aspect and not the present tense in which that sentence would most frequently be read. --Bcadam (talk) 03:58, 11 July 2018 (UTC)

NPR Newsletter No.12 30 July 2018
|
Hello Kosack, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!
- June backlog drive
Overall the June backlog drive was a success, reducing the last 3,000 or so to below 500. However, as expected, 90% of the patrolling was done by less than 10% of reviewers.
Since the drive closed, the backlog has begun to rise sharply again and is back up to nearly 1,400 already. Please help reduce this total and keep it from raising further by reviewing some articles each day.
- New technology, new rules
- New features are shortly going to be added to the Special:NewPagesFeed which include a list of drafts for review, OTRS flags for COPYVIO, and more granular filter preferences. More details can be found at this page.
- Probationary permissions: Now that PERM has been configured to allow expiry dates to all minor user rights, new NPR flag holders may sometimes be limited in the first instance to 6 months during which their work will be assessed for both quality and quantity of their reviews. This will allow admins to accord the right in borderline cases rather than make a flat out rejection.
- Current reviewers who have had the flag for longer than 6 months but have not used the permissions since they were granted will have the flag removed, but may still request to have it granted again in the future, subject to the same probationary period, if they wish to become an active reviewer.
- Editathons
- Editathons will continue through August. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
- The Signpost
- The next issue of the monthly magazine will be out soon. The newspaper is an excellent way to stay up to date with news and new developments between our newsletters. If you have special messages to be published, or if you would like to submit an article (one about NPR perhaps?), don't hesitate to contact the editorial team here.
