Articles for deletion/Automatic (Teairra Marí song)
Hi Davey. Could you elaborate on your close of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Automatic (Teairra Marí song). There are two advocating deletion with no objection to redirecting and one keep that is not supported by WP:GNG/WP:NSONG. Raintheone doesn't even indicate that he has looked for sources and only claims that there could be some. He even goes on to say that perhaps "Automatic" should be redirected
. How is this no consensus (except maybe due to lack of quorum which isn't mentioned in the close)? — JJMC89 (T·C) 03:56, 5 August 2016 (UTC)
- Hi JJMC89, The keep wasn't the strongest of arguments however the article wouldn't of been deleted on one !vote and it had already been relisted 3 times and didn't have much discussion either, Although you suggested redirect no one had really gone with it but anyway if you want to renominate I have no objections, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 09:56, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

Davey, when you've got a mo, could you cast your eye over Wikipedia:WikiProject Highways/Assessment/A-Class Review/Dartford Crossing? It's an attempt to kick-start the A class review procedure into life for those of us who can write GAs but never have enough time and bullheadedness to see FAC all the way through. As I believe it's on your doorstep, I'm sure you've got some views you can lob in. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:08, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
- Ah sorry to disappoint but I don't really participate in ACLASS/FACs/GAs etc etc but thanks for asking, Happy editing. –Davey2010Talk 15:08, 8 August 2016 (UTC)

Files needing renaming...
Please (but take your time to) review Category:Wikipedia files requiring renaming; you're the most reliable file mover I know :) -- The Pancakeof Heaven! 13:23, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Pancake, Sorry if this sounds harsh but I'm not a 247 filemover and there's over a million filemovers on here, I'll do this this once but I really don't mean this in a horrible way but I'm not going to be doing it everytime there's a backlog, The Commons backlog is alot easier to do than this one so I would happily assist at Commons but not so much on here , Anyway I'll do it now, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 13:27, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Burbank Bus
Howdy. Wanted to see if you could help me out. Had an IP user leave a message on my talk page (see here) about their edits to Burbank Bus. No freaking clue why they chose to ask me about it... But I was curious why you removed their edits? NOT accusing you of doing anything wrong at all. Just wanted to understand and possibly help the use understand if I can. Thanks in advance. --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 17:19, 11 August 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Zackmann08, Haha that's rather odd I mean your name isn't on this page so I have no idea , Anyway I'll reply on their talkpage as that way it keeps the discussion in one place and saves you and I going back & fourth :), Thanks for the heads up. Drifting Davey
Hi Davey: Nice images on your user page; you could perhaps change your user name to User:Drifting Davey! The wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round... Hey, what's up with you and bus articles? Other matters: I'm still waiting for you to create WP:HOTTIE, although in a droll manner, (ha ha) and inre using a TV monitor, you can always watch shows on the side when WP becomes tiring, so you are actually in a win-win situation. What's the problem? Also, check it out, the unicorn is drifting... North America1000 20:15, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Northamerica1000, Thanks :), Someone on Twitter apparently hates the userpage so good to know it's not entirely hated , God no that name sounds awful!, I mean I can just about live with "Davey2010", Unfortunately "Dave2010" was taken at the time so hence "Davey" ... Hate the name but sounds abit better than "Dave2010",
- Anyway no idea I just love buses , I've always loved them since I was a child, Haha I've forgotten all about HOTTIE , Haha bad news - The TV's not connected to any aerial but this monitor is infront of the living room TV so yeah either way it's a win ,
- As long as it doesn't drift to space lol, Anyway hope all is well, –Davey2010Talk 21:18, 20 August 2016 (UTC)
- You failed to please someone on the internet with your user page, oh my! Inre buses, I'm a fan of bus conversions. I may still design and customize one someday before I cash in my chips. Basically, multipurpose, for camping and traveling/rv parks, etc. Basically a house on wheels. Bus conversions are cool because you can design them any way you want, and also, bus conversions are just cool. North America1000 23:55, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

AFDs
Hi Davey - just wondering what was going on with the Jennifer Dupont & Jamie Langley AFDs? Obviously you've reopened but just confused what was going on? PageantUpdater (talk) 10:55, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
- Hi PageantUpdater, Long story short I had a feeling the keep !voter would kick up fuss and cause a fuckton of dramah over them so I decided to revert the lot, Obviously most of these get redirected however I thought it was best to simply reopen them & allow them to be relisted, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 11:04, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
- We'll see... I'm guessing it will all get redirected after all, but I understand your thinking. I'd love to know when all these articles changed from being considered notable - they passed many AFDs in the past - to being the victim of a couple of motivated editors but I'm past fighting it. Thanks for the quick reply. PageantUpdater (talk) 11:07, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
- PageantUpdater, I agree they all will but it's best to play by the book :), Consensus changes all the time and in all fairness AFD has become alot stricter, If you look at 2006 discussions and 2015/6 ones there's a huge difference, Anyway no worries, Thanks for asking!, Happy editing, –Davey2010Talk 11:14, 22 August 2016 (UTC)

Recent non-admin closures
Hello, Davey. I noticed that you've recently been closing some of the AfD's for state-level pageant winners. This issue is currently the subject of controversy, as evidenced by the RfC taking place on the talk page of the Beauty Pageant project. As such, these closures fall within the scope of Pitfall #1 of the guidelines for non-administrator closures. Although I am not asking you to undo any of these closures, I do ask you to reconsider whether you should be doing any more of them. NewYorkActuary (talk) 01:54, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
Hi NewYorkActuary, Consensus so far has always been to redirect these and in all fairness the redirects more or less have the strongest arguements, If consensus at the talkpage changes then I'd be more than happy to follow it, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 02:01, 26 August 2016 (UTC)- NewYorkActuary - Nevermind I've reopened and relisted it for you (Sorry for the pings!), Happy editing, –Davey2010Talk 02:22, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
- NewYorkActuary, Redirecting is the safest option in my opinion. It can always be undone later if and when the guideline is formulated. --Lemongirl942 (talk) 02:24, 26 August 2016 (UTC)

Biography feedback requested
Your input is requested about an RFC regarding Donald Trump. Here is a link directly to that RFC. The lead of that biography currently says, "Many of his statements in interviews, on Twitter, and at campaign rallies have been controversial." The RFC proposes to insert the words "or false" at the end of that sentence. Thank you in advance for participating. If you have the time, there is a second RFC at that talk page which proposes to instead add the words "or hyperbolic".Anythingyouwant (talk) 00:42, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Car designers
Instead of assuming I'm making things up, would it have hurt you to assume good faith, look to see if the people I posted are actually worked on those cars and help improve those articles? Or am I asking too much from you?--Guiletheme (talk) 14:59, 5 September 2016 (UTC)
- I never said that, You added names to an infobox without backing it up, Why should I ? ... You added the names so how about you source it, It's not my job to start sourcing because other editors couldn't be arsed, If you don't want your edits reverted then source them like everyone else on this project (and whilst I'm ranting - If I added someones to an ib or whatever I too would expect to be reverted), Everything here requires a source and you should know that as you've been here since 2012. –Davey2010Talk 16:09, 5 September 2016 (UTC)

I may just rename all of his images , You could start doing some normal name move requests over there, Get the file mover right, and then we can both start renaming everything I mean afterall sharing is caring & all that , –Davey2010Talk 03:39, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

- Your suggestion is how I imagine the first year or so of Wikipedia before the "kinder, gentler" 'Pedia admins came into being. @PageantUpdater: You have one deliberately revised, weakened ivote for redirect, one for redirect, from an individual I have now revealed to be voting reflexively without reading the article and two votes for Keep but you choose to obliterate the article and redirect? How do you arrive at this decision? OK, I had not posted the note yet, See here. It still should be obvious this editor could only compose a three word sentence. And that carries more weight, how? You could have looked at the article to see their one and (a possible) had less substance. What is most offensive is you are giving his bad faith editor a win. See here. So he didn't get sanctioned but his damage remains. All this does is encourage the bad behavior. At the time you deleted the article there were seven sources {WP:GNG should be met), primarily revolving around two incidents in her life, Miss Nebraska and the Gatorade incident which got substantial coverage. WP:BLP1E is not an argument as it is in so many cases. What grounds were cited for redirect? I urge you to rethink your decision. Trackinfo (talk) 09:02, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
- 1- Trackinfo That ANI discussion was closed as No Consensus and so it has no relevence here, Stop poking the bear
- 2 - PagentUpdater's !vote was even worse and yet I don't see you moaning about them .... I wonder why...., Anyway consensus is always to redirect the non-notable pagents and this AFD was no different, The redirect had the strongest arguement out of them all but ofcourse had you provided sources to back up your claims it may of been a different matter - All !keeps need to provide sources which you failed to do, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 10:26, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
consensus is always to redirect the non-notable pagents
please demonstrate this. I added four sources to the Gatorade incident including CBS Sports. Where did I fail to add sources? Trackinfo (talk) 20:35, 9 September 2016 (UTC)- Trackinfo - Well I kind of have just demonstrated it lol, You never stated once you added sources to the article so without sounding like a dick I'm not a mind reader, The sources IMHO are pretty crap however I'm relisting anyway. –Davey2010Talk 21:28, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
What happened?
Hey, man. I hope you know my last comments to you were simply on the humorous side because we've had that kind of on-Wiki relationship in the past. -- WV ● ✉ ✓ 00:35, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
- Just saw your uncharacteristic comments at AN3. Okay, you're disappointed in me. Not sure why. Policy is policy, no matter whose talk page comments/signature is altered or why. To edit war over something that is against policy is stupid and disruptive and should be reported. If you want to leave over this, then I'll say I'm not disappointed in you, just confused over your decision. But, it's your choice, nonetheless, and I've never been one to stand in the way of what seems to be a lack-of-good-sleep knee-jerk exit that will (hopefully) be seen differently in the light of day by the one doing the exiting. Take care. -- WV ● ✉ ✓ 00:45, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
- Winkelvi - Before I rant and rave I appreciate you sticking by TPO and helping out I honestly do and I too a point understand why you've edit warred but in all honestly do you think this was worth edit warring over ?, I never thought about making it public about me agreeing to it because I never thought it'd be an issue,
- I've seen silly wars in my time but this IMHO was the most silliest and I reached a point today where I thought "Is this seriously what this place has become ?, Edit warring over a f**king timestamp..." and I just lost all faith here and just didn't want to be apart of it anymore, Sure I've got pissed off in the past, Walked away, had a cuppa and came back with a fresh mind but I've never in the 3 years of being here actually wanted to go as much I have today ... I honestly sat outside at 2 in the morning, had a cuppa and debated or not whether to have this entire account indeffed I honestly did, As you can see I've realized there's positives to this site aswell and in all honestly I didn't think it was worth buggering off over,
- Anyway I apologize for the rant at AN3 - You were only doing what you thought was right and I deeply deeply appreciate that but yeah I just really didn't see the need to war over it,
- Aaaaaaanywaaaay it's a new day and all that - Lets forget today ever happened and just move on but I again apologize for the rant over there :)
- Winkelvi - Before I rant and rave I appreciate you sticking by TPO and helping out I honestly do and I too a point understand why you've edit warred but in all honestly do you think this was worth edit warring over ?, I never thought about making it public about me agreeing to it because I never thought it'd be an issue,
- TL565 - As much as I appreciate you helping out I would ask infuture if I or anyone makes a mistake with something to simply let me/them know first, I don't really have a problem as such but it's always best to let the person know instead of changing it yourself as it prevents edit warring and in all fairness to WV there's plenty of people here that stick to TPO which is a great thing,
- Thanks & Happy editing to you both, –Davey2010Talk 01:49, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for the wishes, but it looks like it's me who is going to be leaving for good. It's not worth the drama anymore. My time on Wikipedia has been long but it's time for me to bow out. TL565 (talk) 03:13, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
- TL565 - Could I make a suggestion ? .... You both stay away from each other and just enjoy the site and focus on editing ? ..... Having been here for 3 years the site certainly has its downs and at times you feel like smashing your face repeatedly against a brick wall .... but the site also has its ups and you can make alot of great friends here... Despite me at times being a grumpy bugger I've made tons of friends here and I wouldn't change it for the world, Is it really worth leaving over this drama ? ....No course it's not, The site can be draining but it can also be amazing, Clearly you both don't get on so try to work together and try to get along or go your seperate ways and enjoy editing solo, Anyone would think I'm a counsellor right now . –Davey2010Talk 04:01, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
- TL565: One wonderful thing about Wikipedia is its expansiveness. There are plenty of neglected, uncontroversial articles and topics—and not just niche ones with little source coverage and few readers but important areas where good editing can make a real difference, many where you can do pretty much anything you want without being bothered. Instead of leaving for good, why not clear your watchlist, at least pare out everything that's conflict-prone, and find a new domain? Just a thought! Rebbing 04:37, 11 September 2016 (UTC)

School merges
Hi Davey - The {{merge-school}} template is quite specific that the discussion should take place at the destination if specified. Which is why I started it a Brentwood, Essex/ There's even a clickable link on it to take you there. CalzGuy (talk) 14:10, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hi CalzGuy, Think I've gone blind but where's it say that ?, As far as I know all discussions should take place on the article that's being merged otherwise no one will ever know it's planning to be merged?,
- Also I've only just realized you'd included a link to the discussion when you put the template up ... something I missed entirely so apologies for that,
- Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 14:22, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
- The link is built into the template. If you add a destination in the pipe, e.g. {{merge-school}} it automatically creates both the Article link and the talkpage link within the template text. If you don't put in any suggested destination. It defaults back to the Article talkpage (I think). I always use a piped destination. CalzGuy (talk) 14:36, 14 September 2016 (UTC)

Hey, no harm no foul on the franchise nom. I was originally 50/50 when I started typing but then kept finding more to where the term could probably apply here. I figure that when in doubt, it's always good to give it a try when it comes to AfD. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 01:34, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Tokyogirl79, I've always associated "franchise" with films, It never really occurred that it could apply to these aswell, Exactly I mean I can always withdraw like I did today, I suppose it's better to be safe than sorry, Anyway thanks for commenting on it :), Have a great day, –Davey2010Talk 02:32, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
- I have to admit that what little I know about it is typically associated with films, but I suppose it can qualify for that sort of stuff. I'm not as savvy with franchise type material as I am with other stuff. I figure that it could probably be renamed to something else if there's any doubt. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 02:33, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
- Same here I'm useless when it comes to that sort of stuff, Anyway thanks, –Davey2010Talk 02:37, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
Hi Davey2010, I just wanted to ask if you would like to reconsider your argument there as you've commented that AfD before another user aded the Hall of Fame induction. I hope, nobody will clame canvassing now, as I don't know how you might decide and just in general wanted to let you know that the Hall of Fame induction and your argument "fails PORN BIO" don't fit together anymore. Regards. --SamWinchester000 (talk) 03:20, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hi SamWinchester000, Thanks for the heads up, I've changed to redirect ... and kinda went off in to a world of my own lol, Anyway thanks. –Davey2010Talk 03:42, 18 September 2016 (UTC)
Canadian dates
Just for a bit of extra context, the issue is that the Canadian editor contingent has never been able to establish a clear consensus for either DMY or MDY — the debates have always bogged down in individual editors' personal preferences for one form or the other rather than any strong evidence that either form is considered standard in Canadian English per se. So our rule for Canada is simply to maintain whichever format the article started with; other than correcting inconsistencies, we don't impose DMY on an article that was started MDY, or vice versa, so that the date formatting doesn't turn into an unproductive edit war about personal preferences. Just wanted to clarify a bit. Bearcat (talk) 16:05, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Bearcat, I'm so sorry!, Usually I check Date formats by country before doing any article so I'm not sure why I'd done this article, As you say they use both so it shouldn't of been done, I know there's always issues with DMY v MDY with those that use both so If one article uses both than I leave the article well alone, But anyway thanks for explaining and thanks spotting the error and basically reverting :), Cheers, –Davey2010Talk 16:11, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

I understand you didn't know about Checker. I have left a very distressed note about your (a new discovery for me) bulk uploads on your Commons talk page. Please would you tell me why you make these bulk uploads - so i can tell you why I am so bulk-upload averse. Thanks, Eddaido (talk) 01:59, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

Personal attacks
Since I replied to you on my page and I didn't hear back, I thought I'd stop by and visit. It was interesting how you mentioned "working together" on your last comment and I'd like to ask you how you plan to lead by example on this important principle since I don't find this comment conducive at all to our camaraderie as a team nor our nascent friendship. In fact, another editor agreed that it was uncalled for, provocative and saw why someone could respond like I did, even if it wasn't within Wikipedia rules. In the future, it might be useful to consider how your actions could influence those of others.--Guiletheme (talk) 12:42, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion
The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
Hi Davey2010, regarding the speedy deletion tag you put on the Streetrunner article I created yesterday, you cited CSD:G4. However, the article I created is not a copy of the one that was previously deleted; it is a new article. I felt the main reason the article was deleted the first time around was because it was poorly written and formatted, not because Streetrunner lacks notability. I believe his notability is demonstrated in the article I created. He is also mentioned on 80 different Wikipedia pages, which I know doesn't confer notability, but at least it means he's a prolific producer. Would you be willing to take another look at the article and consider removing the speedy deletion tag? Thank you.--Bernie44 (talk) 01:16, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Bernie44, Done ... Although I'm surprised the CSD wasn't removed sooner, I ended up forgetting to check back so thanks for the reminder and thank you for not removing it either :),
- You may want to replace cites like LilWayneHQ, HipHopDX and Stacksmag as they're not reliable sources, Other than that the sources look great :),
- Thanks again for the poke!, Happy editing, –Davey2010Talk 01:25, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, I appreciate it. And I agree about LilWayneHQ and Stacks, I'll look for replacements for those. But I think HipHopDX is reliable, it's one of the main hip hop sites around.--Bernie44 (talk) 01:35, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
- It's not substantially different aside from the discography formatting, so I've retagged it. I think we need to consider that this is paid editing from the subject as well; this time it's just not his manager/agent doing it, and frankly, I want to know why this guy thinks he needs a Wikipedia page so bad, as we aren't an advertising platform. We're not going to keep COI material just because the guy who wanted it paid a third party to do it. MSJapan (talk) 01:48, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hi MSJapan, I cant really remember what It looked like ... I'm just taking the blokes word for it, I had taken the bloke to AIV but was told it's all fine at the moment and that as much as COI is frowned upon there's really nothing anyone can do but anyways thanks for retagging it. –Davey2010Talk 02:15, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
- MSJapan, is it possible for you to share the text of the previous Wikipedia article on Streetrunner so we can compare and see if the one I created is substantially different? Thanks.--Bernie44 (talk) 06:11, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
- You're making a lot of assumptions here. The reason I doubt the article I created is substantially the same is because I created it from scratch, based on what I found on Google. As to whether or not people know who he is, people do know who he is. He's mentioned on 80 different Wikipedia pages. I'm not sure if you listen to hip hop but he has produced tracks for some of the top rappers around. It makes total sense for him to have a Wikipedia page. There's no need to embellish his accomplishments. Anyhow, obviously we don't see this the same way, and there is now a deletion discussion going so it can get settled over there.--Bernie44 (talk) 13:35, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Tagging 25th Anniversary Collection by The Monkees as a re-direct
Thank you so much for changing the article to a re-direct. I feel that it was a far more appropriate solution than having the page deleted. That way the article can still have recognition without having to have it's own article page. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 23:43, 29 September 2016 (UTC)

This arbitration case has been closed and the final decision is available at the link above. The following remedies have been enacted:
- Michael Hardy is reminded that:
- Administrators are expected to set an example with their behavior, including refraining from incivility and responding patiently to good-faith concerns about their conduct, even when those concerns are expressed suboptimally.
- All administrators are expected to keep their knowledge of core policies reasonably up to date.
- Further misconduct using the administrative tools will result in sanctions.
- MjolnirPants is reminded to use tactics that are consistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines, and the 4th Pillar when dealing with other users they are in dispute with.
- The Arbitration Committee is reminded to carefully consider the appropriate scope of future case requests. The committee should limit "scope creep" and focus on specific items that are within the scope of the duties and responsibilities outlined in Arbitration Policy.

Ice cream van
I've reverted your revert. As I state in my revert, the swedish truck aint have neither the glass windows used to serve the customers neither the ice cream list or menu with the flavours or types. Moreover, the lateral doors are the ones used on refrigerated food trucks. Regards.--HCPUNXKID 22:34, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hi HCPUNXKID, Yeah apologies for the revert, I assumed they actually served the ice cream through the tiddly doors but clearly not , Having looked on YouTube it seems they are indeed refrigerator trucks so thanks for the revert :), Happy editing, –Davey2010Talk 22:49, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

WikiProject Eurovision: Important Announcement
WikiProject Eurovision Important Announcement
Dear Project Member Following a project community discussion, which was raised over the use of English translation columns on annual contest articles, and advice from the lead coordinator of The Guild of Copy Editors, who are extremely knowledgeable in regards to all editing practises and manual of style policies. A consensus decision has been reached to fully remove ALL English translations, as such content falls under the prohibition on original research, even if it seems helpful to the reader. This is because we have now to assume that every reader has access to automated translation tools that can always give them a sense of the meaning of the title in their native language; it is not Wikipedia's job to provide those tools for the reader. Which therefore means we are no longer to include an English translation column, nor are we to provide translation by any other means on contest articles. Such information is currently in the process of being removed, and a new table formatting and layout style is being rolled out across all articles. Please view the new guidance on table layout at Wikipedia:WikiProject Eurovision/Format and Guides#Article layout. An example of the new table layout style can also be access via the collapsed section within this message. Thank you.

Sandobx
Hi, I noticed that you have started a discussion about a legal threat made by me Luke de paul, I just want to say that I didn't want to make harm to anyone, just as you said I was just very frustrated, now I put back my sandbox again, and I also put a template saying that it is a user page and I have also deleted all logos so that I would not violate any copyright. I just wanted to tell you my point of view about this situation.Best regardsRoger Delacroix (talk) 17:08, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
- No worries, You need to stop adding the navboxes ..... The whole point to a sandbox is to store articles that you're working on ..... It's a page where you can store tons of navboxes all for the sake of it. Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 17:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
Hey, hang on a minute, first you say that I can store all of the navboxes that i want on my sandbox and then you ask to be deleted again, why are you doing this to me??Roger Delacroix (talk) 17:30, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

- Thanks for having sent me that message, I have learned a great lesson, I will never do it again, but now can you please unblock my sandbox?Roger Delacroix (talk) 13:52, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hi, Sorry I never saw your message, I don't recall saying anything about storing navboxes in sandboxes, Nope sorry it'll have to remain salted permanently but you've still got User:Luke de paul/sandbox3 so no need for 2 sandboxes, Just a kindly suggestion but might I suggest that you stop working on sandboxes and instead work on improving articles?, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 14:22, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for having answered me, you have said that I still have got User:Luke de paul/sandbox3 but it's going to be deleted, I have contested the deletion saying that I have learned my lesson, and I would never do that again, can you please help me stopping the deletion of my new sandbox? Kind regardsRoger Delacroix (talk) 15:02, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Invitation to the African Destubathon
Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
MediaWiki issue
See this discussion - basically I don't have any way to weed anything out when I send the message. I'm really not impressed - there ought to be some way for me to pick and choose who within a group gets the message. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 23:43, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Ser Amantio di Nicolao, Ah I remember seeing that post, So basically there's no way you can manually remove them at all? .... I've not seen the interface or anything but I just assumed you could remove them manually and that was it.....,
- I'm not blaming you but it now means alot of talkpages have needlessly been created for nothing ...
- I apologize for having a go on your talkpage - As I said I just assume you copied everything in the category, Pasted it and hit send or whatever but I guess not,
- Anyway thanks for replying. –Davey2010Talk 23:56, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
- I wish - I had done it that way once before, using AWB. Personally, I think that's the way to go. And if there's not a way to manually work out the category then that's what I shall do in the future.
- Sorry for the trouble. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:08, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Please ignore my revert!
Davey2010, please ignore my revert at Shenae Grimes! I thought a date format had been established for refs at the article, but looking back at the 2011 version of that article, it looks like you made to correct call. Apologies! --IJBall (contribs • talk) 02:21, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
- IJBall - I have some good news ... I never got the notification lol, I had no idea you had even reverted, I changed them based on the infobox being set up as DMY but I usually go by what's used the most in the article - Ofcourse not all editors agree so If I'm reverted then I'm reverted - Not worth warring over but anyway thanks for shooting yourself in the foot lol –Davey2010Talk 02:26, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
- Your approach is sound for most articles' reference pub. dates, but doesn't always work for ref accessdates, which are often in ISO format. In general, when I find a whole hodgepodge of reference date formats at an article, I go back in the article's revision history, and try to find the format of the first "properly formatted" reference, and standardize to that that, according to MOS:DATERET. In the case of Shenae Grimes, it looks like most of the refs in the 2011 version used 'mdy dates' for everything – so your MOS:DATEUNIFY'ing to that dateformat was the correct call. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 02:32, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
- ah right thanks, Strangely I've never thought of doing it that way, Perhaps I should, Anyway thanks for the message, Have a great day :), –Davey2010Talk 02:38, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Please comment on Talk:Elvis Presley
The feedback request service is asking for participation in this request for comment on Talk:Elvis Presley. Legobot (talk) 04:23, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
This clearly needed to be closed by an experienced admin considering not only was there a new Delete vote, but there had been extensive comments about those sources listed, therefore simply counting the votes or whatever is not how a challenging AfD should be closed. SwisterTwister talk 03:36, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- SwisterTwister - If you disagree with my closure then how about you ask politely instead of coming over here like a 5 year old throwing a tantrum. –Davey2010Talk 03:54, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- Moans aside IMHO consensus for the most part was to keep that article however if you disagree then I'd be more than happy to reverse my closure. –Davey2010Talk 03:55, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, reopening it would be the best so an experienced admin can close it, or else I can start a DRV. SwisterTwister talk 04:00, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- SwisterTwister - Done, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 04:08, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
I am not going to revert your closure, but I just wanted to note that these discussions are a lot more controversial than they may seem, and that "Please be bold and merge these yourself, They don't need a discussion" is not as good advice as it may seem; though it may seem surprising, people will happily edit war and wikilawyer to keep articles of this sort from being merged. Josh Milburn (talk) 14:30, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hi J Milburn, I had told the user to ignore my comments as I realized some were keeps and merges (I had no idea what AFD I had made the comments on so figured I'd leave a message), However they've conveniently decided to ignore the talkpage message and have started to merge these themselves, Also as you've said "I am not going to revert your closure" - Are you also objecting to the closure or just the comments made?, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 14:36, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- I object to the comments made, the fact the discussion was closed early, and the fact that you closed it as a non-admin. I don't particularly object to the decision made (which is why I'm not reverting). I see that you're closing a lot of these D&D AfDs. I'm not convinced that these are ripe for non-admin closure; they are generally fairly controversial (even if they don't look it; there's a lot of history, here) and the stated views are fairly mixed, with an assortment of keeps, merges, deletes and redirects, and sometimes an open question about the target of the merge. The last one you closed, for example, was Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Goristro. You closed it as a merge; perhaps merge was the right call, perhaps redirect was. But when there's any doubt, surely the closure is better left for an administrator; part of the point of RfA is that it demonstrates that there is community trust in people to make judgement calls in this kind of situation. Maybe if you're keen that you should be making these kinds of closures, you should go through the RfA procedure yourself. More generally, I see I'm the second person today to raise concerns about your use of non-admin closures; perhaps holding off a little would be wise? Josh Milburn (talk) 14:50, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- Alot of these have been closed by various non admins and most if not all have been closed as Merge, That aside these aren't controversial (If they were I wouldn't be closing them - I've always left the controversial ones alone), I have no interest in becoming an admin but as I said these aren't controversial and these don't need closing by an admin, I'll admit I made the wrong call with the one above however that's one AFD out of what .... 200 closures roughly .... So I'm not doing bad lol, Anyway thanks for your message. –Davey2010Talk 15:01, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- I am not really concerned with how many discussions are closed by non-admins; you need to take ownership of your own actions. I disagree strongly with your claim that you have avoided controversial closures. By my count, you have closed 10 debates today (!!), which, to reiterate a point from above, is an awful lot for someone who is not an administrator and has no desire to be one. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Goristro and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Zerthimon (the latter of which you've now reopened, with a slightly surprising claim- you knew you were closing it early, so you surely didn't misread the opening date for the second, or else you would not believe that you were closing it early...) as I've explained, were not uncontroversial. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/OurCrowd, as explained above and as you admitted, was controversial. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Myhriss could have been clearer; I wouldn't have been surprised if it was relisted. So I count at least 3/10 inappropriate closures, and, judging from your choice to self-revert after being confronted, you count at least 2/10. Again, I implore you to rethink your approach, here. Josh Milburn (talk) 17:03, 9 October 2016 (UTC)
- I am taking ownership of my actions and I have already stated consensus on most were to Merge and apart from those 2 closures the rest were fine, There's not a limit on how many AFDs can be closed either - As i said tho the uncontroversial ones I'll close and the controversial ones gets left well alone and so far these have all been uncontroversial and none require any admin closures, And ofcourse if anyone disagrees with a closure I'm always happy to revert and reopen - we're all human and we all make mistakes but ofcourse all that being said I take all criticism on board but as I said we all make mistakes from time to time but anyways thanks again for your comments. Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 17:30, 9 October 2016 (UTC)

You should self-revert there, since Eichenwalde's edit wasn't vandalism or any of the other exemptions on reversion. There are plenty of eyes on that article in any case, other editors may weigh in as needed. Such is the problem of 1RR. Acroterion (talk) 16:07, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Acroterion, If someone is blocked for edit warring and fails to discuss it shouldn't that edit be reverted until they get consensus ?, Ofcourse I'll happily self reevrt but it was my understanding that they should discuss it first ? ...., Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 16:11, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
- If you haven't exceeded the revert limit that's fine, but under 1RR, short of vandalism, no. It just makes it harder to settle things down. In general you should avoid giving blocked edit-warriors a chance to demand retribution. Acroterion (talk) 16:13, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
- Ah right in that case Acroterion I sincerely apologize, This whole 1RR thing is new to me so I'm honestly only trying to do what I think's best but ofcourse I apologize, Ah yeah I didn't think of it like that, Okie dokie thanks for your message and for your help - It's extremely appreciated. –Davey2010Talk 16:19, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
- It gives everyone trouble from time to time, which is why I always ask for self-reverts in such situations. Acroterion (talk) 16:29, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
- It's a shame the other didn't self revert as it could've saved all this but ah well, Thanks again for your help and your patience too :), Happy editing, –Davey2010Talk 16:37, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
- There are a couple of WP:BEANS issues associated with 1RR that make it less than ideal as a remedy and easy to game: this is such a case. However, it also lends itself to draconian remedies if the disruptive behavior persists, and WP:WRONGVERSION* applies here for the time being (* note to other readers: WRONGVERSION is a humorous essay that describes everyone's frustration with edit wars). Hi It's me Luke de paul I have to tell you that the person who kept modifying my sandbox was me, I simply forgot, to log in. I'm sorry if I continued recreating that Sandbox I wll try to avoid doing it again. I'm sorryRoger Delacroix (talk) 14:16, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but that's utter bollocks you don't just forget to log in on like 20-30 edits ...., I'm not sure whether you're trying to avoid scrutiny or are simply clueless but if it's the latter I would advise you stick to editing with your user account otherwise again you could be blocked,
- You may want to read WP:SOCK,
- Thanks. –Davey2010Talk 14:31, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

Polar bears
It was a silly joke. For the first time in over 22 years a polar bear was spotted within 2 km (1.2 mi) of town. We have the odd grizzly but usually further out. I got tired to writing "Closed delete" so I used the polar bear thing. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 22:53, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
- I liked the joke. I saw an allusion to things being lost out in the cold. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 23:25, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
- CambridgeBayWeather Oh wow I love polar bears!, Think I'll relocate next year lol, I thought it was a joke (and like Joe here I too loved it) but I've seen more than one admin paste something accidentally in edit summaries so didn't actually realize it was a joke ... then I went through your contribs and realized I am indeed an idiot . –Davey2010Talk 23:48, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

Hello there! I've received a notification on Wikipedia that you had sent me an email, but I got nothing in my mailbox :-( Rehman 07:31, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Rehman, If you have a Yahoo email then Yahoo seems to think Wikipedia is spam and they don't get sent, There's been a few discussions at wp:vp/t about it, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 09:44, 22 October 2016 (UTC)

- Rehman, Thanks :), Well the copy hasn't been sent to me either ... surprise surprise!,
- Basically to cut it short I said something along the lines of "It's your sig and basically if you're happy with it keep it, Plenty of admins have sigs like yours and no one's ever cared so if you like it keep it - Ignore what everyone else thinks",
- My aim was to keep it private but hey blame the shithole that is the MediaWiki lol,
- Anyway thanks and happy editing. –Davey2010Talk 16:24, 22 October 2016 (UTC)

- Inre Jäger: It's produced in Germany, so it's probably cheaper there, right? It's worth a try for sure, as is waffles with butter and real maple syrup... North America1000 16:12, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
- I'd imagine it's slightly cheaper but probably not that much cheaper, Oh damn I'd forgot all about the waffles, I'll have to pick them up next year!!! :) –Davey2010Talk 16:25, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

- At least just get pure maple syrup...best stuff ever. Takes at least 25 gallons of maple sap boiled down to make 1 gallon of maple syrup. It works on just about anything breakfast-related: pancakes, biscuits, waffles, scones, buttered bread, bacon, ham, etc. Particularly decadent on bacon. North America1000 16:42, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

- Davey2010 I'm still there now lol. Its enjoyable if you haven't been there before (but I've been about 10 times, as my dad's family is out here), but there are a lot of shabby buildings, quite a bit of poverty and the driving is erratic! Had two near misses today! The buses are over 40 years old here anyway. Oh, and not to mention every single time you're on the road, there is ALWAYS cars blowing their horns, even at night, which pisses me off so much! They've tried to reduce the amount of honking around Mumbai, and sometimes when I am there, there are signs saying "NO HONKING" but drivers still do it, and the terrible driving doesnt help! Class455 (talk) 17:25, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hahaha oh right I thought you were home lol, It's the same with London - Tends to get boring if you're constantly seen it, Good god erratic being the understatement lol, Haha that would drive me absolutely mental lol, Perhaps they should make it law to have all horns removed lol, It's amazing how everything is so different in different countries, Anyway enjoy Mumbai :), –Davey2010Talk 17:44, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

Please don't get involved with my personal affairs
Hi Davey, just a little polite notice, unless you know the full context of what has happened, can I ask you not to get involved. Thanks ;) Nordic Nightfury 15:01, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
- Nordic Nightfury - There is no context here ... Fact of the matter is you relisted AFDs, people disagreed and asked you to kindly revert ... and yet instead of reverting you told them to do it themselves and or removed the discussion entirely ....... That's not helpful at all and this being a collaborative project you should've just relisted it which would've saved you all this shit,
- My advice was spot on and it's a shame you didn't heed it and let everything drop. –Davey2010Talk 15:27, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
On Closing AfD
As I understand you work on neutrality of discussions. Sometimes it appears to me Lengthy discussions or unnecessary commenting makes AfD large and even boring to read. So people might just want to Close as "No consensus" without even going through the depth of discussions presented by contributors for Delete. Or there are Counting mechanism also works, where in such Cases Keep votes comes as Passes GNC or some guidelines without counter the Delete argument or presenting substantial point of view. It does not really count as Vote. Even noted in Wikipedia as well. But I have hardly seen a case where article is deleted where vote count is lesser. so Keep numbers of Vote or Length of boring article discussions wins as "Keep" or "close by No consensus". Any suggestions on how we can improve this matter? Light2021 (talk) 12:17, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hi, Sorry does this refer to AN AFD I've closed?, All of my closures are based on the arguments, Thanks. –Davey2010Talk 12:24, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
Clarification
Just to be clear, I wasn't accusing you of falling into systemic bias, just explaining what I was doing looking at an AfD on a topic I know little about. --Andreas Philopater (talk) 13:19, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
- Andreas Philopater - Ah right sorry, I've been accused of it more than once so kinda assumed the case here sorry, Anyway thanks for your message and again thanks for managing to find some sources - much appreciated :), Happy editing .–Davey2010Talk 13:41, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
Someone opened an AfD right after you closed it. Any chance to get involved here? I've not encountered something where an editor keeps trying AfD until his/her position is won. Thank you. Not nice. Veggies 2 (talk) 21:10, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
- Veggies 2 - Ah thanks for notifying me, I've speedy closed the nomination as it's obviously disruptive to just renominate and renominate, Thanks for letting me know :), Cheers, –Davey2010Talk 21:25, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
- First thing First I have nominated that once not as I am being accused of. And given a warning for being blocked by Davey on my talk page. that being right after I question the methodology used for "closing an AfD" by Davey. Are you angry ? Light2021 (talk) 21:39, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
- I apologize because I did assume you were the 2nd nom however my point still stands - You don't renominate after it's been closed, Your post above didn't make the blindest bit of sense and I asked you did it refer to an AFD, I close alot each day so therefore I can't recall every single name in an AFD. –Davey2010Talk 21:44, 26 October 2016 (UTC)

More Radio Group
Hi! You just mass-reverted my redirections of various defunct station names to point at the articles for their new names. In doing so, you created over half a dozen double redirects.
I'm sure this was an accident, and you'll be correcting the error shortly. But if not, I'd be grateful for a discussion here about how you're using rollback on good-faith, useful edits and treating me like a common vandal, coz that's not good, obviously! :-) ◦ Trey Maturin 17:58, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Trey Maturin, I apologize for using rollback - I was meant to have used AGF Twinkle but ended up somehow hovering over the wrong ones (I use Linkclump because I'm a lazy shit!), Anyway I hadn't realized everything would be double-redirected but anyway I'll revert myself :), Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 18:08, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
- No worries! :-) We've all done it at some point! ◦ Trey Maturin 18:11, 29 October 2016 (UTC)

Reduction of content
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you purposefully and blatantly harass a fellow Wikipedian. Mvpo666 (talk) 18:48, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- Yes because me reverting you on one article now constitutes harassment, How stupid of me, As I've told you you either get consensus for your changes or they'll be reverted. –Davey2010Talk 18:50, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- My mistake, I accidentally copied the wrong template (Surprisingly I didn't even notice it when I gave the heading the relevant title)... It was meant to be this one:
- Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you.
- Anyway, I've now taken this issue back to the talk page. Mvpo666 (talk) 19:05, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
- Install Twinkle - it'll solve all your worries :), Anyway I';ve self reverted. –Davey2010Talk 19:15, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

IsAnybodyDown? closure
Davey: I see that you closed the AFD for IsAnybodyDown? as a speedy keep. I'm not saying that wasn't the right result, but you stated that it was because the user who called the AFD was "blocked indef". Checking the block log for AManInWikipedia (talk · contribs), I only find a 31 hour block, which is def rather than indef. If the length of blockage was key to your action, please review it (or let me know how I'm misunderstanding things, I don't deal much with people's block histories.) --Nat Gertler (talk) 00:01, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
- Hi NatGertler, Thank you so much for spotting that, I somehow misread their block length, As I was incorrect I've obviously self reverted, It's a good job someone on here's awake lol, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 00:07, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

Please revert your speedy close on dealdash. A good deal of what you have to say about the problem with the nominator is correct, but this close was not a good idea. Looking at your rationale, in my opinion at least, any violation of WP: NOT is a good reason for deletion, including NOT ADVERTISING. Some people think all promotional articles an be fixed, but this is disputed and is therefore not a basis for a speedy. DGG ( talk ) 01:03, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
- DGG - You're absolutely correct anything promotional can be taken to AFD however this editor hasn't followed BEFORE and plus they've caused a hell of a lot of disruption at AFD, Had you not been an admin I would've redirected you to DRV but seeing as you are an admin I don't really have a choice but to revert do I ? .... I disagree with it entirely but that's life I suppose, Anyway thanks for kindly coming here first - Always appreciated, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 01:49, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
- Done - reopened, Thanks again and happy editing. –Davey2010Talk 01:58, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
- You'll notice I did not ask for the close on Actiflo to be reverted, because the company is large enough that the article is probably worth fixing. Otherwise I would have. I've always tried to work here by avoid direct confrontation and being a little selective about what I fight for. DGG ( talk ) 02:57, 2 November 2016 (UTC)
- In all fairness I think the dealsdash article is large enough and is wort fixing but anyway all's been reopened so no harm done :), Happy editing. –Davey2010Talk 03:31, 2 November 2016 (UTC)

The wheels on the bus go round and round
The Wheels on the Bus go round and round. Wow, I thought you liked bus articles. Per this, can we call you "Deletion Davey" now? Hope all's well for you across the pond in the UK. Speaking of the UK, why do you guys spell everything incorrectly? For example, it's "colored", not "coloured", "favor", not "favour", etc., eh? Right? What's up with all of those unnecessary "u"s? See also WP:AVOID "U". Ha ha, just kidding. Just making conversation for the fun of it. I look forward to your likely sarcastic response. Cheers, North America1000 13:41, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
- Haha I've been asked about this before - I like buses but not bus routes, Ironically back in 2013 I was frequently updating everything at List of bus routes in Kent until it was deleted .... and I was the nominator ,
- Shut up why don't you add the bloody u's ? - Get with the times man , .... I've just written a full rant and now I've had to delete it , I've often wondered what language was actually correct to begin with like before all of this British English/American English came about,
- Haha I've been called worse but I kinda like "Deletion Dave" .. It's got a ring to it lol,
- Yeah It's all good here thanks, Hope all is well across the pacific ocean lol, –Davey2010Talk 14:10, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

- Oh sorry I hadn't realized you made it - That's an epic unicorn :), –Davey2010Talk 14:41, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
- I didn't create the original. I copied the image from File:URI Unicórnio Rosa Invisivel.jpg and worked it into an ani gif from there. But, yeah, I did make the ani gif. It's so much easier to copy other people's work and then just modify it a bit. Uh, you're welcome. North America1000 14:44, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
- True true haha, Anyway thanks for popping by, Happy editing. –Davey2010Talk 15:08, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

As a side note, did you mean to remove routes 2 & 3 from that AfD too? You seem to have done! (Don't want to fix it myself in case that was your intention) Jeni (talk) 16:26, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Jeni, 2&3 is the title of the AFD so that shouldn't of been included, Hopefully I've fixed everything - I've gone through them all again and only 11 was the error, Thanks again for your help! :), –Davey2010Talk 16:29, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite
Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 03:05, 6 November 2016 (UTC)

2011 Leinster Senior Cup Final
Why did you redirect it to the main article instead of 2011 Leinster Senior Cup seeing as the latter AfD was closed as keep? That would make much more sense. Smartyllama (talk) 00:24, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- You stated "edit to add: To the relevant Cup article if that is kept or) to Leinster Senior Cup (association football)" - I wasn't going around searching for this other AFD and as I have never heard of the title in my life I simply assumed that was your redirect target, If no one (inc yourself) can be bothered to provide a redirect target then that's really not my problem - I don't go around searching article after article trying to find a redirect target, Anyway as you've provided it here I'll change it, Thanks. –Davey2010Talk 01:07, 8 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi Dave, If you have time would you drop by AFD Mixpanel2. You closed the previous Afd on this article on 27 September 2016. AFD Mixpanel The consensus was a strong keep and the article has had improvements since then. Regards, CBS527Talk 15:38, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Cbs527, Ah thanks for notifying me - I've reclosed as Speedy Keep pointing the nom to DRV, In all fairness to the nom they probably had no idea that the article was ever taken to AFD however once they saw the first AFD they should've looked at it and then closed it themselves or requested closure, Anyway I've reclosed it :), Thanks again, Happy editing. –Davey2010Talk 16:28, 8 November 2016 (UTC)

New deal for page patrollers
Hi Davey2010,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

Incorrect redirect on Inuko Inuyama article
Inuko Inuyama should be redirected to the Meowth page (as that is her only notable role), not Mike Pollock. --Sk8erPrince (talk) 02:37, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
- Sk8erPrince - Sorry I clearly wasn't paying much attention when closing
but as no one bothered to state a redirect target it probably would've been redirected there anyway - I don't go around searching articles on where to redirect things - That's the !voters jobs,Anyway I've amended it on the AFD however AngusWOOF has amended everything else, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 11:20, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

First West of England
If you had waiting for longer than 4 mins you would of realised why I had moved the article. Over the coming months First Bristol is being merged legally into First Somerset & Avon to create First West of England Limited. The first part of the change has already happened. Firstly This First Bristol depots been added to the First Somerset & Avon License, ready for the move. also this saying they are expected to merge. And a number of drivers confirming it. Mark999 (talk) 23:40, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
- "Managing Director of both companies, James Freeman, said that an application was to be submitted to merge the two licences" Mark999 (talk) 23:43, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
- Well the first link confirms it and so does their fb/twitter accounts so I apologise for reverting you, I've moved them back now :), Thanks. –Davey2010Talk 01:21, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

Yet another inapprotiate NAC close since none of the Keep votes cited actual policy yet I had explicitly, 2 of them, thus this needed relisting or at least an experienced admin closure, not simply a hasty close. SwisterTwister talk 02:01, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
- "Since none of the Keep votes cited actual policy" - CORDEPTH aswell as GNG was cited ...and consensus was that the article met both of those so nope there's nothing inappropriate about it, It's not my problem if consensus didn't go your way - Instead of moaning over everyones closures you may want to accept the consensus and move on editing other articles etc etc. –Davey2010Talk 02:11, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
- I kind of agree with SwisterTwister in the sense that if an AFD has at least one delete vote, it's better to let an administrator close it. I personally abstained from closing that AFD now that I'm no longer an admin and I think it's good advice to excercise similar judgment for future occasions. → Call me Razr Nation 12:47, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
- I've closed many AFDs like this before and all have been fine, ST simply has a petty little grudge against me because I wanted him banned a few months ago, Anyway If us NAC'ers were to leave those that have one delete then none of these would ever be closed, Thanks for your comment tho, Happy editing. –Davey2010Talk 12:52, 28 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I have plans to keep sourcing on Forestway Shopping Centre only one source is found, but it is still being nominated for deletion. Anyways thanks for being on my side. Thanks - BugMenn (talk) 20:36, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
- No worries, But I would strongly suggest you source that as best you can otherwise as I said on your talkpge it will no doubt be renominated and in which case I may go with delete, Anyway thanks .–Davey2010Talk 12:54, 28 November 2016 (UTC)

what is valid criteria for removing a non-notable wiki page
Hi Davey, you just "speedy kept" a page nominated for deletion on the basis of "no notability". I see in other comments you say this is not a good enough reason to remove a page, why is that the case? Thanks! Horsewhipser (talk) 22:49, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- Davey, your speedy keep is not valid. Please revert your closure. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:21, 30 November 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Horsewhipser (& Bbb23), My basis for the speedy keep was that A)Your first edit was to simply nominate this article for deletion (which made me believe you're only here to see that article deleted) and B) Your arguement was more or less "WP:ITSNOTNOTABLE" - Rationale's like this do see AFDs Speedy Kept however looking back I was probably a bit to hasty here - Had Bbb23 not shown I would've asked for a better rationale which I would've added but as an admin's asked me to reopen now I don't really have a choice so I've reopened and relisted for you, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 00:00, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry! I didn't mean to say you were wrong, I created this account as I was unable to submit the page for deletion when logged out. Yes, my argument was that the page was not notable, is there a different criteria for page deletion regarding notability? Horsewhipser (talk) 00:05, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- Ahh right, Generally you should go by a policy for instance WP:BASIC, WP:MODEL, WP:GNG etc etc however you should read those thoroughly before going by them as they may not be applicable, Thanks. –Davey2010Talk 00:13, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

- Davey, I'm glad that Horsewhipser provided additional reasons why they think the article should be deleted, but what they had initially was fine. There is no requirement that a nominator cite to policy. There's effectively no difference between saying "fails WP:GNG" and "is not notable". You should rarely if ever close a discussion as a speedy keep and the fact that the account is new should have no bearing on the viability of an AfD unless the account is proven to be a sock. Thank you for reopening it.--Bbb23 (talk) 03:05, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
- AFDs have in the past been speedy closed by admins due to rationales like the above, You're right they don't but it is generally preferred that they do, But anyway no worries - Glad it was all put right in the end, Thanks. –Davey2010Talk 03:19, 1 December 2016 (UTC)

Re Dr Biju
Hi Davey! Although I understand the result would have been keep, I just wanted to notify you that the consensus was tied between 2 keeps and 2 deletes (not votes, I know). Please consider the consensus clearly next time. Or if this is a mistake, do let me know. Thanks, Jean Stair (talk) 06:13, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Jean Stair, The first delete !vote was when the article wasn't improved/rewritten/sourced, The 2 Keeps after that were when it was improved/rewritten/sourced, and as you never commented on any of those keeps therefore one would assume you either was fine with it or you' forgotten about the AFD,
- "Please consider the consensus clearly next time" - I did consider the consensus and the consensus was a keep. –Davey2010Talk 11:26, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- All valid points, Davey. However, the last keep vote was added today (December 3). One should give at least a day to initiating editors to consider, and not presume things. Thanks, Jean Stair (talk) 13:17, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Jean Stair, Ah I hadn't realised that but looking back at the AFD it wouldn't of been closed any other way, The delete !voter tends to !vote delete on every AFD without paying much attention and his !vote wasn't really all that strong either, But that aside on a technicality your rationale was invalid aswell as articles are never deleted just because they're promotional or because there's a COI editor or because they need a rewrite so although I get where you're coming from this wouldn't of been closed any other way, Anyway thanks for your message, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 13:40, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- I think blatant promotion is a valid rationale for deletion. I understand about COI editing, though. Anyways, even I think keep would have been the final outcome even if we had waited. One question: I get where you're coming from - what does this mean? I'm hoping this was not written in bad faith as a condescending measure, as Wikipedia is already filled with such statements. Thanks, Jean Stair (talk) 14:02, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- It's a valid concern don't get me wrong but it's not really a valid deletion reason if that makes sense, "I get where you're coming from but this wouldn't of been closed any other way (I did miss out the "but" but I was trying to say I understood and could see what you mean inregards to the AFD consensus however it wouldn't of been closed any other way .... Hopefully that makes sense?), Nope I wasn't being condescending at all an d I'm rather surprised you'd even think that ? ... Why would I be condescending I'd have no reason to be ? ... Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 14:12, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
- I see. That makes sense, yes. Sorry for being straightforward but you have wear the skeptical hat when you are on Wikipedia. Nice talking to you, anyway. Do let me know if you need any copyedit/literature/films edit. Thanks, Jean Stair (talk) 18:04, 4 December 2016 (UTC)

Broken links
Hi, your two recent edits ([3] [4]) to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Notmuch both broke internal links to the section heading you removed/modified, by removing the HTML anchor at that section heading. I noted this breakage in my reversion of your first edit, but your second edit was no better. I don't want to get into an edit war, so please can you find a solution that satisfies your needs (whatever they may be), but that does not break those links? Thanks. zazpot (talk) 00:00, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Zazpot, Your header was messing up the entire AFD log hence why I removed it, You could always remove the link and put something along the lines of "See my merge proposal below", I would do it myself however as per WP:TPO I can't really edit your comments, Thanks. –Davey2010Talk 00:05, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- "Your header was messing up the entire AFD log". Please can you show me what you mean by this? It was just an ordinary section heading. That surely shouldn't cause problems. If it did, then I reckon you've noticed a bug that should be reported, not an edit that should be reverted. Ta. zazpot (talk) 00:10, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Zazpot WP:AFD/T is one AFD log although it's not the log that the AFD was on, Nope it's not a bug but anyway you've fixed it so thanks :), Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 00:25, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for alerting me to the issue. It looks like this is the relevant page. It seems the problem was not that there was a section heading - it's actually fine to have those in AfD discussions - but rather that this particular one wasn't deeply nested enough. I have now fixed that, and, as you have seen, everything is now working just fine :) zazpot (talk) 00:34, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

Nantes
Hello Davey2010, I saw that you reverted my edit on Nantes this morning. As this edit took me some hours to make, I would like to know why you did so. I am trying to improve the article by updating it, expanding it and find better sourcing. Best regards, Oie blanche (talk) 11:32, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
- Hi, Not sure why I never provided a summary but I think the main reason for the revert was because you'd removed "{{Expand French|Nantes|fa=yes|date=July 2012}} {{Use dmy dates|date=June 2013}}" from the article - These should never be removed, I'm sure there was another reason but can't think what, Anyway I've reverted, Apologies for the revert, –Davey2010Talk 11:39, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

WarMachineWildThing and I have taken issue with your reversal of the closure. Your edit summaries could be interpreted to be talking down to newer editors, even though the user in question had been here for 9 months and has 3,000 edits. WP:RMNAC is vague as to what they consider an "experienced and uninvolved registered editors" to be, but seems to encourage a disputed closure to go to WP:Move review, which is where you should have probably taken this.LM2000 (talk) 23:11, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
- An established editor or admin (the latter being my preference) should've moved it - Not some unknown newbie (sure he has over 3 thousands edits however he's only been here less than a year so is a newbie in my book), FWIW I have since gone with support however it's better to be closed by an established editor/admin than some unknown newbie. –Davey2010Talk 23:21, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

Milestones
Hey Dave, hope you're doing well. Just wanted to ask, how do you find out your milestones (e.g. your 500th edit, 1000th edit etc) and when you achieved them? I'm thinking about adding some of these for my user page, but I don't exactly know when I passed 1000 edits etc lol. Wondering if you could tell me how. Thanks! Class455 (talk) 15:35, 13 December 2016 (UTC)
- Hi Class455, Yeah not too bad thanks, Hope you're doing well too,
- Ummm when I created it in 2014 I already passed 2k so I believe I ended up going from oldest 500 and then clicking next 500 which would be a thousand and worked it out from there however if you click here you can from 1k each time and everytime you click newer the last entry at the bottom of that page would be the 1k, 2k, 3k etc etc etc (So here your 1k edit would have been "11:03, 7 October 2012 (diff | hist) . . (+297) . . Virgin Atlantic ", 2k edit "22:43, 4 January 2016 (diff | hist) . . (-65) . . User:Jgrantduff (Rm dead image (no file appears to be uploaded for this Image. Revert this if something is on this file (TW))",)
- I usually check my preferences here & there but due to deleted edits it's not going to be bang on,
- Does that make sense ? ..., I'm not the best when it comes to explaining lol,
- Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 16:01, 13 December 2016 (UTC)

I come in peace
I wanted to show this to you before my departure. My last good deed before I go. This user has been disruptivly moving the WWE World Championship article to WWE, Championship & now WWE ChampionshiP. The Article should have been moved to WWE Championship. Please note this user has been here since 2013, I just wanted to show you why your reasoning struck a nerve with me because this user has been here more than a year and has screwed up this move twice in less than an hour. I did not come here for confrontation but to show you my reasons for being so upset about your reasoning the other night. I will be shutting off my notifications tonight and this will be my last post\ edit. I wish you nothing but peace. Chris "WarMachineWildThing" Talk to me 02:50, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
- Hi WarMachineWildThing, Well I've gone to ANI where hopefully it'll be moved back, Admins make mistakes all the the time and him fucking up page moves has nothing do with a newbie closing a heavily-discussed RM, Unfortunately this is something we both won't ever agree on it but I will say this - Leaving over silly little things does you nor this place any favours and with the greatest of respect the closure had absolutely nothing to do with you anyway,
At the end of the day it's your choice, Take care. –Davey2010Talk 03:16, 14 December 2016 (UTC)

So ...
Have you considered running for RfA? Your AfD closes are a strong case for adminship. I've reviewed some of the discussions on your talk page about your closes, and I find even the closes challenged here to be generally sensible and well-defended. I've also observed the elusive trait of being able to own up to the occasional mistake, something that is rare even among existing administrators. ~ Rob13Talk 07:04, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- Hi BU Rob13, I've considered more than once however unfortunately I get annoyed very easily and don't have much patience here and IRL so being honest unfortunately I don't think it'd work, Don't get me wrong I'd love to be an admin however the anger side of it lets me down so but anyway thanks for considering me it means alot :), Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 09:58, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- Unless I've really missed a lot, I don't believe I've ever seen you act unreasonably in response to anger. The closest thing I've seen to something I'd be concerned with was your response to my revert of one of your non-admin closures, which was a bit snappy. An apology was quickly forthcoming, though, and we've continued to work alongside each other productively. A small temper doesn't automatically discount you as a candidate provided you're self-aware, willing to take a step back when needed, and willing to own up to and learn from mistakes if they occur. I'm "guilty" of getting annoyed during discussions at times, and it's the ability to recognize when you need to step back that separates the good from the bad. Basically, tl;dr, I don't think you should count yourself out fully on just the one issue. It's up to you, obviously, but perhaps grabbing some opinions at WP:ORCP wouldn't be the worst idea in the world? ~ Rob13Talk 10:08, 17 December 2016 (UTC)
- This year I've tried being alot more calmer when things happen but I know in the past I've been alot snappier with people and then there's this which would sink my RFA entirely,
- This year especially when in heated discussions I've always left the laptop, Made a cuppa & chilled out which has worked great but there can be times where if I get in a heated discussion I won't step back - I get more agitated and more snappier,
- There are other issues too like being blocked for Edit Warring (I hadn't really understood it at the time) and then being blocked for closing AFDs early (when I promised not too - Again a lack of understanding),
- We'll see I might try ORCP see what editors think but anyway thanks again, –Davey2010Talk 10:49, 17 December 2016 (UTC)

- Hmm. Yeah, unfortunately that link would sink an RfA. You'd need at least 12 months of distance between a successful run and those diffs. It's a pity, because I really do think you'd be a good administrator based on your closes. Either way, I encourage you to keep up with the closes. - I couldn't care less - These should never have been changed in the first place - The article wasn't in MDY in the first place so therefore those policies don't apply, (had they been in MDY from the start then fine I'd have no issues but to randomly convert them all last year is just disruptive on all forms), You should be able to click "new section" right up the top?, Thanks. –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 21:06, 25 December 2016 (UTC)

- No they don't - If an article has been in 2 formats since creation then they shouldn't be changed to just one (unless the article is a British or American subject, Again I explained that directly above, Thanks. –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 22:01, 31 December 2016 (UTC)

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Editor of the Week seeking nominations (and a new facilitator)
The Editor of the Week initiative has been recognizing editors since 2013 for their hard work and dedication. Editing Wikipedia can be disheartening and tedious at times; the weekly Editor of the Week award lets its recipients know that their positive behaviour and collaborative spirit is appreciated. The response from the honorees has been enthusiastic and thankful.
The list of nominees is running short, and so new nominations are needed for consideration. Have you come across someone in your editing circle who deserves a pat on the back for improving article prose regularly, making it easier to understand? Or perhaps someone has stepped in to mediate a contentious dispute, and did an excellent job. Do you know someone who hasn't received many accolades and is deserving of greater renown? Is there an editor who does lots of little tasks well, such as cleaning up citations?
Please help us thank editors who display sustained patterns of excellence, working tirelessly in the background out of the spotlight, by submitting your nomination for Editor of the Week today!
In addition, the WikiProject is seeking a new facilitator/coordinator to handle the logistics of the award. Please contact L235 if you are interested in helping with the logistics of running the award in any capacity. Remove your name from here to unsubscribe from further EotW-related messages. Hi thank you for closing an AfD. PLease be sure to add the correct template when creating a redirect. In the above case, the template to use is {{R from school}}. For more redirect templates see Category:Redirect. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:24, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
- Hi, I mean no disrespect but I simply close AFDS - I don't change the actual articles manually nor do I merge anything (if it's closed as merge), Ofcourse if you see articles redirected or merged then by all means add it yourself, Thanks. –Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 19:38, 31 December 2016 (UTC)
