Thanks
Thanks, for the support on the canvassing comment. I'm afraid I may have misplaced some of my anger for other users on you. Yes I have some to learn, but it seems since day one that most users comments have tended to beating with a stick. After awhile you just ignore them no matter how right they might be. I'm sorry. I would ask is there some place that lists all the exceptions to GNG that allow articles? It seems a lot of times my error is that I'm not understanding an exception exists and/or a consensus has developed to allow something even though it wouldn't meet the GNG. Right now it seems like I have to refer to multiple different essays/guidelines to determine if something can be given an article. There seems to be no central list where one can go to find each exception. I have no desire to waste peoples time on something that will never happen. Thanks, Caffeyw (talk) 16:46, 16 September 2013 (UTC)
- Stay here for few days, you'll find your own rationales invalid. You nominated an article because it was not going to release within one month. But, we write articles which are not going to release in next 1+ year. Bombay Velvet will release December 2014, Happy New Year (2014 film), October 2014 release. See these articles 2014 in film, you'll get a bunch of 2014 releases. About national institute we consider even the primary/secondary kids' schools as notable, see WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES. And about future events, we cover that too. You were given an example at AFD. Do you think, it is TOOSOON 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup? --Tito☸Dutta 17:40, 16 September 2013 (UTC)
- I agree SCHOOLOUTCOMES provides a general get out a jail free card for GNG for schools. However with the NFIT in Ludhiana I think it's a bit premature when while covered in numerous sources, the only thing that's been covered is the statement that the Minister of Textiles feels one should be setup. As for the FIFA 2019, while there's not a lot of information, it's a known that it's going to happen. It happens regularly, and there's information about it (bidders) out there, thus it passes. As for the films, it seems hit or miss. One film in for release in Dec 2013 is TOOSOON by vote, then another only once month sooner seems to pass. I've stopped marking films that are going to be out within 6 months unless it's a blatant violation of some other policy (promotional, copyvio, etc)
No matter what though I'm willing to work with those that understand I'm trying to work to improve. It wastes just as much my time as everyone else when I post something that has no chance of being deleted. I'm more then willing to learn from past mistakes, however most users seem to use a stick and forget to acknowledge any good. It's the reason I'm sorry about mislabeling you. Once you made the comment on the canvassing, it showed you weren't just concerned with pointing out flaws. That one comment of support has made me step back and take what you've said in a new light. Personal quick task list
I have collected DVDs of the following Bengali film DVDs. I hope to expand at least few of these articles after watching the movies.
Film | Current article prose size | Importance of the article | Comment | Aim |
---|---|---|---|---|
Meghe Dhaka Tara (2013 film) | 9639 B (1613 words) | Very very very important article. First notable biopic on the great Ritwik Ghatak | It was already featured on DYK. GA will be excellent. Tito☸Dutta 05:37, 18 September 2013 (UTC) | |
C/O Sir | 2986 B (516 words) | Should be a good film | Already featured in DYK, current aim is just expansion. Tito☸Dutta 05:37, 18 September 2013 (UTC) | |
Shabdo | 3099 B (544 words) "readable prose size" | Anandabazar Patrika gave 9.5/10, their highest rating ever | Let's see. DYK, if possible. It'll be difficult. Tito☸Dutta 05:37, 18 September 2013 (UTC) | |
Elar Char Adhyay | 448 B (78 words) | I am expecting to see a slow, boring romantic film. | DYK Tito☸Dutta 05:37, 18 September 2013 (UTC) | |
Bicycle Kick (film) | 4256 B (745 words) | No comment | No aim, the article already has a long plot section Tito☸Dutta 05:37, 18 September 2013 (UTC) | |
Kagojer Nouko | 0 B | No comment | Create, and if I like the film, then DYK. Tito☸Dutta 05:37, 18 September 2013 (UTC) |

I am honored to present you with this Teamwork barnstar for your terrific work assisting in improving the article Adhisaya Ulagam 3D after it was speedy kept at its 2nd AFD. Collaborative editing is a hallmark of Wikipedia, and is one of the surest ways to keep editors and to make Wikipedia a better place... and you have done both. the original Young Malang film article
was speedy deleted... perhaps without due consideration that otherwise tag-able concerns, including a sense of WP:PEACOCK, were addressable underWP:IMPROVE, WP:ATD andWP:WIP. It was most likely written by a newcomer who lacked understanding of how PEACOCK terms give an unsourced article a very bad reputation. It was then recreated in a much shorter version asYOUNG MALANG by another apparent newcomer and sent immediately to AFD. As the film's production has received significant coverage and the film is due to release on the 20th, I undeleted the original version and moved in into my userspace. I seek assistance in bringing the original into line for a return to mainspace. Up for helping improve it? ' Michael Q. 02:48, 19 September 2013 (UTC)

I have made changes in Macleod artcile. But the references mention this ..."until her death at the Movement's Hollywood Center in 1949 at the age of ninety". I don't understand what more is to be done? Is it part of Los Angeles or Los Angeles County, I am not sure--Nvvchar. 11:23, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

- I have addressed the China issue. You make like to make note on the DYK page.--Nvvchar. 05:44, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

As regards Macleod article you may like to delete the last sentence as deemed fit unless you can find some link to the Hollywood center as the headquarters of the movement.--Nvvchar. 00:07, 19 September 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chhota Bheem In Junglee Kabila
Thanks for your help here. I have closed the AfD as withdrawn, but two things may need to be done anyway: moving the page to a more correct title (the Kabeela one seems better), and perhaps merging these into a Chhota Bheem movies article. I don't know enough about these to be comfortable in doing this myself though... Fram (talk) 07:33, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
- {Reply to|Fram}}, yes, that might be done. But, if the article is merged then move will not be needed. and if we start "merge request", it'll take a long time to finish the discussion. I generally take articles to AFD for a quicker "merge" consensus (after recent few discussions at village pump proposals, that is an accepted alternative). Most probably, you noted, I did not give a "keep" vote at the DYK discussion. --Tito☸Dutta 08:52, 21 September 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, but I started it as hoax / unverifiable. I don't like to then keep the same AfD open for merge anyway, it gives the impression of desperately seeking a reason to get rid of the article... Fram (talk) 06:41, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello Titodutta. I think if you add the note about WP:INDAFD in AfDs related to India in a new line, it will make it more readable. And to make it more prominent how about moving it at the top after "Find sources"? Besides May you get well soon. --SMS Talk 12:41, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

- Any month of the year could be celebration of 150th anniversary till 2014 and fixing specific months may not be required.--Nvvchar. 04:26, 26 September 2013 (UTC)

Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
We are currently running a study on the effects of adding additional information to SuggestBot's suggestions. Participation in the study is voluntary. Should you wish to not participate in the study, or have questions or concerns, you can find contact information on the SuggestBot study page.
IMPORTANT CHANGES: We have modified the selection of articles SuggestBot suggests and altered the design to incorporate more information about the articles, as described in this explanation.
Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information.
Changes to SuggestBot's suggestions
We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. The number of stubs has been greatly reduced, the number of articles needing sources doubled, and two new categories added (orphans and unencyclopaedic articles). We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:
- Views/Day
- Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
- Quality
- Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.
The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:
- Content
- Is more content needed?
- Headings
- Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
- Images
- Is the number of illustrative images about right?
- Links
- Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
- Sources
- For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?

DYK for Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached
On 27 September 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached, originally a sloka of Katha Upanishad, was Swami Vivekananda's (pictured) message to the Hindus to get out of their hypnotized state of mind? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
html problems in wp sv
The div for the menus that is being inserted overlays on the entire page and the text beneath are unselectable / clickable. Change height to auto rather than 100%. --TheMandarin (talk) 09:07, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- @TheMandarin:, thank you. I broke it yesterday and was trying to fix it, asked at a Helpdesk. Now, it seems I have fixed it. Thanks. Tito☸Dutta 09:17, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- Feel free to let me know if you face any html problems like these. I couldn't figure out which template to edit, or I would have fixed it myself :) --TheMandarin (talk) 09:41, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
Incomplete DYK nomination
Hello! Your submission of Template:Did you know nominations/Bahujana sukhaya bahujana hitaya cha at the Did You Know nominations page is not complete; see step 3 of the nomination procedure. If you do not want to continue with the nomination, tag the nomination page with {{db-g7}}, or ask a DYK admin. Thank you. DYKHousekeepingBot (talk) 10:43, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
- Will do. Tito☸Dutta 10:46, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
Project page is well done. It was beyond my knowledge of creating page. You can see my user page which I have not been able to rectify. I will be starting one on Vivekananda in Mysore soon. It is my city. I am trying to get some pictures.--Nvvchar. 12:56, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for rectifying my user page. On the 1955 film there are hardly any references. I have added some text but I am not happy with the references. The track of two songs is not referenced. There appears to be three songs. There is no refrence to check this aspect.--Nvvchar. 14:08, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
The hook for Template:Did you know nominations/Bahujana sukhaya bahujana hitaya cha is too long at 236 ch. Aurobindo could be dropped as it is not referenced.--Nvvchar. 14:14, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

DYK
I see you are active in recent days as a DYK reviewer. My nomination seems to be overlooked. Would you please review it here: [1] Thank you. Liangshan Yi (talk) 05:50, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
- Okay' I'll do. Tito☸Dutta 10:04, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
- I hope you do not overlook this, since your talk page is very busy. I have added citations as you suggested in your review. Please review again. This is only my second DYK and I have much to learn before I can do QPQ. Thank you. Liangshan Yi (talk) 05:22, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, please update in the DYK template like this Template:Did you know nominations/Boss (2013 Hindi film), I am not following the article. Tito☸Dutta 11:51, 2 October 2013 (UTC)
I'am very familiar with wikipedia rules and regulations. If you read news then the edits are correct. Please don't revert the changes i have sufficient proof and the image is also from a free public domain. - Mitra, don't take it otherwise but I raised an eyebrow when you forgot to sign though you are very familiar with wikipedia rules and regulations along with using HTML linking instead of [[ ]]. Will you please take the time out to explain why? Instead of going for Don't (issuing an order) should'n't you have discussed the matter? Sohambanerjee1998 09:41, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
Soham, I use don't not to Order, I've used it because by contentious reverting an article may result in a dispute. So mentioned it not to do it without discussions. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mitrabarun (talk • contribs) 09:56, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
- Sign your comments using four tildes. Go to the talk page of the article Talk:Jeet_Gannguli#Requested_move, the article was renamed after a discussion. You need to start another WP:RM to rename it. Your images were copyright violations and have been deleted. And don't shout in my talk page. Tito☸Dutta 10:04, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, again you forgot to sign this time along with Tito. Barun, calmly discuss it man instead of going for restrictions on another user's action. Plus Please turn your Caps Lock off. In internet etiquette its regarded as shouting. Sohambanerjee1998 11:18, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
- They have added one more copvio and is continuing edit warring, I have reported. Tito☸Dutta 11:20, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
