Page on Dhosi Hill
Hi ! Titodutta, seeing so much work pending with you, I become reluctant to visit your talk page. However, two days ago in a discussion, rather a complaint, that I keep pushing very old dates on various pages related to Hindu books etc. I had given my submission there. I was expecting a comment from you. The complainant supported by editor Correct Knowledge made representation to you to take measures to block me from editing on various pages. Well, they have every right to ask for that. But some of the reasons given by them are bizarre claiming: how Manu can belong to any period as he was a mythological figure. Do they mean that he never existed in flesh and blood and Manusmriti is almost a Ghost book ? Please comment on this. Also, I'll request you to revert the contents on Dhosi Hill page which are related to floods. Sudhirkbhargava (talk) 06:22, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- The thing I understood from your editing trend that you are doing research work. Wikipedia is not a place for original research. Exceptional claims should be supported by exceptional citations! --Tito Dutta (contact) 06:40, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- I am disappointed at your response. My research work is different from my postings on Wikipedia. I have only posted the published work from different sources. There are no exceptional claims. These are simple facts with supports. You edited page on Bhrigu on 20th March. Are you satisfied with its present form ? Also could you be specific where I have put some thing researched, which did not have a peer review ? It is all there in Sanskrit Books already. Please also comment what are the views of Wikipedia on Manu, who dictated Manusmriti. Sudhirkbhargava (talk) 07:14, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- There are many, soem examples are given above. Also,
- 1 Using primary source and own writing as reference! Here you have reverted with edit summary "well sourced" but where are sources there? Please read WP:RS and WP:Secondary. You must add multiple secondary reliable sources when you are claiming something which happened 10,000 years ago! Also, to improve your editing skill, you can try WP:Adopt --Tito Dutta (contact) 07:24, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- I do not mind having a helper for editing these pages. But for your 2 points, A) Aryavarta was mentioned by Manu in Manusmriti itself and I have quoted the shalok no. as reference. All the rishis mentioned by me form the Saptrishis combine and were with Manu during floods and started compilation of Books like Rigveda and other scriptures. Rigveda has mentioned Rishis and their clans who contributed to the book. The third component of spiritual God Shiva is part of Taittiriya Upnishad. Though it was part of my PPP in a seminar which should be there on internet, I can put the reference from the Upnishad itself. But the fact is not unsourced. Pt 2 mentioned by you is from page Dhusar. You removed a sentence 'that people who migrated from dhosi Hill area follow Vedic sanskriti and ayurveda. I can give a published source to you, but as you are based in Kolkata, you can meet a Marwari family in Barabazar and find out from them about their original place and traditions they follow. They must be following Vedic Sanskriti and Ayurveda in day-to-day life. Last year I stayed in a hotel in Kolkata, where the manager proudly told me that LNMittal's residence is just behind, though he rarely comes here. Mittal community's trust manages half of the Dhosi Hill and they belonged to a nearby place, so do most of other Marwaries. The sentence was added on page in lighter vein. Can give a reference too. However, please let me know of a deletion before hand, so that I can put a citation for my additions. Recent archaeological findings on Vedic sites on the radio-metric analysis go back to 9500-9700 ago. Am compiling a list to put as references. Sudhirkbhargava (talk) 09:30, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- Whoosh! What my residence or Marwari family in Barabazar or PPP seminar have to do here? Write in brief and to the point! Wikipedia does not work in this policy: "information first, citation later.. maybe.. I'll think". You have to add citations (reliable and secondary) at the time of adding information! And enrol at WP:Adopt so that you can learn how Wikipedia works! --Tito Dutta (contact) 10:01, 23 March 2013 (UTC)

before i submit the article
Hello Mr Titodutta, Thank you for guiding me. I went through the manual too. It is an exciting world! I have removed the external links and replaced them with citations. I hope to add some more even after the article is accepted.
As for the content, I have avoided using judgmental words as well as superlatives. As the subject of the article, Mohan Deep himself is known for controversial biographies, one can't avoid mentioning them. I checked and saw that controversies are mentioned in the articles about several other writers too. What is a writer without a controversy :) I am submitting the article again. Please accept it and then it will be open to everyone for any valid corrections.

Suicide in UK
Hi Tito, Regarding the use of bold in the lede, please see the following advice from the WP:MOS: If the article's exact title is absent from the first sentence, do not apply the bold style to related text that does appear:
The Beatles' rise to prominence in the United States on February 7, 1964 was a significant development in the history of the band's commercial success. (The Beatles in the United States)
at Wikipedia:Lead section#Bold title. Thanks, Ericoides (talk) 11:08, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- Excellent point! I have been doing a series of suicides! I generally start with Suicide in Example is/was... See Suicide in Ukraine, Suicide in Ukraine etc. Recently I created Suicide in Greenland and nominated it at DYK! The hook was a catchy one Did you know in Greenland, 1 of every 5 people attempt to commit suicide? You can see the DYK credit above. Then a good number of good editors came and made lots of changes in that article. So, in the next article I was trying to follow the Greenland suicide format. Thanks for pointing out the MoS. I'll try to follow it while doing next suicides. BTW, I have nominated the UK suicide at DYK Template:Did you know nominations/Suicide in the United Kingdom --Tito Dutta (contact) 11:20, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
Hi Mr Titodutta
Thanks for the encouragement. I have noted everything and will revise the article soon. However, I have reservation about the comment inviting people to 'remove potentially libelous material'. Everything I have written is based on published articles and books (published in mid nineties) which remain unchallenged. 'Eurekha!' (about Rekha) has been extensively quoted in a series on Aaj Tak and I hope to give some of those links too. Regards. Farida F.Balsara (talk) 14:42, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
- If those are notable books, you can create separate articles on those, but don't add everything in the main article! --Tito Dutta (contact) 14:45, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
Rabindranath Tagore criticism
Hello Titodutta I checked out the article on Tagore. But in the impact section it contains nothing about the criticism of Tagore by Bengali or Indian writers contemporary of him. I think it is biased towards Tagore.
- Dwijendralal Ray
- Kaliprassanna kavya visharad
- Suresh Chandra Samajapati
were among the prominent critics. Even we have modern views like that of Girish Karnad. Can you point me some sources to improve the article. Solomon7968 (talk) 15:14, 24 March 2013 (UTC)

Threat
If it's a threat, please email emergency wikimedia.org. Don't post it on Wikipedia. 88.104.27.2 (talk) 04:28, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
- I have sent email and got a reply that they can't do much, since it was not sent via Wikimedia server! --Tito Dutta (contact) 04:41, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
- Been out sick for a bit, so I haven't a clue what you received, but it did remind me of my first threatening email on Wikipedia. It was from a habitual sockpuppeter that liked creating stubs that were 90% correct, but the other 10% of the info was from outer space. The funny part of the email said that as a Jewm he did not believe in a hell, but due to the actions of several of us editors to block him, Jews now believed in a hell.... only it is filled with evil Wikipedians. I think you need to come on down to Jewish/Wikipedian hell and join us. Bgwhite (talk) 07:25, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
- Here. I have been asked to stop online activities for seven days! --Tito Dutta (contact) 07:31, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
- Let me see if I have this right... Take seven days off and you will get some good rest, enjoy some nice free time and spend time with friends. So your threat is to actually enjoy life while mine is to live in a special Jewish hell with the likes of Magiodalitis. Just not fair. Well, I guess you are just going to have to show them and play. Bgwhite (talk) 08:29, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
- You could try checking the email headers. I believe that might give you some idea of who it came from, if it was sent directly to your email address. You can probably find out how to do it on your email program with a google search. Ducknish (talk) 15:49, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
Copyediting
Hi! I went and did a copyedit of the article WhisperToMe (talk) 19:25, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
suppose: re Paoli anubrato pic
I'll put it as a contrafactual:
1. suppose someone were to tell you *informally* that Paoli, anubrato and vimukti would - off the record - rather have the pic in the article than not. Would it make a difference?
2. You not only listed the pic for deletion: you removed it from the aricle.
Are you being prudish which is IMO *in this case* male chauvinism and therefore violative of NPOV? Already wikipedia *still* has a pro-israel bias!
So, only for once, I am undoing your change.
In not-near future I might undo it again but only at the request of interested parties - my lips will remain sealed on that one.
Officiallly, I am doing it on my own, for one, I am trying out the possiblity of the govt of india suing me for 'uploading obscene material' -- if they foolishly do so it will be an important test case..
regards,
manoj pandey. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Manojpandeyanarchocommunist (talk • contribs) 21:21, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
I removed both stills from the chatrak article - I had uploaded both. Because paoli requested me to. The lady is wonderful: she said explicitly that 'this is a request'
So, I support listing *both* images for deletion, because they are not being used for article. Tito, will you do that for me, I being a casual editor?
Meanwhile, I'm seeing if as the uploader I have the right to unilaterally remove both stills I uploaded.
Case closed: by all ethical standards Paoli has a veto on this issue.
Regards,
Manoj Pandey
Manojpandeyanarchocommunist (talk) 08:04, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
- Sure! I'll try to do so if you want. I was worried about the same thing: when the image is posted at Wikipedia, it immediately gets indexed by all search engines, including the giant Google in their first pages of search results. So, so far, what was only "leaked", it could be flooded through search engines. --Tito Dutta (contact) 08:13, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
continuing - yes i realise i've been silly..
yes, but I had thought there are high resolution torrents of the 3andahalf minute 'clip' - one is 8 minutes but it just the clip repeated plus black screen - *always* active and easily locatable via isohunt or fenopy... so anyone can torrent it and take snapshopts and upload them.
What I missed was that most of the prurient disgusting males are idiots and so a huge majority of them are so unbelievably tech-unsavvvy that they don't know how to use torrents or how to take snapshots from video files... so I unwitting did for them what they couldnt by themseleves - I've been incredibly silly and irresponsible - feeling terribly guilty.
Thanks for everything and regards,
Manoj Pandey
Manojpandeyanarchocommunist (talk) 08:57, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
- I knew about that Torrent file, though haven't seen it. If you search in Google (generally most people use Google to find content), you'll not get any "explicit" image other than some images and content from Hate Story! But, not this one. Once it is uploaded to Wikipedia, it immediately gets indexed by search engines and Wikipedia content is copied by hundreds of other sites. For this reason, I removed that image (not the other one, Dam wearing Saree) yesterday! Hope it makes sense now!
- For your information, I started working at Commons:Category:Paoli_Dam --Tito Dutta (contact) 09:08, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Hello Mr Titodutta,
As you advised, I have changed (or tried to change) my article on Mohan Deep to make it more suitable for encyclopedia style. Also, I have edited out some parts and may add them in new articles I plan to write. I may add some citation for the parts edited out now, specially about Mohan Deep's writings in Sindhi. Now, I don't see anything in the article that can be considered libelous. In any case, the trilogy (published in mid nineties) remains unchallenged till this time.
I am planning to do a piece on Sindhis but before that I'll check whether there is an article on the same subject in Wikipedia. Also, to add some material in different articles to enhance them further.
F.Balsara (talk) 05:20, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
- Arey, Balsara Ji, Kehra haal aahin? You have copyedited the article very well. It needs some more changes, 1) don't use ALL CAP 2) move the "Early life" section before "Literary career" and 3) I could not understand why you removed the date of birth! --Tito Dutta (contact) 05:28, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Arey Titodada :), I may do an article about Sindhis but I'm a Zoroastrian, got acquainted with the writings of Mohan Deep through Jam-E-Jamshed. I'll make the changes you suggested. I removed the reference to his date of birth as I don't know how to authenticate it. I don't want to approach him for every small thing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by F.Balsara (talk • contribs) 07:11, 26 March 2013 UTC
- You need to support it with reliable sources. If there are multiple good coverages on those books, you can start articles on those books too! --Tito Dutta (contact) 07:13, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Dada, for now, I'm leaving the early part where it is. I'll rewrite it once I get the supporting info and then shift it up. In fact, I came across the fascinating articles of Mohan Deep before he started writing books. He had exposed the corruption in 'Filmfare Awards' and his investigative article published in 'Island' (now defunct) was hailed as 'the most explosive story of the decade by Stardust'. It has interesting incidents like Amjad Khan refused to give bribe for getting an award for Gabbar Singh's role and Rajesh Khanna bribing them for getting an award for the best actor! F.Balsara (talk) 07:27, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
- I have made some changes and added an infobox. Eurekha seems to be a popular book. On that you can create a separate article. Literary career section needs a thorough copyedit! --Tito Dutta (contact) 07:35, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
- Below "Literary Career" section you can start a section "Bibliography" in the following format:
Year | Book | Language | Publisher | ISBN |
---|---|---|---|---|
Write the year when the book was published | Full name of the book | English/Sindhi etc | Name of the publisher | ISBN 978... |
Example | Example | Example | Example | Example |
Example | Example | Example | Example | Example |
--Tito Dutta (contact) 07:47, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Titoda, Thanks! I have used the format you showed and added a biblography to the article as well as given various citations. This will be my first article on wikipedia :) Must thank you for the encouragement. I'll start working on other articles now. In the meanwhile, one question: How long will the note above the article (about citations which are already there and libel) remain? I request that both may please be removed as neither the books have ever been dragged to court during more than 15 years nor have I really quoted from the books. Farida. F.Balsara (talk) 08:00, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

- a.They are clearly mentioned at "Active Local Blocks", not Local Blocks. If there is no current, active local blocks, "Active Local Blocks" you won't see any log. And in such cases you only see previous block logs at "Local Blocks". b. If you are not sure, seek help or unreserve, and notice what others are doing, this way you can learn. Your kind response needed
Hello, this is another mate on the English Wikipedia. If i'm posting in wrong place then sorry but i'd appreciated your comments. I know you're not Muslim but i saw your contributions for Swami Vivekananda and felt you're neutral. I'm requesting your comments as i feel some false accusation are being made without reliable sources in some Islam related articles that were created by a single editor User:BengaliHindu. Specially, i found this article 2013 Canning riots with lots of bias and false accusations against Muslims. May be i'm wrong but it may also possible that such articles were created per Islamophobia. I believe Wikipedia should be free from personal feelings or views and articles on sensitive topics need extra care to maintain a NPOV. I'd deeply appreciate your comments and advises. - I did GA review of the article Islam too. The Canning riot has nothing to do with Islam or WikiProject Islam UNLESS some head Imam or Delhi or some other major city or state mentions that as a significant event of Islamic culture in India. After the first look (yesterday) I felt, that was more a WikiNews topic (This is not an AFD vote or comment)--Tito Dutta (contact) 16:57, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
DYK for Debipaksha
On 3 April 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Debipaksha, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that in the film Debipaksha (2004), a Bengali priest named his three daughters Rebati, Haimanti and Jayanti, the names of Hindu goddess Durga? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Debipaksha. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
Looking for an adopter/mentor experienced in page layout, design/templates.
You may either hit me on my talk page or email me. if interested. Thanks. johncheverly 21:22, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

INCOTM coordinator
Please consider taking up the volunteer coordinator post of INCOTM, even if for 2-3 months. --Dwaipayan (talk) 17:11, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- I was just reading that thread! To concentrate on the thread of BengaliHindu, that INTCOM got missed. What one needs to actually as a coordinator? --Tito Dutta (contact) 17:14, 3 April 2013 (UTC)

- Yes, I saw that template, you used it on my talk page once. It looks good.

- INCOTM coordinator has essentially two parts of the work: one is maintaining the nomination page and announcing the winning nom for each month; and, generating report on the activity in the nominated article over the month. I personally think in case of shortage of time, you need not concentrate much on the report of activity, just before/after diff and whether a GA or FA nom was done/will be done is enough. However, that being said, mentioning the names of most active participants in the INCOTM article could be encouraging to new editors. See this report page, I think such report is quite extensive, and is not always necessary. The main thing is to start the process again. The History page is a good summary.--Dwaipayan (talk) 18:24, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- I have updated the history page and will update the reports page shortly. Tito can focus on getting the process started. Correct Knowledge«৳alk» 18:31, 3 April 2013 (UTC)
- Yup, let's start it. It's great that several editors are taking part in the process. We can ask for nominations for May.--Dwaipayan (talk) 14:31, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- I've filed the reports :) for August and September. We can start the nomination process now, finish it by 21–22 April and have a 40 day collaboration instead of the usual 30 days. If we extend the nomination process till May, many editors who are enthusiastic about this now might lose interest. Correct Knowledge«৳alk» 00:23, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Hi Tito, I don't think a welcome template was appropriate at all for Eliwiel, whose only edit was this one. It's hard to tell whether it was a test or blatant vandalism, but it certainly did not improve the article. Graham87 01:58, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Titodutta, you haven't been back to this page for a while, even to note that you did some expansion to the article. I've done some editing on your recent additions, and the article's now at 1525 prose characters, just enough. But the "citation needed" tag is still there, and has to be dealt with. If you want the nomination approved, you need to finish the necessary work and let us know that it's done. I hope you do. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:13, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- In this reply, I mentioned that part was already sourced. Did you miss it? I was expecting you to remove the CN tag like the other two CN tags where you told the page did not load completely! Anyway, I have gone ahead and made adjustments there removing the CN tag! --Tito Dutta (contact)
- Titodutta, thanks for doing that. It is up to you to fill in the citation in such cases: if you have a quote, the citation can't wait until the end of a paragraph, but must go no later than the end of the sentence where the quote ends. While I had fixed the other "citation needed" templates I had inserted due to my error in not seeing that the source contained the information, this particular spot had never had a citation and needed it. It looks like everything is done now, and the nomination ready for a final review: I've put out the call for a reviewer. BlueMoonset (talk) 19:03, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- Hey Tito Dutta! I took a look at the article and there is still at least one more thing that needs a cite and I also think you may want to go with another hook. I made some suggestion for potential alts. I think the article is very close to being ready. AgneCheese/Wine 06:21, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

- You are in some sort of hurry. Are you aware that a large number of GA reviews run for weeks (if not months)? If you see WP:GAN, you'll find many reviews where reviewers have just added note "I'll review" and have not returned after that! We have started the review just two days ago and you are finding it "stretch"! --Tito Dutta (contact) 14:31, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
- Though, I'm seeing if I can finish it in next few days! --Tito Dutta (contact) 14:35, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
- No, its not what are you thinking. I'm just worried about the verdict. I must say you are a great reviewer. You notice even small things, which I appreciate. Really, it is very heat warming that you noticed very small things. Apart from that, no I'm not hurry but I'm also working on the other articles as well and i can't work (without tension). My all attention is here. That's why. Thank You for the review. It was a great one.Prashant talk 14:42, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
- Note the starting of Talk:Parineeti_Chopra/GA2#Comments_part_04 Though length is not directly a criteria of GA. I never thought to and not going to fail the article because of its length! When I told "start class article", I had actually few suggestions to work on! Be assured! --Tito Dutta (contact) 14:51, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Hemorrhagic strokes are often fatal, although the prognosis depends on the size of the bleeding and amenability to surgical removal of bleeding. The good thing is she recovered promptly. There is no other pharmacological treatment as such, and physical therapy, exercise etc are the mainstay to regain strength.
