New Page Review Newsletter No.10
ACTRIAL:
- ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.
Paid editing
- Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.
Subject-specific notability guidelines
- The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
- Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies. A further discussion is currently taking place at: Can a subject specific guideline invalidate the General Notability Guideline?
Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled
- While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.
News
- The next issue Wikipedia's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. The Signpost is one of the best ways to stay up date with news and new developments - please consider subscribing to it. All editors of Wikipedia and associated projects are welcome to submit articles on any topic for consideration by the The Signpost's editorial team for the next issue.

Page moves of Italian Open
I don't think your page moves are going to fly. It's one thing to move categories to the same title, but you can't just move something like "2014 Internazionali BNL d'Italia" to "2014 Italian Open (tennis)." All tennis articles are done this way... thousands upon thousands of them. We use a non-sponsored generic name for the entire event because in any given year the event name could be different. But for that particular year the name will not change. This move goes against long-standing consensus for all tennis tournaments and it will require much debate to change that. Please move the tournaments back to the way they were so someone else doesn't have to. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 04:04, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
- Not to cherry pick source and policy (such as Wikipedia:Article titles (point Consistency ) and Wikipedia:COMMONAME). The common name of the individual season was still Italian Open in secondary source.[1][2][3] It seem something to have to sortout inside Wikipedia:WikiProject Tennis for not applies wikipedia-wide policy. Matthew_hk tc 04:12, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
- Adding citation done in sample article 2017 Italian Open (tennis) for the name, but the rest of the content the article was still unsourced. May be i would bring the case to Wikipedia:Village pump to fix all the tennis season article title to in lieu with their main article and common name in the reliable secondary source (e.g. BBC, The Guardian) Matthew_hk tc 04:38, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
- update. so far citing the name was done for 2010 to 2017 seasons. All use Italian Open. Despite mostly are BBC articles and some are Associated Press, it should have room to improve. Matthew_hk tc 05:33, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

- I'm not saying I completely disagree with you, especially for the Italian Open. But take the Indian Wells Open/Masters. It is very common to call it by it's sponsored name the BNP Paribas Open. Which is true with many tennis tournaments such as the Miami Open which was commonly called the Sony Ericsson Open. What we've tried to do is go with the official English name in any yearly article, and the non-sponsored common name for articles that deal with the tournament in general. It has worked pretty well and kept arguments down, and I don't see any real need to change things. To be honest I'd probably lean more your way for many tennis events, but I'm not going to rock the boat unless a tennis-wide RfC takes place that changes long-standing consensus. Fyunck(click) (talk) 09:12, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
- For other case i would certainly check the common name first, some tournament such as BMW International Open was known for its sponsor name, but not in case in Italian Open (tennis), which the "controversial" of the move was may be more favoured to Rome Masters or Italian Open as common name. Matthew_hk tc 09:17, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
- Well the BMW International Open is a golf event so you'd have to check with the golf project for their stuff. The Italian Open is far more common in English history than the Rome Masters. Actually, per English usage, it would have probably been better to call the seasonal events the BNL Italian Open rather than Internazionali BNL d'Italia, which is pretty much never used in English. But I just follow long-standing common practice. Fyunck(click) (talk) 09:37, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

not sure is my bias on my google search result (which was personalized out of my control), the earlier edition (2000s) of the tennis tournament was refer as Rome Masters and sometimes stalemate between Italian Open and Rome Masters in 2010s.
The editions that were refer as both Italian Open and Rome Masters depends on which media, i stick to use Italian Open (tennis), as per Wikipedia:Article titles and Wikipedia:COMMONAME and the main article which was located in Italian Open (tennis).
And lastly the practice in tennis that using rare unfamiliar sponsor name should be corrected. Matthew_hk tc 09:48, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
- But then for 40 years it was called the Italian Tennis Championship. And sort of a balance on yearly events. What you call "rare unfamiliar sponsor name" others chime in and say "official sourced tournament name." There is also a bit of a problem with the word "Masters." Those Masters 1000 events began in 1990, but only for the men! That's an ATP term and they give 1000 points to the winner. The ladies WTA tour has no Masters events. The WTA Italian Open is Premier 5 event and gives 900 points to the winner. So while the event has always been the Italian Championships and since the late 70s the Italian Open, it's official name has changed through the years. Even it's common name has varied a little bit with your mentioning the Rome Masters (for the men) in the late 90s and 2000s. This stewiness of names is very common at tennis events, where even their locations change. Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:16, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
- The secondary source refer the female event as Rome Masters, despite it seem incorrect. Matthew_hk tc 05:11, 21 April 2018 (UTC)

I did try to check with an editor and i created the temporal range thing so i can edit it i just had mistaken because i found a source that said it was earlier. The editor did not leave a response i would have changed it after he/she gave me a reply. Matthew hk how about we arrange a plan instead about how i check with you instead because i do not like the sandbox that much. Comments on undoing of my edit on Rainbow six seige.
I am going to say a couple of things. First, some of that information i changed was initially wrong, for example: Silent Step doesnt give caveira the ability to interrogate and the article on white noise implies vigil is always invisible to cameras when its an activated ability with limited duration. I would like it if you rechecked my edit on that. Second, i would like some advice. How detailed is too detailed? I both want to be thorough but as you stated not too detailed. Hario Dinio (talk) 21:45, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
@Hario Dinio: Please read the edit summary "overdetailed and probably not stated in the original citation." Please find a right PC Gamer (or other game magazine) to quote or paraphrase a very short description about the player character Caveira. I personally played the game, but please use material that can be verified by reliable secondary source. It just serious edit problem if you just change the word which was cited, making the citation no long relevant to the wikipedia text. Matthew_hk tc 07:11, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
Sponsor Lazio
Sponsor Lazio 2008-2009
For the season 2008-2009 Lazio don't have any sponsors, but only occasional sponsors. For this motive the Groupama sponsor must be deleted from the main page of SS Lazio. Piolinista65 22:03, 07 May 2018 (UTC)

NPR Newsletter No.11 25 May 2018
ACTRIAL:
- WP:ACREQ has been implemented. The flow at the feed has dropped back to the levels during the trial. However, the backlog is on the rise again so please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day; a backlog approaching 5,000 is still far too high. An effort is also needed to ensure that older unsuitable older pages at the back of the queue do not get automatically indexed for Google.
Deletion tags
- Do bear in mind that articles in the feed showing the trash can icon may have been tagged by inexperienced or non NPR rights holders. They require your further verification.
Backlog drive:
- A backlog drive will take place from 10 through 20 June. Check out our talk page at WT:NPR for more details. NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.
Editathons
- There will be a large increase in the number of editathons in June. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.
Paid editing - new policy
- Now that ACTRIAL is ACREQ, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary. There is a new global WMF policy that requires paid editors to connect to their adverts.
Subject-specific notability guidelines
- The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
- Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies.
Not English
- A common issue: Pages not in English or poor, unattributed machine translations should not reside in main space even if they are stubs. Please ensure you are familiar with WP:NPPNE. Check in Google for the language and content, tag as required, then move to draft if they do have potential.
News
- Development is underway by the WMF on upgrades to the New Pages Feed, in particular ORES features that will help to identify COPYVIOs, and more granular options for selecting articles to review.
- The next issue of The Signpost has been published. The newspaper is one of the best ways to stay up to date with news and new developments. between our newsletters.

Hi. Do you think a separate article for Campionato Primavera 1 is really necessary? They changed their name, but it seems unnecessary to create a whole new page. The Italian wiki only has one page was well. It seems like the same situation when Serie C1 was changed to Lega Pro Prima Divisione, only the name was changed. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 23:09, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
- Then how to deal with Campionato Primavera 2? There were Serie C, Serie C1, Serie C2 articles? More precisely, the whole format changed as the new league consist half of the team and only one group instead of 3, despite having the same organizer. Matthew_hk tc 05:40, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- Oh so it's like the Serie C splitting into Serie C1 and Serie C2, in that Campionato Nazionale Primavera split into Campionato Primavera 1 and Campionato Primavera 2? So there was never any relegation before in the youth tournament? If that's the case then the separation seems find to me. Regards, Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 14:11, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- Do you think the Primavera 1 titles and Nazionale Primavera will be equivalent like they made the Serie C1 titles and Serie C titles equivalent? Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 15:10, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- I am not sure about it. Matthew_hk tc 15:18, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Vaselineeeeeeee:, Lega Serie A listed Inter won 9 times. http://www.legaseriea.it/it/primavera-tim/albo-d-oro Matthew_hk tc 21:38, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
- So should Nazionale Primavera be updated then too? They are considering this title equal to the previous titles. If they ever bring the Nazionale Primavera back like they did with Serie C, then they should definitely be included. I'm still not so sure if we need separate articles right now, it might be too early to tell. But they're considering the titles equal, like a continuation, so yeah, I'm thinking we might not need a new article right now. Vaselineeeeeeee★★★ 21:51, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
