Tip of the day...

Linking to non-Wikimedia wikis

You know normal links‍—‌they look [[like this]]. But did you know that you can use normal links to pages on any other wiki? This is called InterWiki linking, and applies to all wikis, not just Wikipedia's sister projects. You can link to a page on MeatballWiki by typing [[MeatBall:PageName]], for example. See Interwiki map.

However, links to Wikipedias in other languages are done a little differently. You can link to these by typing, for example, [[:de:Hauptseite]] (replace "de" with language prefix). The colon at the beginning prevents the link from becoming an interlanguage link, which shows up in the left sidebar.

To hide the prefix from the link, use the pipe trick.

Bonus tip: the same basic syntax works in the search box. ( Try typing in Meatball: )

Project News Royal Rumble has been elevated to Featured list status. Its nomination page can be viewed here. WrestleMania III has been elevated to Good article status. New Year's Revolution (2007) is currently a Featured article candidate. Its nomination page can be found here. 2007 WWE Draft is currently a Featured list candidate. Its nomination page can be found here. Briscoe Brothers, King of the Ring (1994) and No Way Out (2004) are currently Good article candidates. The focus on improving Stub-class articles is continuing to pay off, as the number of stubs has reduced from 732 to 717 over the past week. To see a list of important stubs that need some work, or to suggest a stub that you think should be improved, check out stub article subpage. Current Events As of January 2, SmackDown! Superstar Drew McIntyre has been drafted to the Raw brand. As of January 4, Raw Assistant General Manager, Jonathan Coachman has been drafted to the Smackdown! brand to replace JBL as color commentator. On January 12, World Wrestling Entertainment, in conjunction with Bakus International, will begin airing WWE Programming on Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão (SBT) in Brazil. Collaboration of the Week The Pro Wrestling Collaboration of the Week for January 6 through January 12 is Dusty Rhodes (wrestler). Please help to improve it to match the quality of an ideal Wikipedia professional wrestling related article. The next article for collaboration will be chosen on Sunday, January 13.
