Why
Why did you strike down all of the images on Paulson stadium. They were correctly sourced. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Na00758 (talk • contribs) 02:55, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
- Replied at your talk page. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:04, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
Theo Natsis page
why did you delete my page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Theonastis (talk • contribs) 07:02, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
- Because the subject (you) does not satisfy WP:42. If you can find good sources, please let me know and I will help you create the article. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:07, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
- well what constitutes a good source? also what makes you think i am Theo Natsis? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Theonastis (talk • contribs) 01:09, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
- See WP:RS to learn more about good sources, and I think you are likely Theo Natsis because your username is Theonastis. :) Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:58, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
Thats quite the accusation, there is no proof nor source of evidence. so under WP:RS article 4 act 3 nothing can be concluded. anyway i want to create i wiki page for a band what evidence do i need to do this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Theonastis (talk • contribs) 01:22, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
- Not really an accusation, but more of a reasonable assumption.
- If you wish to create an article about "Griffindor and the Stank Beetles" or some other band, then re-read WP:42. That pretty much says it all. Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 04:01, 5 February 2014 (UTC)

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar | ||
I've been one of your talk page stalkers for several months and I've seen you be kind, almost to a fault. Your patience and welcoming nature has certainly earned more fans of Wikipedia, rather than chasing potential editors away. Chris Troutman (talk) 08:00, 3 February 2014 (UTC) |
- Chris, thank you. Your timing is perfect. I've felt like a bit of a baddie lately. Thank you so much. :) Your friend, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:08, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
Why
I wrote about myself as it said and you delete it, That took me hours to write. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ryan Beard123 (talk • contribs) 13:36, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
- For the reasons I stated here at your user talk page: User talk:Ryan Beard123#Your user page. The thing is, it was 3,049 characters long and really looked like you were using Wikipedia to host a webpage about yourself. (If you want a copy of it, I can provide it to you.)
- Again, please don't be offended, and please feel welcome here. I really encourage you to help build the encyclopedia. It's fun. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:43, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
Anna, I noticed you reverted some fancruft by a user in the Castle article last night, after a bot had previously done so. She's back again, and has added the same nonsense back, which I have again reverted. Do you think a short semi-protect or something similar might help? She seems a) young and b) determined. I'm going to drop a note on her talk page. --Drmargi (talk) 18:53, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for reverting. It is only Casckettlover1, so no need to protect the article. The best plan is exactly what you did. I'll keep an eye on the article, the and the editor's talk page and contribs. Best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:38, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
- Sounds good. The show has a rather ardent group of fans from Australia that run a website, and I often wonder how much of this stems from them. It gets out of hand every so often. I left her a little reminder not to spam this AM. --Drmargi (talk) 01:42, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Many thanks. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:50, 4 February 2014 (UTC)
I'm thinking spambot
To answer your question to JonoDunn and CalebDonegan, I'm thinking they are not quite spambots, but certainly not here to "make Wikipedia a better place". These along with Mikebaier, Fransjgerber, and Ian Treibick seem a little fishy. (I didn't link them on purpose.) The writing is too similar, though at least they all admit they are SEO people. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:46, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
- I agree. Hmmmmm. Franz and Mike are definitely connected. That's obvious. Can we NOINDEX the pages? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:03, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
- Another: KarolinaRetryl. Maybe some action is required to look into this. Thoughts? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:32, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
- Another: Jamielaststand1986 also with the "present on" bit. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:51, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
- Another: Richard AllenNZ Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:40, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
- Another: KrystianSzastok almost the same as Jamielaststand1986 Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:23, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
- I think it is time for an SPI since some of them are now editing each other's user pages, so they are obviously connected somehow. I'll make one up. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:02, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
- Good plan! Please url me when it's done. Many thanks, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 05:05, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
- You probably got the notification by now, but I finished up the report. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:26, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
- Splendid. I'm curious to see the outcome. Many thanks for that. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 05:37, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
Re your message: I thought maybe that it was a new wizard making these, but upon further thought and a bit more searching, I'm not buying the automated template. It is just too much of a coincidence that all of these SEO accounts are using similar wording. It is not just the "present on" line, but the disclaimer, the stilted introduction, etc. Not buying it. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:44, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 5
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Duster (clothing), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Younger Brothers (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Multiple Acount
OMG even I'm surprised by this!! the only authentic account aoung these is user:wiki.Gunjan rest are all fake there are 2 more that can be added in the list - User talk:Avni sorathiya and Janki_Ahir. I got one of them blocked yesterday.
The motto that I found for the creation of these "multiple" accounts is that they are promoting/advertising/endorsing their website [1] by inserting its links on various Indian surface transport related articles.
Ma'm trust me I'm not doing all this, I've been editing Wikipedia since Oct 2012, and you can see my Contribs, I never had any intention to spam Wikipedia, and bring down its credibility.

- Thank you very much ma'm for understanding :-) & sorry for those spelling mistakes and grammatical errors, I got a bit tensed during all this thinking that even my account may get blocked. --Wiki.Gunjan (talk) 06:37, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

CBSE spammer
After User:CBSE RESULTs was created, I blocked those four accounts. I think it was an attempt to sneak in an SEO term. I just didn't buy it when the last account wrote "Being raised up in the remote hinterlands of rural CBSE Results Gujarat". Yeah, sure... I've seen these kind of test result lookup website spamming before. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:08, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

My page
I noticed you deleted my page, I am new to Wiki. Can you help me not show this as promotional? — Preceding unsigned comment added by FrankMazza3 (talk • contribs) 16:54, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hello, and welcome. Sure. A few simple sentences about who you are would be okay for your userpage but please understand that your userpage is not there for self-promotion. So, best not sell yourself, and even linking to your website seems quite promotional. It is intended for basic information about yourself or your Wikimedia-related activities. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 17:01, 6 February 2014 (UTC)
Thank You for the clarification, I will give it another shot - Thanks again! — Preceding unsigned comment added by FrankMazza3 (talk • contribs) 17:13, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

The article I have created An Astrologer's Day does not have any quality scale parameters can you please add parameters which is appropriate to the quality of the article. Possible admin candidate?
Hi, Anna. I just ran into SPACKlick (talk · contribs) for the first time. He/she has been editing since 2007 and has no blocks in their log. Their user page expresses interest in becoming an admin. I was wondering if you or others watching this page might be able to take him/her under their wing for training. From what I can tell, the editor might make a good admin candidate. I don't know anything about their editing history, but I just saw them involved in making a very good decision on a Star Trek article where an IP was adding bad content, so they definitely have good judgement. Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 01:24, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
- I know it's probably bad form to join this discussion but I'd have to say I'm a fair ways off becoming an admin. My major issue is that I have a stubborn streak which from time to time leads me to disruptive editing. For instance, if you look at the recent debacle over at Orthodox Presbyterian Church, I'm sure my tone on the talk page and method of reverting didn't help that situation. Thanks for the thought though. SPACKlick (talk) 07:22, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
- If you ran for adminship now, I think voters would raise concerns about lack of contribs prior to 2014, and would want to see more varied work, like in AfDs for example, and also a great deal more content creation. Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:09, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Anna, could you do me a favor? There's an AfD discussion that is probably ready for close. It's been 18 days and the primary author is eager to have this done and move on. I don't have a dog in the fight either way and I haven't voted. If you'd prefer not to, I understand. Many thanks. Chris Troutman (talk) 03:21, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

I was identified as something called a sock puppet?
Hi there, apparently I was flagged as a sock puppet. Please can you investigate and look me up anywhere including tens of mentions of me attending conferences and being a real person? I'm not sure why someone tried to edit my account page, and I did notice my coworkers indeed using the same IP. That's Elizabeth Grey and Josh. As to my account page I did copy some of the template from another user and I'm happy to update, I thought I was following a standard. Happy to arrange a call or Skype or to write a letter to prove I am indeed a real person... Thank you for your consideration, Krystian — Preceding unsigned comment added by KrystianSzastok (talk • contribs) 03:47, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
- Welcome. Please do not worry about the sock puppet investigation. I trust that you are a real person. Actually, the purpose of the investigation was help determine if the accounts are related to one another. We now believe that they are likely separate people. I must assume good faith when you say that you copied your userpage from another. That is okay.
- Please don't be offended, and please feel welcome here. I encourage you to help build the encyclopedia. If there is anything you ever need, just ask. Best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 06:42, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

I am sorry
I am extremly sorry for all the wrong contributions, I have made here in Wikipedia. You have supported me from the first day, even you are the first Individual whom I have meet here.
I cannot become a good editor so I decided to leave Wikipedia forever. It is better for me to be just a reader than a editor. I have a last request for you, can you please go to WP:MISSYOU and list me in the retired users section followed by tagging {{retired}} template on my talk page, maybe you will not decline my last request. I am going to miss this place and personally I am going to miss you and all my fellow users mostly Stfg, Admrboltz, Titodutta, VQuakr and those whom I have forgot to mention. I will never forget my little experience here in Wikipedia.
I wish I could meet all the fellow users face to face. But alas, It is not going to happen. I have made some Incomplete works if anybody wish to adopt it, I don't have any problem at all. @Tito you may not know me but I know you, as a brother. Okay bye everybody. And at last many thanks to all of you for your live hearted support. Rudra (talk) 22:06, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- You do not pass WP:MISSYOU criteria. No one is an expert from day one or month one. My edits were worse than yours in my first days. You started patrolling pages, or planning GAs. Even after 6 months of editing, I did not know about those, all I used to do was content edits. You may stay and learn or you may leave, your wish. Tito☸Dutta 22:13, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- Rudra: All things considered, there are still areas to safely work in. The most basic, and one of the most valued, is sourcing content. That entails finding good media sources to support facts in articles. Does that interest you? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:44, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you for your suggestions @Anna but I don't think that I can source any content properly. I am not a villian and not want to be a villian here. So I think that Wikipedia does not needs me.
- I have created a draft Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/The_Early_Nationalists_of_India_(Moderates) It has been completed by some one else. Please review it and tell me if anything more is needed. Please submit it if you think it is complete. This article is my last article. Your views about this article are needed. Thanks. Rudra (talk) 09:43, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- I am not qualified to review that. I just don't know the subject and am very suspicious of copyright violations. Here is one possible occurrence:
- Jim Cartar's addition: "...Some of the younger elements within the Indian National Congress were dissatisfied with the achievements of the Moderates. They strongly criticised the methods of peaceful constitutional agitation...."
- Source: "...The younger elements within the Congress were dissatisfied with the achievements of the Moderates during the first 15-20 years. They were strongly critical of the methods of peaceful and constitutional agitation, ..."
Tunnel to Hainan
Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I just heard about it and shed a tear for you. :( Viriditas (talk) 23:01, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- They've been talking about that for years. I don't see any new news about it. Is there any? And my opinion, hmmmm, I think it would lead to development and therefore the destruction of the natural environment. It is lose lose. The local people here use every stream, forest, and roadside as a garbage dump because "the government hasn't developed it yet". Villagers here see the natural environment as worthless, dirty, and ugly. They see it as many see an empty lot in a city -- a place where throwing rubbish doesn't matter because it matches the old bits of cement and weeds already there. It's quite sad. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:44, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- New article out today about the proposed tunnel. Let me know if you can read it or not. It seems like a strange project. For that kind of money, the government could launch solar power satellites and provide clean energy for its people. Viriditas (talk) 02:07, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- I saw that. But, that's about another tunnel with a small mention of the Hainan thing. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:10, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- About the garbage thingy, I think that has to be taught to children. I remember I learned about littering and putting trash in its place when I was 4. And my parents were way ahead of the curve as we were recycling before everyone else was. In Hawaii, you see this this kind of thing with people from other countries who don't have that kind of respect for the land. I knew this guy from Turkey who was fairly new to the states, and whenever he had a piece of litter in his hands, from a candy bar or something he was done with, he would just drop it to the ground and be done with it. This kind of waste disposal was anathema to the way I was raised so I confronted him politely. Well, it was like speaking a foreign language. To him, the world outside of his body was a giant garbage dump that he had no connection to or responsibility for beyond his own immediate use. I think we are evolving as a species, but not fast enough. Most corporations still treat the planet in this way and governments enable them. Viriditas (talk) 02:25, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- I totally know what you mean. I have the same experiences here. They just don't see the problem. When they throw their garbage into the river, they think out of sight, out of mind. And what you said about "the world outside", totally true. Outside the walls of their property is a free-for-all. They only care about their own space. No sense of community cooperation or connection to the planet. When I see it, it feels like my heart is breaking.
- As for parents and kids, the parents litter so the kids see it and they litter, and so will their kids. It may take generations to change. I wish the powers that be would broadcast messages about caring for the environment. But who are the powers that be? The litterbugs. Maybe the kids we be better then influence policy when they grow up. A good feedback loop. And corporations litter because capitalism doesn't care. That's just an externality that doesn't matter. Then corporations use their gains to influence governments to enable them. A bad feedback loop. There seems to be more bad loops than good ones. More and more, I see the world influenced by systems that we create that get out of our control and can't be stopped. And then feedback loops send them in dangerous directions. They morph. They are like creatures. We should be xenophobic toward them. Systems and feedback loops don't mix. Together they make monsters. Sorry, I'm rambling. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:59, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- You're not rambling, you're making a point. In some way, you are describing what happens when thoughtforms, physical manifestations of ideas, take on a life of their own. In comparative literature, these are called golems or tulpas. The ecological or computer science analogy works just as well. It's strange that you brought this up because I was thinking of something along these lines earlier. I was thinking where do ideas come from? And when you go down that road (as many philosophers have) you come to some strange forks and turns. On that tangent, I will say this: one idea that has led us to a dead end is the notion of the noble lie. I think we can blame this idea for helping to feed the so-called monster, and give it strength and sustenance. After all, if our societies are all based on lies, how can we expect to look at the problem honestly, rationally, and with the goal of solving it? We must be honest with ourselves, but to do this, we must have the necessary critical thinking tools and the freedom to ask questions. Only then will the monster be starved, and only then will we realize that we created it. Viriditas (talk) 04:26, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- That's totally scary. Feeding the monster indeed. The picture that is presented to the public of how this world really works is utter lies and lies by omission. People can't change things if the first step of knowing is missing. What really scares me is that the system is now using education and the media to breed a gentler, dumber animal. In a few generations, they may be as stupid and docile as sheep -- too dumb to know of their predicament. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:05, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- Stupid and docile you say? Brawndo's got what plants crave. It's got electrolytes. Viriditas (talk) 11:18, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

I kinda sorta just thought redlinks gave the appearance of an unpolished article. I'll try to only make constructive edits from here on out. Like removing vandalism. That's something that bugs me more. My talk page
Hello! You left me two messages on my talk page, one regarding copyright violations, and one about my account creations. Regarding the sources, I did indeed write it and it was not a direct copy/paste. And about the accounts, I just reserved the names, I am not going to be editing on them or any other way that violates policy about multiple accounts. Original European (ᴛᴀʟᴋ) 21:10, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hello there. :) (permanent link for my reference)
- About the usernames: Fourteen is a lot. Please don't make any more, okay? :)
- The reply at this page and deletion of the post at your page: What I wrote at the very top of this page in red says it all. Also, it is good form, conventional, and helpful to others to archive threads instead of deleting them. I can help you set that up if you wish.
- The copyvios: Wikipedia has to take this very seriously or legal trouble could result. Please, please be very careful about this. Due diligence on my part is important, so I must say that the following are either straight copy pasting or way-too-close paraphrasing. (Both are not permitted.)
- Your addition: "...A team of French experts composed of spelaeologists Marcel Meyssonnier and Valerie Plichon; Michel Philippe, a paleontologist specializing in cave bears; historian Francoise Prudhomme, and cave art specialists Jean Clottes and Bernard Gely have attested to the authenticity of the paintings..."

- Your addition: "...There are plans to begin a research program at Coliboaia, which will be co-led by Clottes and the president of the Romanian Federation of Spelaeology, Viorel Traian Lascu. Clottes says the 9˚C temperature and the high waters will make this challenging..."

- When I first started, I would copy paste to a notepad then modify the paragraph to make sure it was very far from the original. That was a bad idea. I then learned to copy paste the paragraph then rewrite it from scratch by creating a paragraph below. That system ensures no leftover verbatim strings.
- I'm sorry to be a stickler about all these things, especially because you are new here, and you are already proving to be very good at editing.
- Again, I'm sorry to be such a pest. If there's anything you ever need, just ask. Very best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:23, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
Thank you very much for the advice and for your kindness! I will follow your example of rewriting from scratch to avoid similarity in wording. I am new to Wikipedia and I still have a lot to learn, so I truly appreciate your kindness with me. Also, I have no idea how to archive messages, so I would appreciate your help with that on my talk page! Oh and one more thing: I literally just need to reserve one more username (Native European). I understand 14 is a lot and 15 is even more, but that would be all I ask to include that one more account and that's it, no more accounts. Again, thank you very much for helping me out and for being very kind! Original European (ᴛᴀʟᴋ) 01:34, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- It's a pleasure to meet you and I'm very happy to help you anyway I can.
- Sure, 15 is fine. :) Just please don't start editing with them all. Also, consider declaring that you have them at your userpage.
- Archiving, yes, there are two ways: with a bot and manually. I do it manually. I like the control. That entails copy pasting the threads to archive subpages. Others (most) prefer allowing a bot to handle it. There are pros and cons to both. Please take a look at the following and then let me know what you want to do and I can help either way:
It's a pleasure to meet you too! Thank you :D I'm not going to edit with them, I just wanted the names reserved. I will make a list on my userpage of my other accounts right now, and I've read both but I think I'd prefer manually archiving. Best regards, Original European (ᴛᴀʟᴋ) 06:50, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- Splendid. Would you like me to get you started with the archiving? I can make the box and such for you just like at my user talk page above and you can paste and such as and when you like. And you can also change the colours, of course.
- Oh, and your talk page link in your signature is a bunch of strange boxes and lines. Just letting you know.
- Yes please. Ah, so it didn't show up. It was supposed to be "talk" in small caps. I've changed it back to normal. Thank you for letting me know. Oh, and I created User talk:Paleolithic Man/Archive 1 which I believe I was supposed to do. Original European (talk) 10:10, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- I'll boldly go ahead and set it up with archive001 format. I regret my archive1 thing because it sorts badly at list of subpages. Standby. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:14, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you so much for your help! You have been very kind and I can't thank you enough. Best regards, Original European (talk) 10:40, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- Happy to help. Feel free to modify it any way you like. And your userpage username declaration doesn't need to be so huge, plus it is optional. You may prefer a simpler format, like: "I registered but do not use the following accounts: User:Example0001, User:Example0002, User:Example0003." Anna Frodesiak (talk) 10:48, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

List of hospitals in India
Those link were removed since those links doesnt connect to any pages as there isnt any pages available on those links also there isnt much necessity to create pages on all those hospitals in future as well. When link doesnt exist and just to have red links full it doesnt look good on the page. Just trying my part to make the page better. If any suggestion and advice if am wrong its appreciated. Thanks !!Sayowais (talk)16:12, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Sayowais. I wrote this opinion at Talk:List of hospitals in India/Archive 1#Proposal for state-wise lists some time ago:
People cite WP:NOTDIRECTORY but haven't read it. It says that List of hospitals in India if fundementally an okay type of list. It must contain a list of hospitals in India and generally no other items and no phone numbers, etc. So, what list items are acceptable? I've been discussing this issue for years. To me, this makes the most sense: Bluelinks obviously fine. Redlinks and blacklinks are the same because people just add the brackets willy nilly. The case for only bluelinks is countered with "Hey, blacklinks in List of hospitals in the United States will get articles fast if worthy so only bluelinks should be there. But, not so with Japan or Pakistan list articles. The items on those lists take longer to get articles. Booting them off the list means they're less likely to become articles. Their presence, whether black or red, encourages others to start the article." So, do we need to vet? Sure, googling each item isn't very practical. If List of Hospitals in Notondamap has black or redlinked Notondamap Central Hospital, we leave it. If it has Sammy's Upstairs Clinic, it's probably safe to remove. We use discretion. With schools and hospitals, etc, we err on the side of inclusion. With companies, etc, we err on the side of exclusion. |
- So, what do you think? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:15, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
hmm i read that in talk page, to be frank it doesn't do any difference having black or red links and i tried to remove those red links on aesthetic wise nothing much beyond that and moreover me alone cant make list of hospitals in each state perfect and verify it but i can do for my state as i am aware of things and could work on it. I am with you on this links issue, as me individually cant ensure clarity on each links as its a very tedious process, it would require a team.
But about which hospitals to be listed in it i hope we need to work on it. If you see the list atleast based on details of list in the tamil nadu state(most of it i altered or removed, still need to be done) its filled with small clinics, nursing homes and individual clinics which i think is not even well known in the city or town it belongs. So i would like to ensure only major hospitals or hospitals which serve atleast to decent population in the city it belongs to be listed. So referencing could help i hope. What would you say?? Thanks !! Sayowais (talk)Owais 08:40, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
- I'm so sorry to have skipped over this message. I kept reading it and couldn't quite understand what you meant. Okay. I think I agree with everything except removing red links for aesthetic reasons, but then again, the article looks okay now and I don't want to put back the red links. I'm happy you removed the small clinic items. It is hard for people far from India to know which is which. This is where your local knowledge helps. Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:48, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
Possible copyright violation
Thanks for bringing this issue. after i created the page with reference material, final work was left out since i was idle for few days. I hope its been done now. If still i could make it better let me know. Well there wont any issues like this any of other articles i created or altered if it exits i would make it fine soon. Do help me on making my wikipedia work better and perfect. Thank you.Sayowais (talk) 17:33, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- Don't worry too much. It was only once, right?
- It is always best not to paste content to Wikipedia and then try to modify it. Write it on your computer and then add it to Wikipedia. Further to that, yesterday I wrote above: "...When I first started, I would copy paste to a notepad then modify the paragraph to make sure it was very far from the original. That was a bad idea. I then learned to copy paste the paragraph then rewrite it from scratch by creating a paragraph below. That system ensures no leftover verbatim strings..." Thanks Anna.. a real good advice which is already taken into the way i contribute to articles in Wikipedia. Wish i got this little advice earlier, this one error wouldn't have happened but one nice thing about this error is this suggestion i wouldnt have got. So thanks a lot. I hope you will be a great help in future as well.Sayowais (talk)Owais 08:46, 17 February 2014 (UTC)

Just wanted to let you know that I've an Article about this person submitted and ready for review. Here's the link. Should be notable since he won the Hermann Trophy in back-to-back years. – Michael (talk) 01:51, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hello there. It is best for someone else to handle this one. I've had very bad outcomes with football drafts, approving players who only sort of played professionally, and ended up deleted, twice I think. I don't understand the game, and would only watch it if they introduced a rule that allowed two balls in play simultaneously. Sorry I can't help. Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:13, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- No problem, I just got word that it had been accepted (that was fast by the way). I think I still remember one of those debates. About James Georgeff? And that argument with that one user who kept trying to make a case that Georgeff was notable with all the crap he posted and started making personal attacks to a few users. That was the most ridiculous debate I've ever seen. I've made mistakes like that before. Even though I follow the game, I used to have trouble understanding the guidelines put forth regarding notability with football/soccer players, but I have it all figured out now. But again, I'll try to ask someone else to review any articles if necessary. – Michael (talk) 03:54, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- Ah, the Georgeff thing. Don't remind me. :) I'm pleased that the wonderful Chris Troutman has approved the article. That was very kind of him.
- Two things out of curiosity:
- How did the date of this thread start out as 2013? I'm mystified. :)
- You are "Registered 5/2/2008; 43256 edits; autoreviewer, autoconfirmed" and you "...used to have trouble understanding the guidelines put forth regarding notability with football/soccer players, but I have it all figured out now...." so why not approve and move football AfCs? You seem well qualified. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 20:20, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

Hello
I did not mean to cause any harm. I did not copy anything, really. In fact, the only thing I copy and pasted was the overview, because I could not explain it in my own words.
If you can recreate the page in a better way than I did, then that would be great.
Ninja of Green (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:56, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Ninja of Green. First, please don't be upset. Actually, more than just the overview came up as copy pasted. The characters were also copy pasted from the company site. I'm happy to see Mixels represented at Wikipedia. I've restored the basics here: Mixels. Please build upon it. Let me know if you need help. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 06:03, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hello. I have edited the page further after you restored it. Please let me know if it looks good. It is now more or less the same information, but in my own words. I did copy and paste information from my Mixels Wiki, which before I had copied and pasted information onto there from official news sources. I feel stupid now that I didn't give any sources or put it in my own words, and I apologize for that. I hope you aren't mad. Thanks! Ninja of Green (talk) 06:21, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- It's great!! I googled a few bits and pieces and nothing matches the company site or anywhere else. You are super-wonderful-marvelous! (Oh, and I think http://mixels.lego.com/ doesn't connect.) Happy editing, my friend. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 06:29, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

Sockpuppet investigation
Hello! I am curious: how long is the process and what happens? I am tired of this specific user harassing me claiming that I am another user. I'm just wondering how long it takes before I am cleared and that user can stop ruining my reputation, which I am trying to build. He is making me feel uncomfortable. Thank you. Original European (talk) 06:03, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hello there. Let me respond in point form:
- I think he is confused by your other accounts and didn't notice the redirects when clicking on the other names.
- I'm not sure why he suspects you. He works on those articles, so I think he spots some similarity, perhaps beyond the username thing.
- Your list of usernames that you do not use at your userpage includes the one that you do use.
- Your username in your signature differs from your present username. I don't know why you want that, but now you are seeing how confusing it can be. Personally, I don't think it should be allowed at Wikipedia because it makes searches difficult.
- I still have no clue why anyone would want to register 15 usernames.
- Please don't out other users.
- In starting the investigation, he hasn't added the sockmaster's name. If nobody comes to fix that soon, I will.
- The only similarities (I haven't looked at your actual contributions) I see is that you both use "rewording" in your edit summaries and other small similarities there, and have a similar username. We'll see what others think. I can't dig into your contribs easily as I am having connection troubles and loading pages is often very hard lately.
- Someone will be along within hours or maybe a few days to deal with the investigation. If the result favours you, no harm will be done to your reputation.
- Thank you. The first username on my other accounts list is actually "Palaeolithic Man", which is the British spelling of "Paleo". I have "Original European" as my signature because I registered that username, and I'm not too fond of my current username, but I already started contributing with this name, so that's why. I didn't mean to out my friend. He actually posted his name on his userpage, so I didn't think it would be an issue but I apologize for typing his name. I actually noticed quite a bit of users write "rewording", I guess because it's a simple way of saying what you did in the edit summary. Thank you for your response. Hopefully someone can review the investigation soon. One more thing: after the investigation, is it possible to have Borsoka edit his comments where he refers to me as "Afro-Eurasian"? I wouldn't want others to assume that I am a "sockpuppet". Thank you for your time. Cheers, Original European (talk) 06:27, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Well, about your usernames, I'm confused. As for removing the user's reference to you as Afro-Eurasian, I don't think so. I will likely just end up deleted (remaining in the history) or the archives. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:07, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Queries
Hello Anna, I just wanted to know that, I have already started from the first again. And this time the only conflict I had is what I did here. Will it affect my future in Wikipedia. If in future (after 3years) I request for adminship will my behave that I did last day in my talk page, affect the decision for adminship. I have done a new start and does not want any connection with my past. I have completed 100 edits yesterday in 3 days. None of my edits were reverted. Everything is perfect. And you told me that one of my edits is copy vio but I think it is not copyvio -To explain the topic I have used some technical terms without that terms it is pratically impossible to explain. I haven't just copy pasted everything. I have changed some words to avoid copy vios but then also you are telling me that it is a copy vio. Can you please review it once more Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/The_Early_Nationalists_of_India_(Moderates) and tell me if there is more problems. Tito is a good reviewer and he is also famaliar with the topic. But he hasn't reviewed instead of that he has included a notice (which is good). So, can you have a look. If you can't then can you tell Tito to review it. Thank you. Jim Cartar (talk) 06:33, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Adminship? Hmmmm, frankly, you would have to become a stellar editor for those three years to earn back trust and have a chance. At the moment, I see issues that border on WP:CIR and I don't know if that is going to change enough.
- The copyvio. You may have fixed it now, I don't know. But, what I saw when I noted it, certainly looked like a copyvio to me. Please read WP:CLOSEPARAPHRASING.
- As I stated here, I will leave it to others to respond to your edits. I will keep an eye on your contribs and let you or others know if there's anything serious that I encounter. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:15, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

Dr Niraj Vora - Please have a look
Hello Anna,
I don't really understand why you have deleted my page. It is just the exact information about me and i m no where trying to promote myself any where. I just made a minor change of DOB as it was typo error in it. Moreover I just updated the information with latest figure of my surgeries. I really wonder whats there to delete the entire page for the evident facts of mine.

- I just deleted it again. Please see User talk:Anna Frodesiak/archive39#Help required regarding page creation and the comment at your talk page for the reasons why. What I am seeing is someone who has made no edits outside his userspace. Someone who has basically pasted his advertisement at his userpage. I see your name at the beginning of each sentence as if to attract attention. Again, your userpage is intended for basic information about yourself or your Wikimedia-related activities and should it be used to promote yourself or host a lengthy biography. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:24, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hello Niraj first of all put ~~~~ to sign your posts on talk pages, I know you are just trying to contribute but actually user page is for basic informations. But your user page looks like a advertisment instead of basic information. You must not give so detailed informations about yourself such that it looks like an advert. You can see userpages of some other editors for example. If you need assistance, you can ask me on my talk page or Anna. Regards.
Sorry Anna for poking my nose. Jim Cartar (talk) 14:20, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
soapy bob / user page
hello Anna Frodesiak,
i have been in contact with "Friday" because the "soapy bob" page was deleted, and i was told that i could retain the information on my user page...which has now been deleted.
i am working on an entry that will be redirected from the "dirty sanchez" page, but don't seem to be able to keep my post active.
perhaps you can help me come to an understanding of how i am going about this in the wrong way, as i am new to the wiki-scene, and i am basically and ignorant person in general.
, thanks in advanced, ,confused as always Jhw8bs (talk) 21:01, 19 February 2014 (UTC)jhw8bs
- I see the thread at: User talk:Friday/Archive/2014#soapy bob
- Reading the draft at your userpage, I was quite sickened. I'm not judging you for wishing to create it, and I know that Wikipedia isn't censored. Assuming good faith, I think that you were working on a draft and started it there. Due to the nature of the content, it is best for you to prepare in on your computer until you have obtained enough sources for it to pass WP:GNG (I can email you a copy of the deleted draft if you want). Then, either present the sources here for us to check (many would be needed), or create the draft with sources through Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Thanks for your understanding and please consider starting one of these articles instead: Wikipedia:Requested articles/Images. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:30, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Need Clarity
Dear Anna,
Is it a compulsory to edit outside my user page. I have seen from past two weeks the page was not deleted and it had the same story line and information. But suddenly you again say its a advertisement or resume type. I am not knowing what pages do i have to edit outside my user page. Could you please let me know or suggest few to edit so that i become eligible to look up here.
How many edits do i have do?
Please kindly let me know.
Thanks in Advance, Dr Niraj Vora (talk) 05:10, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
- First, please understand that I would love you to help build the encyclopedia. That is what I want more than anything. You are a doctor. I'm sure you have lots to offer.
- To respond to what you wrote above: Really, really dedicated, productive, long-term editors may have a bit of a bio and even a link to their site at their user page. That is acceptable because of what they contribute. Editors who arrive, make it plain (per what you wrote above) that they really only want the prestige and advertising benefit of having their bio at Wikipedia, and really want to contribute nothing except a few edits to be "eligible", may not have a long bio at their userpage. Now, I may be totally mistaken. You may ask others what they think. They may even read this and post here in agreement/disagreement.
- I'd like you to read Wikipedia:Here to build an encyclopedia and then tell us: why are you here? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 06:09, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
- Support I agree to what Anna said. Niraj you are a new user, you should keep your userpage Simple. It is nowhere written that editing apart from your own user page is compulsary but we expect that every new user will try to contribute in other articles and become a good member of Wikipedia Community. Thanks Anna and Jim Cartar for giving your views and support. I shall surely provide much information on Total Knee and Hip Replacement Surgeries. To start off only i have actually created a page under my name. Hope i will provide some information to users under my area of specialization.

- You are very welcome to add content to articles provided that it is supported by reliable sources. And when you say "created a page", do you mean an article about you? I've googled you and honestly you do not appear to satisfy WP:GNG. No offense intended. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:11, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
- Niraj If you mean creating an article about you then please wait and see WP:GNG before you procced. Notability is a major factor. If you cannot proof that your article is about a notable person (i.e. You), then it will be deleted again. Jim Cartar (talk) 14:39, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Why was my material deleted?
Everything I wrote was factual and about me. You said to not be offended about the deletion, but I am. There are Millions of bio's online that are very similar in style to what I did here. I made sure to stay completely factual and not add in anything outside from what is about my bio. Which by the way is very important to share with the world. I have included it again below, can you please be so kind as to explain in greater detail what is concerning you with my bio so I can correct these concerns and re-list it on Wikipedia.
Thank you sooo much, God Bless, Tony

Anthony Edward Neuhoff was born on May 18th 1975 in Lorain, Ohio USA. He grew up with four sisters Theresa, Amy, Kelly, Mary and was raised Roman Catholic. Resided in Vermilion, Ohio till he was at the age of 12, when his parents divorced and he moved with his Father to Lorain, Ohio. After two years of living in Lorain with his Father they both moved to Nashville, TN where Sidney William Neuhoff is from and attended Saint Henry's grade school. He lived in Nashville till he reached the age of 17 and moved back with his Mother Sharon Marie Neuhoff Schweinberg. Graduated from Vermilion High School in Vermilion, Ohio in 1994. Anthony moved to Newport Beach, CA in 1994 and began working in the Technology industry. He received many certifications and worked his way up in his carrier as a Technical Support for Micro Age, FirstWorld, and AT&T. Anthony then decided to move back to Ohio and continue his carrier with AT&T. This was a important time of his life because he met Natalie Simko who attended the same school (University of Phoenix) as Anthony and they both connected in a strong way. They married in 2005 and soon after had two lovely children Ella Marie Neuhoff (born 2006) and Brigitte Helena Neuhoff (born 2011). The marriage was going well, until Anthony started receiving many messages directly from GOD and began a new direction in his life. The main communication that was delivered from GOD to Anthony was the fact that he is the Third Noah and is responsible to deliver a peaceful message that everyone can connect directly to GODTheSource, they just need to work at this each and every day. Continue their religion and spiritual path that has introduced them to GOD and work each day as often as they can to connect to GODTheSource. Anthony continues to explain that the message he has for ALL seen and unseen throughout the universe to simply give positive thoughts, actions and words and what they will receive in return is the same. When you are faced with any kind of negative actions, you simply do your best to deliver positive thoughts, actions and words and take this moment that has occurred to you and talk directly to GOD about it. Absorb the negative and channel it directly back to GOD. Anthony has developed www.GODTheSource.org and is doing everything he can to continue his efforts of relaying the very peaceful message. Anthony has said that "there is no message of destruction, only of peace." as of 2013 Anthony and his wife have divorced and Anthony has stayed committed to doing everything he can to help be a great Father to his two children. Anthony can now be found meeting people regularly at the Cleveland Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish, and many Christian organaizations. Anthony also donates his time to the Veterans Hospital along with the Catholic Charities for the homeless and the Cleveland food bank. Anthony has a tattoo on his back that says "IN GOD WE TRUST PERIOD!" and is doing everything he can to send the peaceful message to the Universe... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Third Noah (talk • contribs) 16:35, 20 February 2014 (UTC) |

Food in Arnhem?
Nir Felder just tweeted this pic.[2] I hope you can access it. I think you said you used to live in this country, so I was wondering if you knew anything about the cuisine in this pic. Of course, there's no identifying info other than his tour list, which says he's in Arnhem. There's nothing listed about cuisine in Arnhem on wiki. Viriditas (talk) 04:13, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I don't recognize any of those dishes. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 06:25, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- Maybe it's because the photo isn't so good. Sorry. Viriditas (talk) 08:46, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- Holy cow! I can't believe it, but I found it. It's rijsttafel and it's linked on the main page over at cuisine of the Netherlands. Viriditas (talk) 08:49, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- Maybe it's because the photo isn't so good. Sorry. Viriditas (talk) 08:46, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- Good find. :) I never went to a rijsttafel and had no idea it existed. But, I've had lots of those dishes, but I'm not sure where. Probably the same places that sold those square strips of fermented, compressed bean sprouts, which I can't remember the name of either. That was good--strange but good. - This dang Interweb thingy is neato. I even found the exact restaurant. It's called Batavia. This pic matches the original.[3] Viriditas (talk) 09:14, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- Anna, check out the article on padang food. I think it has some of the dishes you are talking about. Viriditas (talk) 09:27, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- That looks like a nice restaurant. Nice padang food article. I like those dishes. And tempeh. that's the stuff. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 11:30, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- I don't think I've ever had fried tempeh, Indonesian style. In the states they tend to bake or lightly grill it. However, I'm trying to avoid excess phytoestrogens. :) Viriditas (talk) 00:19, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

Need a help
I had created this page Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Specialities Centre which comes under hospital category.. yesterday this page content was removed and redirected to a page Dr V. Mohan which is a biography about the founder the above hospital. without any intimation this page content was removed and redirected.. i have restored the content and have asked for the reason in the talk page of User talk:Randykitty How to proceed on this and what should i be doing ?? Thanks again !! Sayowais (talk) Owais 13:18, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- Oddly, per WP:ATD-R and WP:ATD-R, he is allowed to do this. You contested it by reverting and now he really should discuss it before redirecting again. Although the action circumvents deletion or merge procedures, it is a fast way to do things and preserves the content in the history of the redirected article. In this case, I think User:Randykitty was right to do it. All the references at the clinic article only really discuss the doctor, and the clinic is covered in the target article. A single article seems best. If you want some of the content from the clinic article added to the doctor article, copy it and paste it to the doctor article. You are permitted to copy paste content from one location to another within Wikipedia provided that you state the source in the edit summary. For example, an appropriate edit summary would be: "copied content from [[article name]]; see that article's history for attribution". If you think the articles should remain separate, discuss it at the article talk page. I suspect that if you insist on separate articles, an WP:AfD of the clinic article will follow, and likely result in deletion. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:22, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
- hmmm if page has to merged why not the biography be merged in the hospital page..I am not saying because i sarted the hospital article because most of them aware of hospital then the founder..people generally search about hospital then about the person..what do u day on this?? Any how m speaking to randy let see what he says. Sayowais (talk) Owais 18:57, 22 February 2014 (UTC)

Nehapant19
Can nothing be done any more? Soham 16:42, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for asking. Something must be done for sure. More than anything, I would love to see User:Nehapant19 come forward at his talk page, and ask to be unblocked with the promise to help clean up. As for getting rid of the copyvios, there are two choices: I can send this to Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations or try to organize a team to handle it. This is a big one, so I don't know what to do. Thoughts? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 23:57, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
- The block log shows this is his first block, blocks are meant to be an escalative process, simply indeffing someone for drawing their attention is a bit too much, if you ask me. But then again its because of copy-vio's so I ask you to reduce the block. The way forward as I see it—
- Reduce block to 1 month
- In the meantime send him to Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations for investigation
- I'll mentor him/her if all goes well and make sure s/he does not copy-paste again
- The above all will apply only if he hasn't opened a illegitimate account now, which I think he hasn't because I keep track of the pages he edits (B'wood) and would have spotted him by now if he had. Thanks. Soham 13:57, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
- I very much appreciate Soham for offering to mentor this user and mostly agree to what he has suggested, but one small thing I would like to point to is that User:Nehapant19 is most possibly a sock account of User:Nitishkumartn. -- SMS Talk 18:37, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
- Some responses all around:
- Thank you Smsarmad for making the sock connection.
- I think it is very likely that Nehapant19 and Nitishkumartn are the same person. The latter just resumed editing after I blocked the former. They edited the same obscure articles incommon [4] but the latter doesn't show copyvios from a quick spot check.
- Note that User:Nehapant19 and User:Nehapent19 exist.
- I think this has already been pointed out somewhere, but User talk:Nehapent19 is listed at the Yasir72.multan SPI where User:Mark Arsten wrote "...tagged and blocked indef...".
- I knew I'd seen the name Nehapent19/Nehapant19 listed at an SPI but couldn't remember which. I follow quite a few. I even asked at the IRC admin channel but nobody responded. It was driving me nuts.
- Had this sock matter not arisen, a one month block would not have been an option for me. That would have been punative. I blocked to get the editor to talk and to prevent further damage. In hindsight, it was a mistake. At the time, I didn't know of the socking matter, and should have kindly posted about the problem and solicited help fixing things. Although the user doesn't talk, it would have been worth the shot.
- Thank you Soham for being so helpful.
- User:Nehapent19 and User:Nitishkumartn could be added to the Yasir72.multan SPI but oddly, I don't see a connection between User:Nehapent19/User:Nitishkumartn and the Yasir72.multan socks. Am I missing something obvious?
- The Nehapent19 case really ought to go to Wikipedia:Contributor copyright investigations because of the size.

Indian editors who use BOIndia.com as source are hard to come-by, those who are not POV-pushers, I did not want to lose such an editor who came once in a blue moon. Thanks.Note:Anna, I have restricted time, you post so frequently my last edit got entangled in edit-conflict, please try to cover all points in a single edit and wait for a sometime for a reply. :) Soham 17:06, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- I just added Nehapant19 to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Nitishkumartn. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 15:18, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- @Anna On User talk of Nitishkumartn, I see a number of copyright related messages/warnings but don't see even once that the user replied to any of them, something that I find similar to Nehapant19. Some COPYVIO edits of Nitishkumartn: Boss (2013 Hindi film) (Source), Barauni Thermal Power Station (Source), Gursharan Singh (Source), Gursharan Singh (Source). Also his second block was also because of Copyright problems.
- About the impersonating account (Nehapent19) tagged as a sock of Yasir72.multan. He is a different user who besides some other disruptive activities creates impersonating account of users who he wants to get blocked or has some disputes with (some other examples of this: User:RHworth, User:Smsarmand). As can be seen on Nehapant's talk there was some dispute between him and socks of the Yasir72.multan (1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Besides that conflict among the two I also don't see any similarity in their editing patterns, from which I assume that the two aren't related. I hope this clarifies. -- SMS Talk 18:42, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- The imposter thing, of course. And thanks for digging up the copyvios. That's the clincher for me.
- I'd love to communicate with this person but I don't know at which page. He is trying to build the encyclopedia because he made lots of other edits that were simply referencing. He obviously doesn't like the idea of copyright restrictions stopping him, but may need a heart-to-heart about how damaging it is in terms of editor resources used to undo these edits -- time we could have spent building. Our copyvio warnings don't seem to express that. They just come across as those boilerplate warnings we see on media packaging. Those warnings are there to protect profits and are despised. I can see people who hate copyrights saying "Ha! Freedom!" and doing it anyway without realizing that doing it to Wikipedia isn't the same. It really hurts the project. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 19:22, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- Usually if I find editors doing Copyvio edits I report them after two warnings but in this case I didn't because I agree that he was doing useful edits also. One reason that appeals me the most for his persistent Copyvio edits, may be English is not his native language and he finds it difficult to rewrite in his own words, the same can be true for his inability to communicate. But this can't be the case for his image uploads. Whatever the reason for this I think he should at least nod once that he now understands the problem with his edits and will improve. Actually I find {{uw-copyright-new}} very comprehensive, fits to its purpose in every manner and conveys the message in a soft tone. But yes it doesn't mention the point you raise. Probably you can add it. -- SMS Talk 20:23, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- Good points. Despite the silence of the editor and so many previous warnings, I still regret the indef. Now the editor is likely socking (hopefully User:Soham can spot his reappearance). Next time I encounter such a case, it will be a plea-and-monitor strategy for plenty of reasons.
- Usually I am very soft with new copyvio offenders. (Search NEW FIRST TIME COPYVIO at [7])
- I like {{uw-copyright-new}} but find it a bit long. I might use parts of it for my junkbox and then add the new bit I think might help. Actually, do you think I'm allowed to do that without attributing each time I paste it to a user talk page? (I'm not kidding. Have I been breaking the rules this whole time?) Thanks for pointing me to that template. I'm much obliged. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 20:48, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- I don't think attribution is required in this case but still I am not sure about that.
- Do you mind taking a look at Haseeb Ahmed Malik 786 (talk · contribs), persistently uploading copyrighted images and now with some dubious licensing. -- SMS Talk 15:14, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks. User:Smsarmad. I'm too late. I see he has been warned. I tried to reply here yesterday but couldn't save the page due to this Internet trouble I'm having. I'll keep an eye on his contribs. Any further vios and I will give him a last warning. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:34, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

Update on SPI
I believe that Nitishkumartn is indeed a sock of Nehapant19, the name appeared too many times on my watchlist today = spike in activity after block. *Sigh* Anna, could you please take a look at Daan001's contribs as well because the user has difficulties in writing english which in most times is the sole reason for resorting to copy-paste and I think because s/he knows what copy-vio is, trying to write in own words (broken english). More so he uses BOI.com as well. Soham 14:23, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
- I've been watching his contribs and haven't seen any recent copyvios, so there's no panic. Let's see what happens at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Nitishkumartn.
- I see nothing for Daan001. Are you sure you have the name right? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:28, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

Result of the Nitishkumartn SPI
The results of the Nitishkumartn SPI show that he is the same as Nehapant19. DoRD then pointed us to the Satyashiva SPI, which mentions other SPIs. Here is the list. Is there one big connect? A group of paid editors? A single master. I see Tito and Soham following this at various places. Is there some way we can sort this whole thing out? Where do we go from here?
Anna Frodesiak (talk) 23:08, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- IMHO, I don't think Nitishkumar/Nehapant19 were paid editors, they simply happened to be editors lacking knowledge of english (justifies copy-paste) but had good-faith. Satyashiva, Sanjeetbond, Sameer Arpitagwe if observed closely one similar pattern can be noticed which makes it extremely plausible that they were paid editos— They became active during August 2013, right around the time Chennai Express released. They edited Box office sections of articles, included highly vague promotional content and they appeared on the article of its competing film, Once Upon ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara!. What is more suspicious is that the Sock-puppetry ceased completely after a few months, surprising considering the initial burst of Socking which go on for months at a time generally, meaning they disappeared when their motive was no longer valid. If this kind of promotion becomes the norm for Bollywood films then in the near future we might experience a sea of soap-boxing and frankly speaking there is no way to prevent it, we can only counter it nothing other than that. We need able spam-fighters, NPOV defenders and admins of course who are willing to make tough decisions at times to maintain the integrity of Wikipedia, policies would have to be ignored. —Soham 13:33, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you, Soham. That is helpful. Let's be on the lookout for Nitishkumar/Nehapant19 reappearing. As you may have noticed, Nitishkumartn was blocked and one of his last edits was another copyvio. As for the future emergence of socks when new films come out, yes, we must do what we usually do. However, personally, I think I'll continue to comply with policies. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:55, 24 February 2014 (UTC)

Things to know about Knee Replacement Surgery Knee replacement surgery is the surgical process of replacing the diseased knee joint with artificial material like plastic or metal. The surgery can either be partial or total knee replacement depending upon the condition of the patient. The patients who suffer from severe knee pain while walking or performing any activities due to knee injuries or age related knee cartilage degeneration usually complain the gnawing pain. They experience knee stiffness and decreased mobility that can only be controlled by unsafe medicines or pain killers to some extent. But when the person is unable to resist from the pain, the orthopaedic surgeon will suggest or recommend undergoing knee replacement surgery to the patient. There are certain important things you need to know before you go for a Knee Replacement: 1. Total knee replacement surgery is not usually advised for younger patients as the average life span of the surgery is 10-15 years. In course of time, if it wears out sooner, they have to go for an additional surgery which is not advisable or recommended. It is more likely for younger patients to undergo partial knee replacement for the cartilage damage caused by diseases or injuries. 2. The ideal patient for knee replacement surgery is above 60 years and with trust and hope that the patient will proactively be mobile and be positive towards the lifestyle he/she maintains. He/she should be not over weight and presume to carry the pain after the surgery and try to overcome the surgical pain from physical therapy without any discomfort. 3. Knee replacement surgery is performed under general anaesthesia, in this procedure the surgeon makes a surgical excision using a scalpel or a laser that apparently bleeds less during and after the surgery. When the surgeon reaches the knee joint, he will remove the damaged or diseased knee joint and cartilage debris. He places metal or ceramic prosthesis in that joint area. 4. After the surgery the patient has to follow the precautions suggested by surgeon, in diet, exercise, medication and other relative matters. The patients can resume to normal activities but not indulge in heavy weight lifting, jogging and skiing. 5. The success rate of knee replacement surgeries is 95% and many patients have undergone successful surgeries. |

- Third Noah, it's best not to write an article about yourself because it's impossible to be objective and impartial about oneself. You need to document the statements in any biography with reliable sources (published, third party documentation). Liz Read! Talk! 19:00, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
- P.S. I just noticed that it was a User Page that was deleted. There is more leeway there than in an article but it still shouldn't be used to promote oneself or any political or religious views. Liz Read! Talk! 19:04, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hello Mr. Neuhoff. I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier. I somehow removed your talk page from my watchlist.
- That is a touching biography. Further to what Liz says, if you want your message to get out through Wikipedia, then an article is the only way. Your userpage cannot be for that purpose. Now, to get an article: get famous or get your organization famous (see WP:42) and then very quickly, someone will create the article. There really isn't any other way. Very best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:42, 5 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello Anna, I'm here to ask you if there is any guidelines which indicates that "one must give replies to queries of other users."
I know you are thinking that I'm asking strange questions. But actually this user has not given any answers of any queries since 2012 but he was active. He has tagged some pages with deletion tags but some are actually not appropriate to be deleted. Maybe I'm wrong so I was wondering if you can take a look.
BTW I'm not creating new articles right now, but I'm trying to rescue articles which are at AfD. Jim Cartar (talk) 13:35, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
- User:Mike Rosoft has a lot of Wikipedia experience (Registered 6/10/2004; 55441 edits; sysop) so he probably knows what he's doing. His AfD statistics are good.
- A tip: It is very helpful when asking someone to look into something for you, to provide diffs, links, examples, etc. I look forward to seeing those. Thank you. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:15, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Nomination of Fuzhou Airlines for deletion
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Fuzhou Airlines is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fuzhou Airlines (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. — ΛΧΣ21 Call me Hahc21 23:17, 7 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Anna, I found out about this AFD discussion too late and the article has already been deleted. The proposed airline just received the approval from CAAC last week, so it's definitely not WP:CRYSTAL. Kraxler's assertion that only English sources can establish the airline's notability is pure nonsense. I think its deletion is a mistake and the article should be recreated. Regards, -Zanhe (talk) 23:10, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hello, Zanhe and @Hahc21: @Kraxler: . I knew that non-English sources are okay, but just not preferred. I use such sources all the time. When he talked of translation, Kraxler was referring to using them in a quote. I didn't correct him. I figured that the article should be deleted anyway because even if the airline got approval, it is still hasn't done anything other than to say "please let us do something". I figured there's no harm in waiting till there's more to report. I'll tell you what, the instant they do anything, I'll recreate it. We can keep an eye on their website, which at the moment is just a placeholder stite. Thoughts? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:44, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
- Please note Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)#Primary criteria. For airlines, I would informally propose that notability may be presumed if, either, the airline is registered with IATA, ICAO or any other international aviation organization, or, they have at least one airplane in the air. Kraxler (talk) 14:49, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
- I don't think even IATA, ICAO should be enough. I'd like to see a plane. Talk is cheap. :) Anna F remote (talk) 02:47, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
Help requested
Hi, Anna. You're pretty familiar with Wikipedia:Tools, so I thought I would ask you a question about them. A while back I used a tool to compare text from two different articles. It's possible that it compared diffs from two different articles and displayed the same/changed text in different colors. I want to do this with Pacer (album) and The Amps. I'm reviewing The Amps for GA, and I'm concerned that the two articles are virtually the same so I want to use the tool to see the differences but I can't remember the name of it. Any help you can offer (or from your stalkers) would be appreciated. Viriditas (talk) 05:19, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hello Viriditas, and Anna. I'm not sure if this is the tool, but it can do some of what it seems you've suggested.—John Cline (talk) 05:35, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks, John. I think I used a different tool that showed side-by-side comparisons of two diffs, one from article1, the other from article2. Viriditas (talk) 05:47, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
- I'll be interested to know of this tool myself. In its stead, It seems that you could open the edit window for each of the diffs, Replace one with a copy of the other, and show changes. That would give a side by side comparison but of course you risk accidentally saving it.—John Cline (talk) 07:26, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
- It was several years ago. Is there a diff tool that lets you compare diffs from two different articles? Viriditas (talk) 09:42, 8 March 2014 (UTC)

- Very interesting. You could copy paste one to a sandbox (with attrib of course) then replace it with the other in the next edit, then check the diff. I didn't check the two articles you're talking about, so that may be a dumb suggestion. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 09:58, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hmmm...I wonder if that will work. Good suggestion. The tool I remember using did that and highlighted the same words and phrases. I'll try it, thanks. Viriditas (talk) 10:01, 8 March 2014 (UTC)

some help needed for yellow cars
Hi Anna, how are you?
While hanging around the help channel, I found someone who needed help with yellow cars. It seemed to be on zh.wiki
So basically this page ... can you maybe offer them some advice?
I tried offering them advice but I am very sarcastic and constantly talk about guns and also unicorns.
Thanks if you can help! --Demiurge1000 (talk) 01:53, 9 March 2014 (UTC)

If you can do
Hello Anna, I'm here again to ask you for some help. Can you create a edit note for a noticeboard? I have already created a template for that ( you can see the template here ). The thing you have to do, just copy the template code I mentioned above; create a edit notice template. I think you already know, The template will look like this (Template:Editnotices/Page/The Name of the noticeboard
). And then paste the code into this template. That's all.
I'm not yet a Wikipedia:Template editor, that is why I cannot perform this action. So I'm telling you. Let me know if you can do this. BTW can you please perform your admin powers to protect this script. Thanks. Jim Carter (talk) 20:13, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- Please explain what all this is for. Thank you, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 05:57, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
- There might be 4 main reasons
- It will welcome new users in the noticeboard.
- It will explain what the noticeboard is actually for. I mean what type of queries can be asked there.
- It will help new users to post there queries in appropriate places.
- This notice will avoid merging of new posts made by new users with older posts.
Some other reasons, although not important enough.
- A new look.
- My first work as a template developer (This point might be avoided 0:-) )
- A unique look; with colors and pictures related to Indian values. etc.
- Beside this the script is under creation. The protection is not needed now. This script will enable a talkpage message tool for the noticeboard. Imagine a new user asked a question there. But he don't have the page on his watchlist. If his question is answered by someone then semi-automatically he will receive a talkback with a link refering to the discussion. Now you know what is this for. So, can you help me??. BTW do you operate any Bot ??. Jim Carter (talk) 08:59, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
- This edit notice looks like tinkering and unnecessary instructions, and I don't see any other project using one. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with building the encyclopedia. As for the script, if other projects have this, then please ask whoever set it up for those pages. I'm going to pass on these requests. Consider taking it up at the project talk page. Maybe someone else can help. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 12:10, 14 March 2014 (UTC)
- I can make changes in the template, I know that no other project use this. That is why I suddenly thought of making a new revolution. As for the script. It is also a new revolution no other projects use this. But I think that it will get some positive reviews. Anyways thanks. Your thoughts. Jim Carter (talk) 14:54, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

Link redirection not working help needed
Hello Anna, Please check the page Thalassery biryani. In the infobox there is a link to the Wiki Cookbooks for the same title this link is not not working. I believe you have modified the infobox, Thank you for that and it looks good too. Please try to correct the redirection Please find the correct link below
--Sunaina Kunju (talk) 14:22, 16 March 2014 (UTC)
- Hello Sunaina Kunju. Just to be clear, the box you present in this post has nothing to do with the infobox. The problem is with the link at the infobox at the top of the article, correct?
- I don't think it was my modifications that broke the infobox links. It may be something to do with the infobox itself. It was recently changed. The link to the cookbook is automatic based on the title of the infobox or name of the article, I don't know which. It should go to https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Cookbook:Thalassery_biryani or https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Cookbook:Biryani but instead goes to https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Cookbook:Thalassery_Biriyani/Thalassery_Biriyani. User:Northamerica1000 is one of the editors involved in improving that infobox. Perhaps he can help.
- Please, give it a bit of time while we work this out. In the mean time, you can focus the link at the bottom of the article (the box that you present in this post). Right now it goes to Biryani, which lists a number of different types. You can make that link go right to a specific recipe if you want. Either way is fine with me.
- Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 19:57, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Fixed: made an incorrect assumption about {{wikibooks-inline}}'s parameter handling. A better fix would involve some changes there to allow for a title, but the links are working again now. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 10:52, 17 March 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Trying to help another editor install a script
Hi Anna! I've been trying to help an editor install this script that detects HarvErrors automatically, but he seems unable to do it despite the detailed instructions I posted here on his talk page. After repeated efforts, all he is missing is an apostrophe. I would like to help him, but of course I can't edit User:Borsoka/common.js (his version of Special:MyPage/common.js), where the script should be installed. Can admins do that? If so, it would be wonderful if you could take a few seconds to add the missing apostrophe left of the word "User" so that the script can finally work! Or you could simply replace his mistaken line with importScript('User:Ucucha/HarvErrors.js');
, which is the correct syntax. Hope you're doing well, and keep up the good work! Madalibi (talk) 09:24, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Election in India
Hello Anna, I'm here to let you know that there is going to be a national elections in India, I have noticed considerable non registered users going rampage on party pages i.e. Political party related articles with various claim and citation with defaming or praising. From my personal experience I know that they will try to publicize there views about the political party through Wikipedia, So, I'm here to ask if you can semi-protect this pages for the next few days so that any type of vandalism can be stopped. This are the pages which can face vandals BJP, INC, NDA, UPA. They will try to do something like this and this, Thanks. Jim Carter (talk) 12:48, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
- Protection could be appropriate indeed. It may be a good idea to post at project India to get some agreement on what ought to be protected. Then you can ask me or post at WP:RFPP citing the thread. Also, this may help get more eyes on the articles in question. I'm just off to bed, so if nothing is done, I'll look into the diffs and the histories tomorrow and see. Also, a stalking admin may wish to immediately protect something. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:39, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Population Matters logo
Hi Anna,
Our Population Matters logo is blue text on a white disc on a dark background and the reverse on a light background, so the version on our Wikipedia page is the wrong version in that context. I have loaded the right one. I hope that is OK and that I have done it correctly.
Thanks,

Re-starting something
Hello Anna, need your advice and opinion again. I'm a participant of the Wikiproject Orphanage. The main work the project members do is to de-orphan articles tagged by {{orphan}}. But I noticed that the project is becoming inactive. Only few participants were working. Although almost all participants were regular on Wikipedia but the are not cooperating with this project. Hence the backlog of orphan articles reached sky high with more than 200,000 orphan articles since 2008. I noticed that members are not having interest in joining the project again. If this continues then I'm sure that this project will also become inactive.
- Just like saving an old abandaned draft, I have decided to save this project from being inactive. I have started a new backlog drive system. Just like AfC it will also send backlog drive notification to its participants with attractive offers like giving them rewards in the form of barnstar. This will automatically attract the attention of users and they will join again so that the project will become fully active again. I have created a backlog drive notification template {{WPORPHANdrive}} and the list of members who will be notified is here. But it is impossible for me to send them re-join and backlog drive notice on there talkpage (There are more than 40 members). So, I need mass message right for aleast someday to carry out this. I have learned, that to request mass message right I need support from atleast two other Wikipedian (Not compulsary). So I was wondering if you can support me in this matter. Along with your opinion a small comment is also appreciated. Thank you. Jim Carter (talk) 19:55, 26 March 2014 (UTC)

- I believe there is already a WP:WikiProject Bacon, although it seems to have been, uh, borrowed by the WMF for the time being. Maybe this justifies a WP:WikiProject Sausages as well?
- A sausages wikiproject would also be more culturally palatable to some parts of the subcontinent and south-east Asia where any form of bacon is haraam. It's relatively easy (for a butcher with the right abattoir) to make halal sausages, and even meat-free sausages are quite palatable, whereas meat-free bacon exists but is mostly pointless. (I do like meat-free meatballs, strangely enough.)
- Personally I like to eat sausages and bacon both on the same sandwich; the crispness of the one complements the juiciness of the other perfectly. (Adding Tabasco Sauce is also wise.) --Demiurge1000 (talk) 22:17, 29 March 2014 (UTC)

- Another dandy! You've single handedly built all the food list articles at Wikipedia. Very nice! :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:54, 1 April 2014 (UTC)
- That's quite an exaggeration, although I have created a significant number of them. You have created many yourself! Thanks! NorthAmerica1000 00:39, 2 April 2014 (UTC)

A century
Hi Anna,
I am pleased & proud to share one of my achievements with you. I have just created my 100th article on Wikipedia. Thanks for all your support, guidance & help.
Superfast1111 (talk) 09:35, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
- Congratulations. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 11:30, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
Anna, if you remember in October 2013 we had a rather extensive discussion on inclusion of time tables. Well Abishek191288 is back again. After failing to utter even a single word during the discussions, once again he is removed content which just gives a outline of the run. Ofcourse, it is how i perceived the discussion. Could you take a look & advise me on how do i solve the issue?? The page in question is Pushpak Express again. Superfast1111 (talk) 15:27, 29 March 2014 (UTC)
- I replied with this edit. So, the bottom line from my perspective is that his absence from the discussion doesn't matter. Six editors object to the tables. Solving the issue would mean accepting that the tables are not wanted in the articles, or, reopening the discussion and getting such overwhelming support for the timetables that the new discussion would usurp the old discussion. I don't think that is possible, though. Please continue the discussion at Talk:Pushpak Express#Unresonable edits if you wish. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 21:39, 29 March 2014 (UTC)
Hello again, please protect this page. Unregistered users were adding vandal materials. I have reverted one but I think protection is needed for sometime. See history. Thank you. Jim Carter (talk) 02:30, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
Ah now I see it has already been protected by someone else. Jim Carter (talk) 03:58, 31 March 2014 (UTC)

Blood sports
Hi. I've made some rather bold edits to the list section on Blood sports. I was wondering, as you are an active editor on the page, what you think about the changes? All the best. __DrChrissy (talk) 18:35, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
- I think it's a good improvement. Such a sickening article to begin with. I mean, why would anyone partake in goose pulling? What's wrong with people. I really don't like geese one bit, but I can't imagine why they wouldn't have just used a tennis ball on a string? It's wanton cruelty. Horrible! Anyway, yes, a good improvement. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 21:43, 3 April 2014 (UTC)
- Glad you approve of the changes. I too find it amazing (and depressing) the ways in which humans have entertained themselves at the expense of animals. I felt the goose pulling image was a good one because it immediately informs the viewer what the subject is about, but is not so graphic that it might cause complaints (there are plenty of those images out there).__DrChrissy (talk) 16:52, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- I think the image is appropriate for the reasons you state. As for humans, I'm not a big fan of humans. My least favourite species. I just don't understand cruelty. The definition of the words "humane" and "inhumane" should be reevaluated. Both should be removed from the dictionary. I like dogs. Dogs are love personified, or should I say dogonified or maybe dogified. Actually, "dogified" conjures up images of what a sofa would look like after a couple of months in a dog house -- pretty disgusting. And why on Earth do they want to lie on their back on top of a dead crow?? And then twist around rubbing their body into it? Why?? And then they expect to be allowed to walk right into the house. What are they thinking? But still, dogs are lovely. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 17:13, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- I grew up with a Border Collie who used to love rolling in fish from peoples bins! There are actually good ethological reasons for it, but knowing that does not stop the stink! __DrChrissy (talk) 18:17, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- The ethological reason is that they love how they smell after. To them, it's a great reason. I love border collies. Smartest dog ever. The complete opposite of the Basenji -- effectively a retarded dog. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 18:25, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- It's actually thought the rolling in smelly stuff is to cover up their own smell when hunting - a hangover from being a wolf! Poor Basenjis.__DrChrissy (talk) 18:53, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Population Matters - logo 01.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Population Matters - logo 01.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 15:16, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Diannaa. I didn't make a fuss about the logo when asked above at User_talk:Anna_Frodesiak#Population_Matters_logo because I figured if challenged, we could just swap in the license {{PD-Textlogo}}. I wasn't sure if it could be used at enwp files. Can we still just do that to solve the problem? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 15:24, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- Ohhhhh, I see now. I uploaded the first version File:Population Matters - logo 01.jpg. I mixed it up with the replacement File:Population Matters logo.jpg. Sure, let's let the 01 version speedy delete. For the record, I probably didn't know about the PD-Textlogo license at the time I uploaded the 01. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 15:29, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
Re sock investigation
Just wanted to reply to your comment on Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Shahid_kapoor_fanclub_balurghat/Archive. I opened that sock investigation before you blocked the accounts. You mentioned BEANS, but I chose not to "alert the user" when reporting to avoid that very thing. Is there something I should have done differently? Cheers. EvergreenFir (talk) 15:26, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- Oh, okay. I saw the userpage sock tagging and figured you'd opened the SPI just then. All's fine. I'm glad you didn't alert the user. He probably knows by now because of the tagging. That's the result of the SPI. That's why I often don't start an SPI for such cases. If it's a person who gets his account blocked, then registers another to evade, then an SPI may be needed. But, in cases where it's just a self promo user or in this case, probably just a young person trying to express himself, then I tend to quietly block and maybe leave a note. An SPI could give him a purpose and a hobby all at once. But, no, you didn't do anything wrong. It's a judgement call. I think lots of good editors would start the SPI. I just try, as a first response, to do my best to follow the course of least effort, risk, and resistance. This case fits into the DENY/BEANS-no SPI plan quite well in particular because of the fact that the usernames and content are so similar. The accounts don't need CUs. The proof that it's the same person is right there. Sorry for the long reply. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 15:42, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- Cool. I just wanted to get your take on it. In the past I've alerted admins like Gogo Dodo and Daniel Case directly about sock accounts like that when I'm patrolling the user creation log. I didn't know the SPI slapped a template on the userpages automatically like that, so I'll avoid it when possible. Mind if I message you if I see suspicious activity in the future? EvergreenFir (talk) 15:47, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- I hope my take is right. I'd like some stalkers to give their view so I can learn if I'm doing things wrong. Yes, the result of an SPI usually results in a socktag at the userpage. I think it can give some users a sense of self-importance. It's a case-by-case thing. As you can see, I post at the accounts to inform others of the connection. Anyhow, yes, plese let me know if you find sockish stuff. Don't forget to omit the links when posting here so as not to ping the stuffing. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 15:58, 4 April 2014 (UTC)
- Will do! Thank you! EvergreenFir (talk) 15:59, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

User name question
Not sure if this deserves an ANI or not so I'll ask you: this user's name (StopLibelESQ) border's on violating on WP:NLT in my opinion. Do you think this warrants an ANI post? EvergreenFir (talk) 01:20, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
- I don't think so. To my eyes, assuming good faith, it more says "I'm changing the text away from what others may find libelous, to something safe, in order to protect Wikipedia." You could post a welcome and a note that, while assuming good faith, asks a question or two about his intentions (like whether or not he is associated with Rifkin, i.e. his attorney :) or is just here to help improve and protect Wikipedia), and makes him aware of WP:NLT. From ASIF IQBAL (DJ-Remixer-Producer)
Hi Anna,
I read your message, on why my page has been deleted. I understand that this is not a personal blog/website/social networking site. I'm not trying to use Wikipedia as a marketing or promotional tool for myself and I'm not hosting any fake articles.
Here, I need your help to put up my page back on and please do let me know what are the things you found are fake and you found that its been using as to promote myself, then i will remove it from the particular section.
Thanks & Regards,
Asif Iqbal — Preceding unsigned comment added by ASIF IQBAL (DJ-Remixer-Producer) (talk • contribs) 19:25, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Asif,
- I didn't mean that the facts were "fake". I meant that the whole thing looked like an encyclopedia article. Please read what User:Binksternet wrote at your talk page again. It makes good sense. A question for you: Are you here at Wikipedia to help build this encyclopedia, or just to have a userpage for others to see?
- So, please feel free to start your userpage again, this time with only very basic information about yourself or your Wikipedia activities. (As you start to contribute to the project, others will not mind so much if your userpage contains more detailed information. As for an actual article about yourself, that does not seem possible right now, because it would likely not satisfy WP:42 (I googled your name, and found nothing).
New list
Hi Anna: Since you're a "listie" (one that likes list articles), check out the new List of butter dishes, and feel free to improve it. There are articles out there I've found that aren't categorized as such under Category:Foods featuring butter, so I've added some accordingly. Any Chinese foods around that use butter as a primary or significant component of dishes? NorthAmerica1000 23:57, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
- Mmmmmmmmmm, Butta! Here they call it milk oil. They wouldn't know what to do with it. The only place I've seen it used here is at hotel breakfasts. They make toast, let it cool and harden, then provide you with a small rectangle of butter in an individual package, cooled to -278 Kelvin. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:59, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
- Butter sachets are cool. Thanks for taking a look at the new article. Cheerio, NorthAmerica1000 02:28, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

Oodles of noodles
New articles in progress:
- That is oodles! (They should sell noodles by the oodle. It would be a good measure word.) I will take a look for sure. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:01, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
